You can lay low and cook all your own meals or eat right around the corner at Walker's Bluff.

Our goal is that you leave refreshed after spending time in nature and in the beautiful wildflower camper.

Some of our favorite hiking sites in Southern Illinois are not far away and if you want to hit the wine trail you can begin just minutes away!!

Cozy up with the book you have been meaning to read or binge on movies - just leave the stress behind!

Hangout by the campfire- in fact, keep a fire going all day!

Absolutely Amazing

Property was absolutely gorgeous and the host was incredible, super helpful and always responded to any questions quickly. The hosts dogs were also super friendly (both to people and dogs). Absolutely great place and will definitely be coming back again.

Relaxing in style

Great little private campground with luxury RVs. Perfect spot just to get away from the grind of normal life and just enjoy things.

It was a nice quiet place to relax. There were a few things i wish i would have known before arrival but they were minor. The host was very kind and attentive as far as if we needed anything and he responded quickly when we messaged.

Great weekend away

The location was perfect for a quiet relaxing weekend. The host was quick to communicate if we had any questions or issues. We are definitely planning another trip there very soon. It is close to shopping, the casino, and the wineries.

This was a luxury camping experience! The camper was very comfortable and communication with the host was easy and they were responsive. We loved having access to the hot tub as well. We will be back!

Most quiet and peaceful place ever been to. Hosts were wonderful, welcoming, friendly and helpful. The RV was big, clean and very well appointed. Hope to go again next year only for longer stay.

This was a wonderful stop for our family of 6 on our way from Chicagoland to Memphis. We loved it so much that we stayed on our way back as well, and my kids want to plan a trip to go back and stay for longer. The hosts were very responsive, the campers were perfectly stocked with what we needed, and the pups on property were sweet and playful.

Secluded getaway close to the casino

Stayed here for an evening in order to go to an event at the casino. It was really close and a lot more affordable than a hotel room at the casino. We didn't take advantage of the pool or lake, but other campers were swimming, kayaking and fishing and appeared to have a great time.

Great location and property hosts!

The location was perfect for hitting trails or parks around Shawnee but also Carbondale as well! Hosts were super friendly and easy to get in touch with. Camper was very clean and nicely set up, they also had very friendly dogs who came and gave us company as well. We will definitely be back!

PERFECT family getaway

We cannot say enough good things about our stay in DeSoto. The hosts are just the kind of hosts you hope for on all trips. They were extremely accommodating and their camp provides a beautiful backdrop for a family to come together to make memories. As we were pulling out of our piece of paradise, my kiddos were already trying to figure out when we could go back. Thank you Bold Family for an amazing stay and we can’t wait to come back.

Great Experience

Amazingly fun and great getaway on a budget! Camper was super clean, comfortable beds, AC works very well, all the kitchen utensils, pots and pans you could ever need. The lake is amazing! The water is so clear you can see a good 8’-10’ below the surface. We aren’t “fishermen”, but we did catch a few fish. The pool was great, and couldn’t have been any cleaner! We will definitely be back!

Amazing find nestled in the woods!

Everyone in my (well-traveled) party really loved the place! The trailer was very comfortable, classy and well appointed, and relatively spacious, sleeping six adults without too many problems, aside from the trailer rocking when people moved around which the owners said they'd hopefully try to fix. The property was very large and quiet, with a lake, dock and plenty of space to walk around and hike, but also not too far from stores and other local places. The owners were super helpful and communicative throughout, coming by to visit often and making sure our stay was excellent; we did have a few minor hitches with finding the place and a few lights and drains as this was there very first time renting the property, but they were very prompt at resolving them and should make sure they don't happen again.Owners had two dogs and two cats, who were all very friendly and we all enjoyed playing and hanging out with.Overall, highly recommended and would not hesitate to stay here again!

First Glamping Trip Was Fantastic

I cannot recommend glamping at this location enough! The host quickly responded to any questions via email before and during our trip and made sure we had everything we needed. The property is very clean and well taken care of. We stayed in the Puma and our friends stayed in the camper with the hot tub. There are three campers in all on the property. You can see the others, but you still have lots of privacy. The pool and hot tub is where we spent most of our time and enjoyed it tremendously. You'll have to drive up to the pool if you are taking much, but it's walkable if you aren't. We never got in the lake but couldn't believe how beautiful and clear it was, next time we are taking some tubes to float in it and fish! You will absolutely love the dogs "Puggly" and "Daisy" they will greet you several times a day and want to play catch. The pictures on the listing are exactly what they were when we arrived. We loved this property so much we are considering doing a family trip next year to the same location!
