Great job of retaining the charm and history of the farmhouse, while at the same time having everything in wonderful working order.
Being so close to that beautiful, special lake and yet surrounded by so many acres of quiet and beautiful woods is a very special opportunity indeed. We felt so lucky to be there.
The house has a lot of charm. It is spacious and very well equipped. Enjoyed mornings and evenings on the screened porch and our days at the water. Sandwich cove is a perfect location for tubing, waterskiing, kayaking, swimming and fishing. The grandchildren enjoyed the wide-open yard to play games and be outside. The owner was very helpful with any questions that we had. Highly recommended.
Vintage farmhouse fits extended family. Dock was great! We appreciated the 4 kayaks and one canoe. Things to note: house is technically an apartment as neighbor is in adjacent unit (very quiet, no issue there), and also for anyone with mobility issues, the trek down to the water is a bit treacherous (stone stairs could use improvement). We plan to return next summer. Thanks John C.!
We had a great time at Coolidge Farm. The house had everything you would need and it was close to the beach. Nights were very relaxing sitting on the porch enjoying the lake. Hope to make it back there in the future.
This property and house are just stunning on Golden Pond and John was an excellent host.
Looking forward to returning!
Thank you!

Beautiful setting
The farmhouse, though aging was very clean. The setting especially from the screen porch overlooking the lake was gorgeous.
Downfalls were:
Had to contact owner to find out address though owner was very responsive.
No bedsheets on any of the beds which we discovered about 11:30 pm as we were expecting to go to seep.
The path to the lake needed some bushwhacking as we had to wade through overgrowth to get there. Two of the four of us got ticks.
The screen porch was wonderful for the evening since there were mosquitos, but there were a lot of tears in the screening so a few mosquitoes did get in. Needs a bit of repair.
This problem falls on VRBO - There was a steep security deposit and it has been more than 14 days since we left and we have had absolutely no communication from VRBO as to if and when our deposit will be returned. It seems they want to make money on our money by not returning security deposit in a timely manner. Impossible to get any answers from VRBO.
Wonderful place to stay with the family and friends.
We had an amazing time. Great property in the woods but close to Meredith which is a great little town. John was very responsive and accomadating. We will definitely stay again.
We had a fabulous week staying with our family at this historic farmhouse. With a rented boat we toured the lake, swim everywhere, ran up and down the dirt roads, hiked the mountains, and had multiple family dinners and relaxing evenings. The owner was very responsive. It was great to stay at a piece of history and enjoy the loons singing.
We had a great stay in this historic old home. We even had a deer pass by us as we were sitting on the porch. It was well stocked with just about anything you would need. The owner was super nice and flexible with what we needed.
4 of us stayed here for our annual fishing trip. The house has a boat dock which made getting out on the lake allot quicker. The view from the back porch of the lake is awesome. John was very accommodating. Can’t wait to come back next year!!
As always an awesome stay. Even with the loss of temporary power. John was immediately responsive and the power worked itself back on without issue. Looking forward to 2021.
8 adults and a 2 yr old stayed for 10 days. We had plenty of room and could all fit around the dining table. The property was centrally located to all the things we wanted to do and see. We loved it.
Coolidge Farm was a terrific week getaway for my family. We are regular visitors to Sandwich and Squam Lake and had never experienced this rustic but comfortable way to visit. The home takes you back to yesteryear but also provides the modern day needs. Access to the lake was simple and enjoyable. The available dock made using the rented boat so nice. Thank you John for giving my family this nice getaway.
What an absolutely beautiful property, with 360 degrees of gorgeous views. The interior of the house is rustic and very well-maintained. We were a party of 8 and all slept very comfortably. The kitchen has everything you would need to cook a delicious meal, and the dining table is large enough to for a party of at least 10. Can’t recommend this place enough if you’re looking for a getaway that is both far from the worries of the modern world, but with all of its amenities.

A peaceful getaway
My friends and I enjoyed a much needed getaway at the Coolidge Farm.
The house is comfy, charming & well-equipped. We spent a good deal of timing on the screened porch since it was 'bug season'. The vast variety of birds kept us entertained. Bring your binoculars!
John paid us a visit and shared history of the farm, along with other interesting information.
While the location is quite rural and quiet, the nearby towns offer a bit of fun. It is a beautiful area; just don't be expecting 'city life' and you won't be disappointed!

A magical place -- I can't wait to come back again
I have to tell you I looked like a real hero to my wife and friends when I picked out this place and brought them here as a surprise. As soon as we pulled up to the place my wife had a huge smile on her face. The farm house is beautiful, there is an amazing view of the lake, and we had so much fun just walking around the area and checking really connecting with nature. Inside the house we felt warm and cozy, the bedrooms were very accommodating and with updated bathrooms we cleaned off nicely after swimming and playing around at the beach near by. At night we relaxed on the porch and listened to the sounds of nature, drank a little wine and really got away from the real world for a while ...
