Rose Cottage provides lots of places to breathe in serene Bald Head Island ocean views! From the rocking chairs on the front porch to the screen porch's table and chairs to the Adirondacks on the top balcony, this inviting four-bedroom, four-bath High Dunes cottage is perfect for those seeking relaxation-and it's now more convenient to the beach with a newly added South Beach access point just across the way.

Rose Cottage boasts a lovely, bright kitchen with plenty of counter space, stainless steel appliances and a double sink. Its open floor plan features a spacious dining area, with a table that comfortably seats eight. (Eat here or on the screen porch soaking up ocean views.) Beyond the dining area is the light, roomy sitting space, anchored by a decorative fireplace. This is the perfect spot for family conversation or comfy movie-watching. For a quiet read or nap, a den on this level houses a trundle. The Primary King is also on this floor and offers direct porch access and an ensuite bath.

Two additional suites are located upstairs, one is a Queen and the other provides two double beds. Both have direct porch access as well as their own ensuite baths. An additional Queen suite, with its own bathroom, is located in the private crofter.

Plenty of games, books and fun await you at Rose Cottage. Included in your rental are internet access and the use of two four-passenger golf carts and access to WWP's 24/7 Property Manager Assistance Line-which means you can reach needed help even after hours or on weekends. Perfect Long Weekend Getaway

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Overall, the rental was beautiful and had a great location. We enjoyed our stay. The only minor complaint that we had was that the rental only had two small dish towels and no beach towels. For this level of rental and compared to similar other BHI properties that we have rented in previous years, I would have expected ample linens for the week. Part of our family brought our own beach towels but other members who flew in from Colorado found it impractical to do so. If this is the owner's decision then it should be made very clear to prospective renters that they need to come prepared.

Great floorplan, great location

Reviewer Comments: This was our second time at this house and we were very pleased we picked it again! Oven was broken but management brought in a replacement toaster oven as soon as we let them know. Owner needs to update their beach chairs and beach accessories...management again promptly brought us some good beach chairs. I think the house could be updated a bit but it was okay for a week. Golf carts run and get you where you need to go but they are not pretty to look at! It is hard to get them in the garage b/c it isn't a 2 golf cart garage. We had a great time. It was clean and the kitchen had good pans and dishes. Washer and dryer and dishwasher ran well. Wendy Wilmont is johnny-on-the-spot with what you need and made sure it was clean and we had what we needed. Thank you for everything! I hope we can come back again!

July 2022 Stay

Would not rent Rose Cottage again. Except for the view from the second story balcony, only disappointment in this home. It was dirty, un-equipped as a rental, and is in need of repair and a deep cleaning. The day we arrived we removed our shoes when entering. It was the last time our shoes came off in the house. The first evening showering our feet were so black it looked like mud in the shower. The furniture is stained and worn and the carpets were nasty. The rental had two bikes for our use - one was broken. The kitchen - I had to wipe down the inside of the fridge before stocking. This rental house didn’t even have salt and pepper - be prepared to bring or buy everything. We love BHI, and will be back, but will not be renting or recommending this house to anyone.

The Rose Cottage is very worn. Great location, but a lot of minor things that need attention. The cleanliness of the property, torn shower liner, no shower liner in the other bathroom. The door does lock, and bugs. It needs some TLC and is not worth the price it cost to rent it.

We really enjoyed our stay at Rose Cottage. The house had a great layout for our group. Beds were comfortable, the view was lovely, and WWP was responsive! My only real complaint was that the kitchen could be better equipped. The nonstick pots & pans were in terrible shape with flaking and loose handles. There were no grill tools and other utensils were not in good shape. It also would have been nice to have more dish towels.

Rose Cottage is a good location and good layout. That said, it definitely needs some attention. There were sand spurs (OUCH!) in all mats in the house & in most bedroom carpets. We literally removed all mats from the house because they were providing more pain than help. This meant that sand easily got in the house. The carpet in the master bedroom has many stains.

Great place and location

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We enjoyed the house overall. The location was top notch. We did have and issue with the water heater overcooking and ruining the staircase due to a lightning strike before we arrived. This necessitated repeated visits by maintenance folks, although all were pleasant and courteous. The strike knocked out a few TVs as well and we were without for the first few days. Our only non-temporary complaint was there isn't a recreation area for the kids separate from the main living area in case of a rain out day. This was a first trip to BHI for us and we thought it spectacular and will definitely be coming back!
