About this property
Green Man Grove: Forested Mountain Haven w/hot tub
Cozy mountain getaway tucked up in a beautiful neighborhood with plenty of privacy & spectacular winter views. Enjoy a stone fire pit in a forested setting while relaxing in the hot tub under starry skies - just steps away from the private entrance to your ground floor suite. A king sized bed awaits for your night’s hibernation - perhaps after popcorn & a movie - while the kitchenette, coffee bar & outdoor grill can provide the tastes of home. Come walk the mossy paths of our forested mountain! Newly renovated ground floor studio apartment with private entrance, king sized bed and a pull out couch (full size). Spacious bathroom with rainfall shower. Water is extremely pure mountain spring water that is microbe free (UV filtered). Gravity fed so not the strongest water pressure but serviceable. Charming kitchenette, coffee bar & outdoor grill provide opportunities for a home-away-from-home experience. Internet & extra large TV w/Netflix is provided (patience with mountain-paced wifi is required). Stone patio with firepit and hot tub are just outside the door. Come enjoy s’mores by the fire then lounge in the decadent comfort of the hot tub with a vast canvas of stars, moon and shooting stars above. The mountain air is fresh and cool, and our setting is quiet allowing you to hear the wind in the trees or the scuffle of squirrels, or perhaps in the early morning hours you’ll spot a small herd of deer or elk wandering by while you soak.

About the host
Hosted by Cat Doersch
Cat and David are your hosts. We work in the arts (music, theatre, etc.). David is an author and musician and teaches theatre at Western Carolina University and Cat is a professional drummer playing in two bands. We perform together in our band, Eireann's Call, a classy Celtic rock band (www.eireannscall.com). We have two cats, Harriet and Winifred (who are never allowed in the downstairs apartment). Our daughters are all grown. Two live in Massachusetts and one is in Miami.
We absolutely love hosting, and thoroughly enjoy how delighted our guests are on arrival when they take in the beauty of our mountain haven and the beautiful space we have recently renovated. We like to meet our guests initially but then give them privacy to enjoy their own secluded area with hot tub and stone firepit under starry skies…

Why they chose this property
We love our mountain, and the Panther Creek area is so beautiful and quiet. Sitting outside you can hear the wind in the trees, countless songbirds and the burble of the nearby stream. Peaceful! And yet, we're only a short drive from all the charm of downtown Waynesville - great restaurants and shopping. Forty minutes east and you're in Asheville with all of the fantastic experiences available there - museums, fine and casual dining, more breweries than you can imagine! Outdoor adventures await just a short drive from our home: horseback riding, kayaking, white water rafting, ziplining, trout fishing, hiking, waterfalls and more.
What makes this property unique
The views, the hot tub and the peaceful setting so close to all the outdoor adventures, fine dining and shopping this area is known for.
