We felt right at home. The home was clean and the communication with Angelen was excellent. We choose this cabin to spend Christmas and we were not disappointed. The home was beautiful and cozy. We arrived and it was so cold outside but inside the house was warm. The home was easy to find. Everything was near by which made it easy to get groceries for the week and enjoyed cooking on the open kitchen. As well as dinning on it and visiting with family near by. Over all 10 out of 10! And would book with this host again. Thank you for having us in your home !

Extremely rude property manager
First, the hot tub was filthy with a dirty filter floating on top of the water. Exposed wiring in entryway (missing cover). The kitchen counters, sink, and microwave were covered in dirty streaks and the yard was so full of debris and leaves it was difficult to safely walk through. My husband checked the box that we had one pet and the owner messaged me accusing us of having multiple dogs because their cleaner “saw 2 bowls in the sink”?? Then we were accused of using a plastic bowl for our dog and given a lecture on how those bowls are for people. I assured her we had our own dog dishes for our small crated dog. I don’t appreciate being called a liar and think this owner needs to learn how to conduct business in a kind, professional manner.
Cabin was cute and in good location, far from the noise but close enough to downtown to do things. However, a few things could definitely be improved. When we arrived the hot tub was not warm, or on. This was a bummer as it was a great feature that made us choose this property to stay at. It took until midday the second day of our stay to warm up. Trundle beds were not made. I reached out to the property manager who said they “might be in the upstairs closet” where we found sheets that appeared to be just thrown into the attic in one of the upstairs closet, not even folded or prepared for use. In my personal opinion all advertised beds should already be made or have clean FOLDED linens ready to put on the bed. So 3 of us had to sleep in the king instead of utilizing the trundle beds. The king bed downstairs had a long gray hair left on the pillow when we arrived. The towels laid out in the bedrooms were slightly stained but smelled clean. The biggest issue with the property is the sliding back door does not lock. We had to stay up our first night to reinforce the wood piece that was keeping it from being opened since the physical lock on the door did not work. Also, the bottom lock on the keypad door was locked when we left the house and the solution from the manager was to try a set of keys hung behind a curtain in the sunroom (accessible to anyone), which was not lockable for us and the manager wasn’t even sure what the keys unlocked! Safety and cleaning could be improved.
This property was great. Perfect location to be outside of the city, but still close to travel to all the attractions we wanted to visit. Felt like we were secluded in the woods. As another reviewer mentioned, the only bathroom downstairs is in the master bedroom. This wasn't an issue for us since we were all family, but just something to keep in mind. Other bathroom is on second floor at top of steps. Only suggestion for the owner is to have more kitchen utensils, cups, and cookware. We were constantly running the dishwasher to keep up with running out of plates, cups, and utensils. Overall great experience!
The house was within 20 -25 minutes of most Asheville locations. The road that the house was on was narrow and was a bit confusing the first time we arrived. It looked more like a long driveway and then it split twice. Just be sure to take the splits to the left and you'll get there. The house is small, but cute. It was clean, but had the tell-tale signs of being a rental property- which I guess is to be expected. There were many light switches which didnt seem to do anything, and we never figured out how to turn off the kitchen light. The best we could guess is that it was on a motion sensor. The bedroom with 4 beds was a bit misleading. There were 4 twins, but 2 were trundles. After a moment of panic, I noticed them, but the room is too small to have the trundles out and walk in the room. One had to be physically picked up and moved before you could pull out the other trundle. The trundles also stayed low to the ground and did not pop up to normal bed height. The trundles also didnt have any sheets, but we found some in an unfinished side closet. Theye weren't folded and there was open insulation near it, so we washed them first before using. It was not the end of the world, but it wasn't what I expected. The beds were all comfortable. Also, the main floor bathroom was only accessible by going through a bedroom. So that's something to keep in mind. The hot tub was clean and the den was comfortable. Wi-Fi worked great, so my kids were happy.
