It is a very short walk to the white sandy beaches of the Gulf of Mexico where you can watch the dolphins swim. Restaurants, theater, shopping, groceries and drug store are all within walking distance, or hop on the public trolley for a short 10 minute ride to "downtown" Fort Myers Beach (Times Square) if you prefer. There is no need to rent a car or leave the island once you arrive - just sit back and enjoy.
