About this property
Center of Castine, walking dist. to all amenities. 2 story 2,000 sq. Ft.
Location, location! This huge 2 storey ell addition (1830) to the side/rear of a historic house is located in the very center of Castine village, on Main Street. All amenities are a short walk away; town dock, golf course, tennis courts, library, Maritime Academy, Dyce Head lighthouse, Backshore Beach, town common, galleries, restaurants, churches, a hike in Witherle Woods, yacht club, kayak center.
Castine location also makes all of DownEast Maine easily reachable for day trips: Belfast, Camden, Rockland (Farnsworth museum), Blue Hill, Mt. Dessert, Bar Harbor, Acadia National Park.
Ground floor is one large open space 1000sq. Ft +, with board games+ for kids and teens: ping pong, air hockey, fusbol, lots of reading material and comfy seating. Access to rear yard and picnic table, charcoal grille.
Second floor is a very large 4 bedroom, 1 bath apartment with additional relaxing area and a 17X12ft eat-in kitchen.
One King size bed, three Queens.
All bedding and towels provided.
Modern tile bathroom includes washer, dryer and tub-shower.
Kitchen is fully equipped with all necessary pots and pans, lobster pot, dishware, silverware and has modern electric range, microwave, large refrigerator.
This is a bright and sunny self-cater rental, ideal for a family, pair of couples, or similar. No consumables are provided.
Children welcome. No animals allowed.
We are looking for a one booking, one month rental, for the month of July only. $7000 plus tax. 31 days, $225. per night, up to six guests.
This rental makes up in space and central location what it lacks in water view.
Come enjoy a car-free experience if you want, and enjoy our beautiful and inspiring historic village on foot or bicycle, surrounded by views all around of Penobscot Bay. House is +/- 100 yds to town dock.
Help us celebrate July 4th the old fashioned way with a parade, games on the Common, hot dogs and ice cream, and a dazzling fireworks show after sundown!
Or join the all day events on July 14th, “Bastille Day”, marking Castine’s founding French roots through the Baron de Saint-Castin (1652-1707).
Soyez Bienvenue!
Ici on parle le Français.
These are just some of the July events, to involve one’s self with, a little or a lot, or maybe not at all.. Alternatively, Castine is a placid and beautifully restful place for refreshing the spirit with abundant peace and quiet.
