Fabulous eastern Nantucket - lovely and updated, light-filled and private. Want to spread out and enjoy the Atlantic Ocean and Sesachacha Pond in less then a mile? Take the bike path down to 'Sconset for breakfast or dinner? Then this estate is for you!

4 Brier Patch is a luxury vacation retreat with top of the line amenities. Perfect for enjoying friends and families on two floors of porches surrounded by hydrangeas. The large, beautifully-landscaped lot offers plenty of space to spread out in privacy. Open space surrounds the house offering Nantucket’s pristine beauty. Head east and bike to the beach ( ocean and an inland pond) less than one mile away or head west to the island’s bike path and a cranberry bog, just down the road.

Guests are welcome for a minimum of a week, staying from Friday to Friday.

Beautifully appointed, 4 Brier Patch is an upside down house with open floor plan, vaulted ceilings and master suites on each level. The main house has 4 bedrooms with 3 .5 baths and the cottage has one large studio with a queen bed and a full bathroom. Both masters access their own porches. On the second floor, you find the kitchen, powder room, dining and living room along with a huge master bedroom with jetted tub and an extra- large shower for two! The dining room has the best vantage point from which to watch the famous Nantucket sunsets. "Interior is lovely and spacious with the perfect beachy vibe", writes a renter.

The cathedral ceiling living room is bright and light with windows galore and opens onto a deck with a table and chairs. Enter the front door to the first floor and find 3 bedrooms, 2 baths, laundry room and sitting room with big screen tv and fireplace. First floor bedrooms open up to the deck.

Fantastic Property!!

We stayed at 8 MacLean with our two kids (4 and 2.5) at the end of August. The property was perfect for our needs. The central location was ideal for trips to the beach, Cisco or Town, and the house provided a perfect home base for relaxation. The house was very clean and comfortable, and well stocked with everything we needed; it's clear that the owners take a lot of pride in the place. The owners were also incredibly responsive to any questions we had. This is a great property!

8 MacLean is the perfect nantucket getaway

Our family of 6 with three kids and three adults had a blast staying in this wonderful, classic Nantucket home. It's the perfect distance from town center, the supermarket, and all the great beaches. Just far enough away from the hustle and bustle of town but only 5 minutes away by bicycle or bus. The bus stop is 3 houses down the street. Also very nearby are a great breakfast eatery and upscale wine and beer shop. But best of all, the home itself is just a perfect place to spend some time in between visits to the beach. Very well apportioned and comfortable with private spaces for everyone and a great front and back yard. We can't wait to visit again!

Lovely and immaculate five star Nantucket rental

This is our second stay at 8 Maclean Lane and we would return again and again! The house is immaculate - plenty spacious for our family of five to spread out and well appointed to make our stay easy and comfortable. House is airy and bright and with air conditioned bedrooms if needed for really hot summer nights. We like the central location with easy access to downtown, bike trails and beaches, especially Surfside. We loved biking to Sconset for breakfast at Claudettes , beautiful Surfside beach, sandwiches from Something Natural, checking out the late afternoon scene at Cisco Brewery and of course, sunsets on Madaket. Still many things left to do on our Nantucket list!!

Lovely house in Quidnet

My wife and two teenage sons spent six days at this house in August 2023. The house is pretty, spacious, and impeccably maintained, with an airy upper level, multiple decks, and an additional bedroom and bath above the separate carriage house/garage. It’s a three-minute drive to Quidnet beach and perhaps 10 minutes to ‘Sconset. A major bike path is accessible about a quarter-mile away. The grounds are beautifully maintained and the amenities are excellent. The house feels very private—Quidnet is a quiet place in general, and the house is separated from its closest neighbor by a substantial hedgerow. The owners were extremely helpful and responsive. We loved it!

Cute house and great location.

We arrived to a bottle of Rose! House was perfect for our family. Great updated kitchen and 4 bathrooms! So plenty of room. A great basement for teens to hang out in! House has been updated and was clean and comfortable. Located in mid island so close to everything. Great deck for eating dinner and hanging out. Owner checked in to make sure everything was good. We really enjoyed our stay and would rent again! Thank you Christine.

Perfect Nantucket Family Retreat

From the moment we started communicating with the the property manager about our stay she was responsive and thoughtful. We were welcomed to this beautiful home with wine and snacks which we have never received from another rental. It was so special! The house is extremely Nantucket chic-all updated appliances, heated floors, amazing jet showers and outdoor shower. The backyard is spacious and fenced in for ease of kids playing outside, there is an assortment of beach supplies for renter use in the garage which was so helpful! Honestly the best rental experience we have had and we can’t wait to return to 8 Maclean next year.

Convenient and comfortable near SurfSide

Great house - just as described and pictured. The important things for us - comfortable beds, nice bathrooms and linens and a great kitchen were all perfect. In fact, having been disappointed with past rentals, we brought more things to make our stay comfortable than we needed to!The back deck was also a perfect place to have breakfast, coffee, or drinks after dinner. We could not have been happier. The location is also incredibly convenient.

Definitely a Nantucket-vibe

We had a wonderful stay. The house is beautiful and a perfect place from which to experience Nantucket. Christine left very thoughtful touches to make our stay more enjoyable. The style of the house feels like Nantucket. The only reason I gave neighborhood a 4 was due to it is a “longish” walk to town. Biking there,however, was perfect!

We enjoyed our time at 8 MacLean. Very well kept house on nicely maintained property with privacy.

Very well kept home on nicely maintained property in a very convenient location. The house is as advertised with plenty of amenities, nice new appliances and just about everything you might need. It was a warm week so the bedroom air conditioners came in handy. The house is conveniently located with short easy rides to some of the beaches and town. Grocery store and some restaurants are within walking distance and our kids took advantage of the ball fields and basketball court at the schools not far away. We spent a lot of time on the deck in the backyard enjoying the pleasant evenings. Property owner was very responsive to answer any questions we had and we definitely felt like they were committed to providing us the best experience possible. We had a great week and would certainly go back to 8 MacLean.

Beautiful home and yard, well appointed and maintained.

Our family loved this home. The house is nicely decorated with updated appliances, bathrooms and comfortable beds. We especially enjoyed the backyard, deck and outdoor shower! Centrally located on the island with easy access to downtown and beaches. Owners are super nice and very responsive. Overall great experience.

Outstanding Home and Location

8 MacLean was an outstanding Nantucket rental. The location is convenient to town, multiple bike paths and beaches. The house is beautifully decorated with plenty of space for 2 adults and 2 teenagers, and all of the amenities were in great shape. The place was spotless, Chris was very responsive and helpful, and we had a great week. There are two wonderful breakfast/lunch places very close to the house, and the deck and back yard were very private and spacious. Made for a very relaxing week!

We absolutely loved this house and Nantucket! Great location with a wonderful coffe shop down the road! Would highly recommend Erine's taxi if you don't rent a car! Well maintained and comfortable for two couples! Will definitely stay here again!

Perfect rental home on Nantucket!

Chris house was an excellent rental home for our family. I would highly recommend it on many levels. The house is incredibly clean and well maintained. The finished basement and garage were a real bonus for our kids and storage of our gear. The private garden was extremely enjoyable after a day at the beach.Chris was a delight to work with and always available when we had questions. We can't wait to rent it again next summer!

Easy Access to Town and Beaches

We had a great time on Nantucket and are so grateful to Chris for renting her beautiful home to us. The location is perfect and the house has everything we needed for a comfortable and relaxing vacation. Our children (ages 13, 9, & 6) loved playing in the yard while my husband and I relaxed on the back deck. Beautiful!

Wonderful stay!

Stayed here with my wife and two kids, ages 12 and 10, for a wonderful week in August. Had stayed in Surfside before and knew that we wanted to be close to our favorite beach. Very lovely house tastefully appointed with ample sized bedrooms, modern kitchen and large living room. Furnished lower level basement as well. Deck with table and chairs in back all surrounded by well manicured landscape and enough room to play catch in backyard. Short bicycle ride to beach with rental shop (Easy Riders) close by and near other neighborhoods and downtown areas too. (Morning bike rides down well marked paths to Downeyflake Donuts and back became our routine!) Chris was extremely helpful with local knowledge in advance of our trip. Information about the property and handy tips to use while staying there was available to us too. We were so happy to stay at her home and already looking forward to next summer!

Perfect Beach House for Nantucket Vacation!!

This home is the ultimate beach getaway house! I am a returning visitor and love it more and more each time I visit! The kitchen has state of the art appliances and the bathrooms even have heated floors. The rooms are a great size with comfortable beds. There is even a spacious backyard with a deck perfect for grilling and enjoying drinks. The location is a short distance from the airport, beach, and the heart of Nantucket. The property is always clean and well maintained. I could not be happier with my stay. I will be back again!

Exceptional!!

This home is truly exceptional! For those with discerning tastes and high expectations, this home will not disappoint. The home is in pristine condition, incredibly clean, and absolutely beautiful (it is quintessential Nantucket style). The mattresses in every room are in great shape and very comfortable. The location is perfect (1.5 miles to downtown & 2 miles to Surfside Beach), so it's an easy walk or bike ride to both. There is also a grocery store nearby. It's very quiet and the yard is gorgeous. The owner, Chris, is a joy to work with and made the entire rental experience easy and pleasant. Once you talk with her, you can understand why her home is as beautiful, clean, and in as good as shape as it is…..her expectations are high and she has a tremendous attention to detail. Our entire family (two high-maintenance adults, a teenage girl, and elementary aged boy) loved everything about the home, and will stay here on our next trip to Nantucket.

Perfect Home on a Perfect Island!!!

What a terrific vacation and home!!! The photos don’t even do this lovely property justice. The house is crisp, amazingly clean, and has every modern convenience. My boyfriend loved cooking on the huge stove and barbecue out back while I could not get enough of the Jacuzzi tub and heated floors. The backyard is so private and lush, we spent most of our mornings in the sun relaxing with our books on the big deck. We rented bikes at Easy Rider down the block and were at the beach just about every day. Surfside has such gorgeous views and was only a 9-10 minute bike ride away from the house. Miacomet, the grocery store, and restaurants were also very close by bike, but I would say the whole island is very accessible thanks to all the newly paved bike paths! For runners, I used the bike path to Surfside Beach and Runkeeper told me it was exactly 2 miles (there and back 4 miles total). However, if you make a left before the water and run parallel to the beach you can get more distance. Getting into town was even easier. I loved the idyllic cobblestone streets and cute shops down the wharf. The restaurants were equally fantastic, we ate at Ventuno, Galley Beach, and a few others. We wanted to take a harbor cruise but asked too late – next year we will plan ahead better. ABSOLUTELY loved staying at 8 MacLean. Chris the owner is so nice and friendly and made sure our stay was hassle-free. Thank you for letting us into your house - this was my first time on Nantucket, but we are definitely coming back and already planning to stay here for future trips. What a perfect home on a perfect island!!!

Home away from home!

Everything about this property was absolutely fabulous! The location was perfect, close enough to everything but in a quiet neighborhood and with a very private setting! The house was immaculate, was well maintained and very nicely furnished! The owner had thought of everything that one could possibly ever need to make this vacation home feel like home!!! Pristine Home; Central Location

We enjoyed every minute of our Nantucket vacation with this immaculate and beautiful property as our home base. Location is perfectly central - close to downtown, close to beaches with bike paths nearby to bring you to any location on the island. We were pleased to find the home exactly as described and it's clear the owners make a huge effort to make their guests' stay both easy and comfortable. Perfect vacation accommodations!

I had an absolutely amazing time while staying at this home. From the moment I got to this immaculate property I felt absolutely relaxed and at home. You can tell the homeowner truly puts a lot of effort toward making sure no detail is overlooked for your stay. From the clean and airy home, great backyard, and even a little informational packet about the home/island, I will definitely be coming back to 8 Maclean for many, many years to come (as well as telling a few close friends about this great find)! For 30 years, we have been enjoying Nantucket. Our kids grew up fishing, clamming, scalloping here. We love the island in any season starting with Daffodil Weekend in late Spring when every nook and cranny is filled with the bright flowers to Christmas Stroll in early December. We love to share in the intensity of renters' fondness for this most special place and hope the house serves as a great jumping off spot for most special vacations.

We know as we rented for years in a dark, moldy, one bathroom cottage with thin mattresses and linens that weren't changed in 15 years!
