Gorgeous oceanfront log home with 650 ft of shoreline and stunning water views!

Beautiful coastal contemporary home in a serene and private setting on 12.5 acres, this property beckons those who enjoy magnificent water views and the scenic beauty of Maine's pink granite shoreline. Watch the abundant marine life such as seals, porpoises and otters frolic in the bay as you enjoy your morning coffee from our Adirondack chairs on the shoreline or atop the pink granite nubble. Sited to capture dramatic views from every room, the first floor has an open concept kitchen with a new refrigerator and oven, living area with a queen sleeper sofa, dining area, 2 enclosed porches with lots of glass, a bathroom/laundry room and a master bedroom and bath complete with a jacuzzi tub and shower. The upstairs has a large loft with a queen sleeper sofa, library and sitting area offering gorgeous views of the water. Beyond the loft is a bedroom with 2 twin beds that can be made into a king, and another bedroom with a queen size bed. A full bath is also upstairs. The house is newly equipped with central air-conditioning.
Families as well as couples will enjoy exploring the expansive rocky shoreline and beach area. You can launch your kayak or canoe from either of our 2 coves on the property. 12 foot tides offer dramatically different views of the coastline and coves throughout the day and night and provide an array of activities that can be done at different tide levels. There is also a large clearing which provides plenty of room for lawn games and gatherings.

Cute and secluded little cabin

Susan's property was beautiful! We loved staying by the water, using the firepit, and being separated from city living. The house is a little out of the way so make sure to get any shopping done in the daytime but it makes the nights so dark; it was perfect for stargazing over the water. Definitely would stay again!

BEST Stay EVER!!

This property is SOOOOOOOOOOO beautiful. The photos do not do it justice. it is a stunning home and amazing outdoor space. The firepit overlooking the bay gives guests the opportunity to enjoy the tranquility and wildlife that host you. Bar Harbor vs. Gouldsboro --Select this property. Bar Harbor is a short ferry ride from Winter Harbor, which is only a 10–15-mile drive from the home. Enjoy the fun of Bar Harbor then retreat back to your peaceful oasis. For your seafood needs to cook at home, visit Maine Fresh Catch Market in Trenton. They sell the best lobster, clams and many other seafoods, along with cooking guidance. If coming in from the south, stop for your grocery needs in Ellsworth at Hannafords. Our family would like to extend our thanks and gratitude to the homeowners for allowing us to be their guests. Beautiful.

Hurricane Lee was about to hit us and our family still had a wonderful stay. The home is comfortable and spacious. The property is beautiful. I would recommend it.

Gorgeous setting

Each morning looking out on the bay was spectacular. So serene and beautiful. The house was just enough for our family of 4. The beach is not really a beach for swimming because it is a mud that you sink into, but it would be a great spot for kayaking! Proximity to Schoodic was a plus. We made several trips onto Mt Desert Island throughout the week. Would definitely recommend!

Our party, ages eight to eighty, thoroughly enjoyed this property. Even though we were close to the park, shopping, and restaurants, from the yard we seldom saw another human, just an occasional red canoe skimming by.

The views!

What a fantastic property!!!!! The views are just breathtaking! Kitchen was well equipped and we even used the gas grill to have a cookout one night. We ended up extending our stay! 10/10 would recommend! Note: The large supermarket is quite far away and the small markets in the area aren’t great. I suggest you go grocery shopping ahead of time on your way to the property as it’s difficult to just “run to the store”.

Comfy & Cozy

We had a lovely stay here. The place was beautiful and had all the comforts of home. We enjoyed the views of the bay and the fire pit. There were some local, coastal spots nearby that were nice to visit. The drive to Acadia and Bar Harbor was approximately an hour away.

Bayfront Cabin

This beautiful cabin was so peaceful. The windows provided lots of natural light and fresh air. The listing was just as described offered a stocked kitchen and many extras that made our stay wonderful!

Can’t get any better!

This cabin has it all for everyone! The loft was great for our 4 year old to play games with and sun room for anyone who wanted a little warmer than the cool breeze in the morning. My favorite was the fire pit and a good fire each night and watch the tide come in. We loved this place! We will be back again!

Awesome Return Trip

This was my second time staying at this property and it did not disappoint! The kitchen is well appointed, great wood stack for the fire pit and plenty of space for all to enjoy time together or have a bit of privacy. The ferry to Bar Harbor is just about 10-15 mins away and access to lots of other sites including the beautiful schoondic point. Also, the view is AMAZING! Can’t wait to return!

Sublime Schoodic Getaway

We felt very fortunate to spend time in Susan's wonderful cottage set on a secluded and quiet bay on the Schoodic Peninsula! The house is set alone on the waterfront and commands beautiful views on the bay, with amazing bird watching during the day and star gazing at night! Our family thoroughly enjoyed reading on the comfy Adirondacks and making smores in the fire pit. The property is a short 15 minutes from the Acadia National Park part of the peninsula and an easy hour by car or by boat from Bar Harbor (would definitely recommend a ferry trip into Bar Harbor!). Beyond Acadia, other preserves afford great hikes off the beaten track (Petit Manan, Cutler). The house is wonderfully appointed (we were able to make a blueberry pie with freshly picked blueberries from a hike thanks to Susan's great kitchen). Three bedrooms are large and airy, and the open floor plan on the first floor made for fun evenings together! The cozy reading nook, sunrooms, and porch made for great places to lounge with a book or work on a puzzle. Definitely recommend grilling seafood from the Lobstore in Winter Harbor--reasonably-priced and very fresh! All around a lovely place to rest, recharge, hike, and bike! Thank you, Susan, for sharing your lovely home with us!

2022 Vacation

This property was perfect for us, beautiful! The property & the home were perfect. We enjoyed the seclusion away from the crowds & took the ferry multiple days in to Bar Harbor. The Schoodic Peninsula area is gorgeous! We also stumbled on to Lubec & Quoddy Head state park, was the high light of our trip. This place is a must see! Highly recommend this property & would definitely stay again!

Down East Retreat

One of the cleanest and most well equipped cabin I have ever rented. It was so peaceful. The location was perfect with a lot of adventures close by. The view from the backyard was unbelievable.

Honeymoon,Anniversary Revival Trip

This was our second time staying at this beautiful Maine home. First time was 5 years ago for our 45 th anniversary. So when 50 th rolled around we wanted to celebrate again in Maine at this same home. We honeymooned in Maine, mostly in a tent. This was definitely much better. We had everything we needed to make lobstahs and oysters, for great dinners. The views are spectacular.. This home is located in a area close to Acadia and Schoodic Penn. Many little spots around to purchase fresh seafood. What more can I say "LOVED IT"
