About this property

Skogvei Geodesic Dome with Nordic SAUNA, Boathouse & Private Lake access

Imagine being nestled in the woods lying in bed looking at the stars, wildlife and trees. We have created a sanctuary with winding trails to explore the16 acre property. There is a covered space with an area for grilling, sipping and sitting by the fire while you enjoy the outdoors. The wood is stacked and all the tools needed to build a fire, cook or just enjoy. The "outhouse" is nearby and the trail is lit up with solar lights. With just a 5 minute walk, you will have access to the original boathouse where you can relax, cook, read or just take a break from the sun or rain. The boathouse has running water, a refrigerator, stove and coffee making supplies. (Boathouse is only open in the summer months from May-October). The 94 acre lake is yours to explore with paddle boards, kayaks and a canoe if you choose. Or, just relax on the dock or sauna in either the wood fired sauna built with the wood from the property or the electric sauna in the lower boathouse.

What we love most about the property: The privacy, trails through the woods, historic boathouse and the huge dock to relax and enjoy the sunrise and sunsets.

What guests love about the property : We are just 25 minutes to Duluth as well as the beautiful sounds and sighting of nature and wildlife, peaceful lake and plenty of quiet spaces for find a place to relax

The Dome includes: All dishes, utensils, towels, 5 gallons of water, cast iron skillet, water kettle, French press, gas grill, wood fired grill, flashlights, lanterns, fire wood & kindling are all included and are at the Dome site. The saunas, lake and boathouse are a 5 minute walk with access to all paddle boards, kayaks and the boathouse. The boathouse has a full kitchen, gas grill, flat top grill, dishes and all utensils needed.

There are two rentals on the property with maximum guest capacity of 4 total between the two. One is the dome and the other is closer to the lake. With 16 acres to roam, you will definitely have your space. If you are looking to travel with another couple check out the Skogvei Loft listing

Hello I am Sheila! I am from MN but lived in Scottsdale, Las Vegas and Denver. I have been in the hospitality industry for most of my life as well as massage therapist and yoga studio owner. I love meeting new people and sharing our little piece of paradise on a lake in the woods.

Why they chose this property

The lake property was a large draw and the beauty each day is a new experiences. The wildlife, loons, trumpeter swans and so much more are breathtaking. We have made trails throughout the 16 acres that can be hiked or biked and thats how we found the sweet spot for the geodesic dome. The fall colors are incredible and it was always my favorite place to stroll.

What makes this property unique

The vintage boathouse and the history of generations of families that grew up in this house and on this small 94 acre lake could write a book
