Family Gathering

Our large extended family stayed here for the second time. We first stayed in 2020 and again in 2023. Yard is great for the kids and spacious. Lots of water toys/floats are provided and the kids love jumping off the jump dock. Swimming is nice but becomes filled with seaweed at the end of the dock. We take out boat down to the swimming area at the north end and the kids love it, or father into the lake so you can't touch the seaweed. It's a fairly quiet lake for an all sports lake. Lots of room to spread out on the lake and still feel by yourself. House is spacious for sleeping, beds, the floor or extra mattresses provided in the closets. The house is nothing fancy but were here to spend time together so we don't need many amenities. Although the kitchen is lacking in silverware and cooking utensils, but we made it through. For the price of this house, it is great. It could definitely use a deep cleaning and some better shower heads but it is roomy enough to not be on top of each other. Lots of seating provided inside and outside. We unfortunately were subject to theft (some fishing items taken off our boat), but that obviously is no fault of Goran, just be sure to lock up your things as we, being on vacation, were much more laid back and were not considering that even an option. Overall, we always have had a great time and hope to return soon! We are hoping to be able to stay again.

Wonderful lakefront for family get together

Other than a few issues this house is perfect for spending time together. (The uneven floors and stairs resulted in a couple bad falls, and the wasps just outside the door resulted in a few people being stung.) Plenty of rooms, beds, couches, towels, dishes and supplies! We plan on gathering there again next year!

Worked great

Overall, property worked great. The lake was nice and clean. Kids caught some fish and the beach was perfect for the kids. House is dated and is showing signs of age but we only needed it to sleep so no big deal. Highly recommend for families.

Memories Made!

The cottage was very spacious and in the perfect location on the lake. We took both our small dogs, and the entire place had wood floors and a fenced in yard which was great. They explored the entire time! The owner was very receptive to any questions we had. We did rent a pontoon boat for the week not the owners. The lake is very clean and not busy at all. The beach area was perfect and clean. The Wi-Fi was not really strong which was fine. It made the kids play and not be on their phones the whole time. We took board games, badminton net,volleyballs, a float for the pond, and several beach towels. We planned all our meals and did a Walmart pick up in Hastings, which is only about 15 minutes away. The neighbors were very friendly. The kids fished and there was a bass tournament on the lake while we were there which they thought was really cool. We drove our boat to the deep End of the end of lake and went swimming everyday. We had a fire every night. Items I recommend you pack; beach towels,speaker, paper products, extra laundry detergent, sunscreen bug, spray, (the washer and dryer are great) any spices you will need, baggies, Things I wish the house had, Rubbermaid containers, and a cookie sheet. Other than that this is a great space…it’s a cottage, if you want luxury this is not the place. If you want to relax and be outdoors rent this property.

Perfect

If you're looking to rent a cottage on a lake to do some boating, fishing, and water sports with your family and extended family & friends, Goran's place is perfect! It's on a beautiful all-sports lake, with a great view. The cottage, with its huge deck, has the perfect layout for hosting larger gatherings. The bedrooms are roomy, all with true queens, a couple had an additional single in the room, and there were mattresses that could be thrown if necessary. Additionally, there is a nice big living room with four couches and plenty of floor space for kids to throw a sleeping bag and watch movies at night. Everything was clean and ready to go when we arrived. There were ample rags and towels in the bathroom. There was plenty of silverware and dinnerware for the occasion you don't want to use paper (cooking steaks). We were delighted to see the pantry, closets and shelves empty when we arrived. It made unpacking very easy. It's an older cottage and with that comes some wear and tear, but the HUGE plus side to that is that you can relax and not worry as much. There are no expensive lamps, priceless vases, or one-of-a-kind paintings for the kids to ruin at Goran's place. All-in-all Goran seems to understand what people are trying to do when they rent a cottage on a lake and has his set up such that it's very easy to make it work for you for a week or two while you have some fun on the lake.

Large house on a beautiful lake.

We have enjoyed staying here the last 2 summers. It’s a nice large house with a large back yard. The lake is beautiful and the neighbors on both sides were very friendly. We were happy to be able to bring our pets. The owner is quick to answer texts. We were happy to have more sand on the lakefront this year. That was great for the little ones. The Wi-Fi is very slow and the kids that had zoom meetings had to go to Starbucks so that was inconvenient. I hear they are getting better internet on the street so that should be helpful.

Long lake

We had an awesome time with our family. The weather didn't cooperate but we were able to play lots of indoor and outdoor games. The house easily accommodated our large family. We plan to return next summer!

Family getaway

Had a blast at the cabin, only concern was it was advertised as each room had queen and twin. But the twins in 3 rooms are just a mattress on the floor. Which was fine since we had lots of kids who didnt mind but if staying with more adults just a heads up. House was large enough for our group yard was perfect for us. Kids had fun on beach, and fishing. We brought our own kayaks and lake was perfect for that too. They also had a block party the weekend we were there which all the kids loved and we had a blast

Great stay on the lake

Wonderful 4 day stay with golf buddies. Great layout with plenty of room in the kitchen and living room. Nice view and awesome fire pit. We would definitely stay there again.

Nice setting

Beautiful area to help you relax. The property owner was responsive when the pump alarm went off our first night at 1am. Our last night the alarm sounded off again. It was a high pitch beeping sound that interrupted our sleep. I liked the fenced in yard for my dog. The living room and kitchen were spacious. I think the house could use maintenance and a good cleaning.. I’m a very tidy person so my expectations are higher than some when it comes to cleanliness.

Summer Fun

This is a really nice cottage/home. Very spacious! Living room had plenty of comfy seating and a big screen TV. Kitchen was well stocked. There is no ice maker or ice cube trays, so bring your own or buy ice. Bedrooms are good size with plenty of closet space. Plenty of bath towels were provided, however, there were very few wash cloths and kitchen wash cloths. The backyard was large with sun and a shaded tree and fenced in yard. The deck is a good size with 2 tables for eating outside. The large gas grill provided was a plus. The pictures showed a sandy beach where the kids could play, but when we were there, there was no beach sand, just stones and pebbles which were not so nice for bare feet or making sand castles. That was disappointing because it was one of the the top 3 musts we were looking for in a rental cottage. Despite that, we did have a good time and enjoyed our time together.

Great place for a group

This was a great cottage for a group, we had 7 adults and 3 kids and there was plenty of room for all. The deck and yard were wonderful and we used the fire pit every night. We also took advantage of the beach at Yankee Springs and Boulder Ridge Zoo which were both just a few minutes away. This cottage met everyones needs and made for a nice relaxing time to reconnect.

Wonderful week away

We stayed at the property with 7 adults and 8 kids. The house had plenty of space to accommodate us all comfortably. The front yard was large and perfect for games and lounging along with a nice amount of shade if we wanted to get out of the sun for a bit. The lake was nice for fishing and water sports. The neighbors were friendly and the neighborhood was quiet. We enjoyed our stay and would definitely recommend this property - especially for a large group!!

Beautiful property. Nice big bedrooms. We had 9 adults and 2 little ones and were very comfortable all week. We had dinners on the deck which is a good size and they had 2 patio tables set up. The yard is a good size for playing outdoor games. It’s a great house with a beautiful view of the lake so we’ve already booked it for next year. The Wi-Fi was slow but Chuck informed us that high speed internet is going in on the other side of the lake so hopefully it will be better next time we go. We didn’t see any extras like a blender, griddle or crockpot so if you need them take them with you. Communication with Goran the owner was great. He called us after check in to make sure everything went smoothly and to see if we needed anything. We ended up not bringing our pets and he is refunding the pet cleaning fee so that’s appreciated.

A little worn but so are we!

Great location...great deck, dock & yard. Cleanliness was decent...nothing some clorox wipes didn't take care of. Bring your small tool box with you just in case. Very nice that towels & linens were plentiful. Plenty of glasses, cups, dishware, & silverware. We would suggest no slip duckies in the main bathroom tub. We will bring a cheap no slip mat next time just in case. Framing the WiFi username & password and putting it with the house rules can eliminate some confusion & unnecessary phone calls. Goran was very nice and attentive. We would definitely stay again!

June 2022 stay

The main living area kitchen and deck are nice for gatherings up to 14 people. The other areas are adequate but need some updates. The lighting is poor there were no wash clothes, no ice trays and no ice maker. The can opener is difficult to use. Our group is all seniors and the steps getting in the house need to be improved. The main bathroom needs some non slip strips in the tub as it gets very slippery when soapy. We had a difficult time with the internet as it wasn’t clear what the password is and where to find it. It does have a nice yard for playing games. I think the owner could spend $200-300 and it would make it so much nicer for guest.

Relaxing getaway...

The good - Responsive owner, easy to communicate with allowed early checking and late check out. Beds were very comfy with clean linens provided. Lots of towels and everyday essential items provided as well. Kitchen was very well stocked. Comfy living room furniture, TV with satellite and wifi ok as well. Items needing improvement - Overall cleanliness of outside of property could use some maintenance. There was dirt/moss on exterior walls, deck also needs a good power wash, windows had lots of bugs, dirt and spiderwebs. Old leaves around front of property and deck area. Boat dock was very wobbly so had to supervise kids when they were fishing off of it. Owner also rents out pontoon boat which we passed on after seeing it. Boat has duct tape on every seat, visible dirt in every corner and ripped carpeting. It is not something we wanted to use for a stroll around the lake. Its just in pretty rough shape and I would not recommend using it. Owner was honest about condition of boat as well before booking so I re!lly appreciate his honesty. Overall we would stay at this house again. The exterior upkeep issues were something we got used to and I'm sure owner will address next time he's at the house (you can easily tell this is a second home and not someone's primary residence). The interior comfort and space were enough for our party to have a good stay.

The sand area had a lot of rocks so it was difficult for the kids to walk across. Don't recommend going in past your knees because you will sink into muck. Pictures posted were very out of date, the pontoon is in very poor shape with duct tape all over the seats, floor ripped up and moldy, there is no canopy on the pontoon and it stalled on us 3 times in the middle of the lake. The house had plenty of room and the weather was beautiful.

Good Family Vacation (except for unsafe pontoon boat)

Many positives - Beautiful view of lake; great yard with shallow entry to water for our young grandchildren; nice size deck facing lake with two large tables for eating/playing games; nice fire pit close to lake; adequate deck chairs; Wonderful living - dining area; lots of seating in the living room; nice size table for our family meals; kitchen adequately stocked (except no measuring cups, bring your own kitchen supplies for dishwasher, scrubbie pads, etc, ice cube trays or buy bags of ice); adequate central air-conditioning (some rooms were not as cool so bring some fans for circulating the air); comfy mattresses. Chuck, the property manager, was very easy to work with and he lives only four houses away. Negative - Goran - THE PONTOON BOAT WAS INADEQUATE!!!! You are not able to see the boat ahead of time before deciding to rent it. This boat is not safe for families to ride in!!!!!!! In fact, I'm still upset about this. To pay $450 for three days for a boat that dies out on you (I needed to frequently squeeze the gas line bulb near the motor.); one of the side doors is not safely secured - the screws are missing so it's secured with a bungee cord. The other door next to the pier is ready to fall off. There are sharp edges of wood were the carpeting is ripped off. The carpeting is ripped up and bare in places - easy for people to trip on. The upholstery is ripped up. There is no overhead awning for protection from the sun. There was a wasp's nest under the driver's seat. AND THE LID COVERING BACK OF THE BOAT NEAR THE GAS CAP WAS NOT ATTACHED AT ALL!!!!!! WHEN MY HUSBAND WENT TO GRAB IT - NOT KNOWING IT WAS UN-SECURE - HE FELL BACKWARDS INTO THE LAKE PULLING A MUSCLE IN HIS BACK. We had owned a lake home for almost thirty years in Green Lake Wisconsin including a pontoon boat and other water vehicles. I would NEVER rent a boat in this condition especially without letting the renter know of it's condition and for the price charged!!!!!

Boat misinformation

Everything from the cleanliness, spaciousness, and yard was great. However, we paid separately for a boat that looked nothing like the pictures. The seats and floors were ripped and the canopy was missing. It honestly looked like it wouldn’t even work. We don’t know if it worked or not cause we demanded our money back, which the owner did return. False advertising in not appreciated. We had a good time otherwise.

I purchased this home as a vacation getaway for my family. As my children grew older we realized we were not using it often enough. That is when I decided to rent the property so other families can experience the fun. You will feel right at home as we did for many years.

This is a quiet community nesteled in the woods. I fell in love with the lake and the nature while vacationing for many years at my friends house on the same lake.
