The Selah Story...

With its biblical roots, the word selah means, “Pause, stop, and listen” — and there’s no better place for it than this spacious, warm, and inviting cabin. Bright as the Georgia sunshine streaming through the windows, Selah is a cozy combination of modern and homely design and playful splashes of color… aka the perfect home base for you and your group.

In the shadow of the Blue Ridge Mountains, with the Chestatee River carving through it, Dahlonega is quite possibly north Georgia’s most uniquely delightful town. Just 90 miles from Atlanta, in the heart of what the New York Times calls Georgia’s Wine Country, Dahlonega has something for everyone: outdoor adventure, visual and performing arts, culture, history, live music, and year-round entertainment at venues and seasonal festivals. Come find out for yourself why in 2023 Southern Living named Dahlonega “Georgia’s Best Small Town.”

The cabin. There are “rental properties,” and then there’s Selah. Charming, roomy, and comfortable, this unique, colorful home is perfect for making indelible memories with the whole family or friend group.

Sleep like a royal on luxuriously triple-sheeted beds; co-create culinary masterpieces in two fully outfitted kitchens then savor them inside or al fresco under the stars; tell stories late into the evening around the fire pits as night birds sing their songs; shoot pool or throw darts in the game room; cuddle up with a book in one of a dozen cozy nooks; enjoy a glass of local wine and the sound of the rushing river below from the screened in porch; throw a record on and boogie (or slow dance) the night away, or just… pause, stop, and listen.

Beautiful house!

The photos don't do this house suggest. There is plenty of room for everyone. We loved all of the amenities including the pool table, record player, and screened-in porch. We'll definitely be back!

Family Vacation

We live in Florida and wanted a chance to get up to the mountains and so this was the perfect retreat for our family. We came with our four sons, two wives (one pregnant and one with an infant), and we were able to bring our dog along, which was super helpful. There was so many different spaces in the house for everyone to have plenty of room to spread out and our four young adult sons loved the downstairs area as they were able to set up to play video games, have pool tournaments, watch March madness, it was great! We explored the woods near the house, made fires in the fire pit each night and just had great quality family time.

Relaxing Fall Getaway

Beautifully decorated and well-stocked home for a memorable weekend getaway with daughter and granddaughters. So many areas for individual quiet time or group gatherings. Fantastic views of foliage and deer and to our delight, reading materials and games our granddaughters were able to enjoy. We would stay again.

Selah Sanctuary in the Mountains

I recently had the pleasure of staying at a charming VRBO house that completely exceeded our expectations! From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with spectacular views that took our breath away. The scenery was a perfect backdrop for our holiday getaway, and we spent countless hours soaking it all in from the patios and countless windows that overlooked the mountains. The Christmas decorations were simply delightful, adding a warm and festive atmosphere to our stay. It truly felt like a home away from home, with every corner thoughtfully adorned in a way that made our holiday experience even more special. The house itself was cozy and well-maintained, equipped with everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The hosts were incredibly welcoming and attentive, ensuring we had everything we needed to enjoy our time there. Overall, this house is a hidden gem! I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a memorable getaway, especially during the holiday season. We can’t wait to return!

Girl's Weekend!

We had a group of 8 girls stay and we all had an absolute blast! We really enjoyed our stay, being able to cook in the kitchen, enjoy the views, and explore Dahlonega! We all had plenty of room. The living room offered plenty of seating options to have seating to visit with each other. We only had a few complaints but they are by no means deal breakers! Just a few things we all agreed might be helpful for the future: -There was a very large amount of spider webs all over the outside of the house filled with several, large spiders. Unfortunately this prevented us from being able to use all the lovely spots on the property. Obviously being out in the woods this time of year, bugs are expected! But wouldn't be a bad idea to periodically have someone clear the spider webs. -A black washcloth was provided in each bathroom with a request to use it to wash your makeup off. But with 8 girls in the house, not everyone got one. We all agreed a few more towels and washcloths would be so helpful. Yes - could do laundry, but we had a jam packed weekend and didn't have time to do laundry everyday. -We were a little shocked by the driveway when we pulled in as it's extremely steep. Not a deal breaker for us - but depending on the time of year people are visiting or the type of vehicle they have, it might be something important to note! Truly an overall beautiful spot and one I will be remembering for the future to share with my own family! Thank you!
