Adorable home in great location

We completely enjoyed our time in Lewes while staying at this house. We stayed for two weeks. We enjoyed spending the evenings outside on the patio. While inside, we were able to spread out in the different sitting areas. I personally loved cooking in the kitchen! The location was perfect for walking to restaurants and shops. We loved all of the history in Lewes and that includes this home. I couldn't help but wonder what the inside of building originally looked like!

Lovely week in Lewes

We had a wonderful stay in Lewes in this charming historical property. The house was even better than the pictures and there were thoughtful touches throughout. In a lovely neighborhood right near the historical society. Neighbor next door was delightful and friendly. Felt like a home away from home! The only issue we had was the outdoor patio lights were not working for us but no big deal. The other recommendation might be a larger TV in the sitting room as we were watching the Olympics as a family each night on the smaller downstairs TV, but no big deal. We love older homes and come from a historical home ourselves so the steep stairs were no issue for us but others should be aware. Our teen daughter loved having the attic room for herself so it was a perfect fit for our family.

We love the Barber Shop

This is our second stay in the Barber Shop. It is a beautiful house in a great location. It is an easy walk into the downtown area, but on a quiet street. The house was the perfect size for our group - 2 families each with 1 child (6 ppl total). It is good to know that to access the upstairs room you need to walk through one of the downstairs bedrooms and up a steep flight of stairs, but we were fine with this arrangement (our second time!) and the kids loved the upstairs room.

The sweetest house in the center of Lewes

Our family had a wonderful two weeks on the property. It was close to everything, and everyone we wanted to visit while we were there. Couldn’t have asked for more. I have to admit I took the wreath off the door, that gorgeous front corner door is too beautiful to be covered up. :)

Charming, historic home in a great location

Our family had a great week in this charming, historic home. A quick walk into town, and in the heart of the historic area. It is clean and well-stocked, although we did require some extra towels. The kitchen is nicely updated and terrace is peaceful and lovely. One note - the third bedroom requires navigating a steep set of stairs - located in one of the 2nd floor bedrooms - up to the third floor. Perfect for kids, but not ideal for some groups or older folks. Otherwise, we recommend it and would return!

Perfect

This house was perfect for our needs. It was exactly as described and as shown in the pictures. It was very clean, well maintained, in a perfect location and had a lot of charm. We had 5 adults and one infant in the house. Communication with both the owner and manager was fast and responsive. Check-in was painless.

Wonderful week in Lewes

We loved staying in the town of Lewes. My husband and I rode our bikes to the beach each day and my parents loved walking through Lewes and taking in the history, shops and restaurants. The house was great for us - a large kitchen area and a nice private patio. We like to cook so we really enjoyed the stocked kitchen.

Wonderful week in a lovely home

My husband and a friend of ours spent Thanksgiving week in this delightful home. It is large, but cozy. The well-appointed kitchen made our cooking and baking easy. The location is perfect - very easy walking distance to the downtown restaurants and shops. Restaurants we particularly enjoyed were; The Gate House, Agave, A Taste of Italy, Jerry's Seafood, and Kindle. It is a nice walk to the beach. An easy drive to the grocery stores and the outlets. We also enjoyed a beautiful autumn bike ride (to Rehoboth and through Cape Henlopen State Park) with bikes rented from Seagreen Bicycle. The homeowners were easy to work with and took care of everything.

Great!

My family returned this weekend from a week at this wonderful house. The house was super clean, thoughtfully and beautifully decorated and furnished, and it had really nice amenities (e.g., Viking stove and very nicely renovated bathrooms). The kitchen area is gorgeous, with wood beams/high ceiling and many windows and an open concept. We spent most of our time in that area and the adjacent sitting room, and I was happy it tempted us away from the small TV room. Everything was spotless when we arrived, which was really appreciated. Nice backyard for hanging out and we also hung around the front stoop and chatted with neighbors and watched passersby. The location is superb - we walked just 2-4 blocks to everything there was, though the beach is a longer journey, walkable but long and so we drove and parked with no problem - and the historic exterior adorable. Utensils, dishes, kitchen knives, laundry, coffee maker, bike, on and on, everything you need. Downsides: The space won't work for everybody. We were flexible and it worked, but it wasn't ideal. There is a master bedroom and a bedroom a few feet away with two twins. They share a large upstairs full bathroom in the hallway. The other full bathroom is on the first floor in the main area where no bedrooms are. There is a pull out couch in the adjacent room (the TV room). The other room is essentially an attic room with two twins. Cute and nice but a low low angled ceiling and you have to take stairs up to the room from inside of the master bedroom. The two sitting rooms on the first floor are cosy and very nice and very comfy, but small. No room for kids to play and no great room; just room for 4 unless you pull over a kitchen chair or two for two more people to squeeze in. So just FYI as to those possible limitations. If that's no issue for you, this was a wonderful house (A+, and we have been to beach houses for decades, though mostly we stay beachfront so staying in town was different but we liked it a lot) and the owner was great and made things easy and simple as they should be. We will be back. We loved the house, our week, and our first time in Lewes. Lewes felt like a small Cape Cod town, with cute restaurants, a few shops, park/canal front, and streets of cute historic homes. Good for families with small kids, as the town is quiet and calm and not much going on (15-20 minute drive to putt putt and movies and a boardwalk), and the beach is the bay with zero waves.
