About the host
Hosted by Leslie Smith
Tim and Leslie are retired teachers who reside in the Willow Wood Cottage for most of the year. We like to travel and have grandchildren in Colorado so have opened it up to guests when we aren't at home. We think this gives guests a more authentic Tahoe experience with all the amenities one would expect from a home that is lived in and not just a short-term rental.
We have lived on the West Shore of Lake Tahoe since 2010, but before that we lived nearby in the Sierra Foothills. With our three children we frequented the Tahoe area in all seasons for boating, biking, skiing, camping and enjoying the mountains. Both of us came to Tahoe as children with our families, and Tim spent a ski season here after college. We continue to ski, bike, paddle, and hike and our adult children and grandchildren spend as much time as they can here. Tahoe, in general, and this cottage holds special memories for us all.

Why they chose this property
We live in a quiet neighborhood with a mix of full and part time residents. We love the location- not too far from town, close to the amenities of Tahoe Park, and close to the lake.
What makes this property unique
Our property is unique in that is is located at the end of a narrow lane and backs onto a large piece of Forest Service property. It offers beautiful views in all seasons, wildlife viewing, easy hiking, biking, and x-country skiing/snowshoeing out the back door. A short walk through the woods or down the street takes you to the beach at Hurricane Bay.
