About this property

This cabin is a 2 bedroom(s), 1 bathrooms, located in Rogers, KY.

Brand New Renovation! Still Water Cabin is the perfect place to "get away" tucked away peacefully in a serene old growth forest. Amazingly, it is still close to everything-- 4 miles from Natural Bridge State Park and minutes from Red River Gorge, close to Gorge Underground. Family and pet-friendly.

Come, be inspired by KY writers as you have the space to escape, reflect and rejuvenate! "I come into the peace of wild things... I come into the presence of still water."-- Wendell Berry.

Plenty of flat parking available in front of cabin, no fee.

Still Water Cabin is located in a RURAL area. There are several steep gravel roads on the way in. All-wheel drive vehicles are not necessary to make it (we frequently drive it in our minivan), but we do recommend them in bad weather. The back roads have no lights, several of the road signs are wood, and we HIGHLY RECOMMEND checking in before dark. ***GPS IS UNRELIABLE IN THE AREA AND DOES NOT RECOGNIZE THE ADDRESS TO THE CABIN.*** We will send out a pin with the location, but you may have to rely on our written directions to get there. We love this type of adventure, but if you are uncomfortable driving on steep gravel hills and off the beaten path without Siri as a guide then it may not be for you.

The cabin’s water is provided by a cistern. There is a Brita water filter in the refrigerator and we encourage guests to bring extra drinking water.

WINTER WEATHER NOTICE:
Still Water Cabin is located in a rural area with several steep hills near the cabin. These roads are not treated or cleared after winter storms, and we do not recommend trying to make it to the cabin when snow, sleet or ice is predicted. Guests who have tried to come in bad weather have been stranded on the side of the road, even those with four-wheel drive and good winter driving skills. We will do our best to keep you apprised of the weather in the area and contact you if/when bad weather is predicted; however, we do not live in the area and ask that you also look into it before you leave for your trip.

Newly renovated 2 bed/1 bath cabin with modern farmhouse design. Both bedrooms have queen beds. We have a futon that folds out and can sleep 1 adult or 2 children. If you don’t care for sleeping on a futon (some guests have mentioned that there’s a metal bar that goes down the middle) there is plenty of room for an air mattress!

There are lots of places to relax with an outdoor fire pit, picnic table and Adirondack chairs. Enjoy beautiful undisturbed old growth forest from our back deck! Cabinets, countertops and stair railing were designed and built by local craftsman.

We love kids! Still Water Cabin is family friendly with toys for babies, toddlers and young children. We have lots of board games, a 42" tv, WiFi, and a beautiful forest to explore. There is a small creek directly behind the cabin and a large gathering area with a picnic table for meals in the front.

We also welcome pets. Please register your pet when you book if you plan to bring them.

Please note: This is a cabin in the middle of the woods, and you can expect to experience all good and bad that comes with that. We offer a peaceful getaway where you can relax and enjoy the beautiful surrounding forest. We spray regularly for bugs and keep mouse traps out but have seen an increase in both with the warmer weather. We try our best to be accommodating hosts but cannot fully control this type of wildlife in/around the cabin. Don’t forget to bring bug spray!

Some guests have mentioned that there aren’t many outlets throughout the cabin. If you have lots of electronics/devices consider bringing a power strip with you.

Great Overnight Spot

This was perfect for our family for a one night stay at the Gorge. Place was clean and had everything we needed. We enjoyed the hot tub and fire pit for s'mores. A little challenging to find at first but very convenient to the Natural Bridge State Park.

It was a cozy family fun cabin

Overall a good place to stay. The address pin wouldn’t load so it was difficult to find. Otherwise, it was a cozy place to stay in the woods.

I was quite disappointed with the cleanliness of this property. The bedding had stains . I have took some pictures as well. Cleanliness should be a top priority, and I hope the host addresses these issues for future guests.

Quite. . But. .

Was ok to find once you get the property manager to send you the correct pin drop. Could not get the front door to lock back, used a chair to block the door at night. Hot tub was not the cleanest. Water pressure was hit or miss. 4 people went to wash their hands and the 3rd person turned the water on and it just dripped out. Waited about 30 minutes then it was fine, the shower didnt have strong pressure. Parking is tight. We had a trailor and you Definitely couldn't have one longer r then 16'. Was a tight area to turn around.

Just wanted to get away to nature for a night and this was the perfect spot for it. Had a good hike at Muir Valley just 9 mins up the road, then headed to the cabin to chill for the rest of the night with my cousin and my 1 yr old. Appreciated having a pack n play, high chair seat and toys for her to use. Had a fun game night with lots of options. Cabin was cute and decorated nicely. The only thing I would change is to have an XL skillet available but we made it work with what we had. Thanks for letting us have a peaceful night in your place! 😊

Updates

Cute updates were recently made however we found there was dog urine smell all over the couch and carpeted stairs. Hot tub was dark water so we did not use it. The game room was very cute though and you could tell it had been recently updated in the kitchen.

Quaint little cabin in woods.

The house is a little difficult to find, but once you find it, you will love the spot where it is. Very serene. The house needs some updates and the bathroom is small for a family of 5. The hot tub had a film of something along the top which discouraged use. The cell service is spotty so retrieve your wifi password to the cabin before you get there from your email because once you get there you can't get to the messages. There is no instruction manual with information in the house, that being said there werent that many check out instructions, like others I've stayed in. The things they did ask you to do, they didnt provide the stuff to do it, for example black trash bags for garbage were no where to be found. They say they will provide some k cups not alot. But there were none, so if you want a cup of coffee in the morning pack your own. The beds were very comfortable and the little game room upstairs was alot of fun.
