The location is excellent, right on the lake, a short trail walk to the shore, and the property is 70's chic, but it had not been properly cleaned and dusted. Spiders, spider webs, and Cobb webs, and lots of dust
As a renter you have to clean the place, including loading and unloading the dishwasher, stripping the beds and taking the trash out before you go, or you dont get your deposit back. Unlike any rental I've ever had before.
Since the renter has to do all of the cleaning, I'm not sure what the cleaning fee was for, really.
The dishes, cooking utensils and pots and pans had to be prewashed before use, as there was food left on them, probably after the last renters ran them through the diswasher, which didn't do a very good job. Also the stove had food in the burners from the last meal cooked before our arrival.
For what I paid per night, plus a cleaning fee and deposit. I expected more for that price, but was sorely disappointed. Some of the linen had to be washed before use as well. And the washer and dryer are old and the dryer didnt work at first, but the lady who was supposed to keep the place informed me that you had to set it at a certain spot, then it would work, but we had to put something behind the control to keep the dryer on, once it actually started.
My family and I had a great time, in spite of the cleaning and dust and poorly maintained property and appliances, because of the lake and being together.
I did get all of my deposit back, but not the cleaning fee, even though we did all of the cleaning. The WiFi was terrible and we never did get any programming on the TV. Cell service was also horrible.
I hope this helps, knowing exactly what you're getting in to if you rent this place. Oh, and they wanted us to take the trash off the property to a dumpster somewhere. Not cool, not sanitary, with the kids and carseats. Not sure what they were thinking.
