About this property

Float the Buffalo River and see the stars during your stay. Pet friendly!

Relax with the whole family on your next get away. This home is located 3 miles from the Baker's Ford access to the Buffalo River.
We have everything you need! A beautiful, clean, well-furnished kitchen, spacious dining room and three comfortable bedrooms, plus additional beds. Two bathrooms, one has a vintage blue tub. The other (just installed 05/2024) features a shower and is located in the large laundry room.
There are toys and games for kids and adults. Come and relax at the Buffalo!
The space
3 bedrooms: Bedroom 1 has a queen bed. Bedroom 2 has a queen bed and a twin bed. Bedroom 3 has 4 twin beds.
2 full bath: the main bathroom has a bathtub. There is a handheld shower attachment for the faucet. The second bathroom is colocated with the laundry room.
Large dining room
Beautiful, updated kitchen with microwave, oven, range, dishwasher and full-size refrigerator
There are 2 living spaces with sofa beds. The main living area also has a couch with recliners. The TV, toys, books and games are also located in the living areas.
There are also two desks. One desk can be moved to the dining or living room to provide an additional table, if needed. Stools for it are located in each of the bedroom closets.
This is an older home. We are the second owners. It has been well-maintained with some updates over the years, and we hope to improve it while keeping its original charm. Currently only the bathroom, kitchen and storm door windows can be opened as the others are sealed to help control the indoor climate.
Guest access
All of the home is available for guest use. The garage is locked and used for storage. The front, back and side yards are also available during your stay. At some times of year there will be farm animals located in the fields and there are often wild animals in the area. The home is very secluded with lots of outdoor space.

Family Trip

The home is tucked away from any neighbors, which we loved. It was very quiet and peaceful.

Great house for big families

The house was spacious, perfect for our large group. It’s in a quiet, peaceful location not far from the Buffalo. We enjoyed mornings sipping coffee on the front porch. The kitchen is large and well stocked.

Peaceful starry sky

The location was perfect! We enjoyed the kitchen and dinning room. We had 11 people in our group and it was nice to all gather in the kitchen and dining room while cooking meals. The night sky was awesome. We saw stars we never seen. If you have a big group, this is the place!

About the host

Hosted by Derek Curtis

Host profile image
Our family of eight moved here after Derek retired from the Army. We have lived many places, including Arizona, Utah, California, Washington, Kansas, Oklahoma, Alaska and South Korea. Oklahoma was our favorite, so we came to the South to stay! We chose the Ozarks because of the incredible natural beauty and the people. We ended up in Saint Joe because we wanted space and the closeness of a small community.

Why they chose this property

We live on the neighboring property. We have been here about three years and were excited to have the opportunity to buy a second home here. We hope that in the future at least some of our kids will choose to stay nearby and we wanted space for them and for our animals.
Saint Joe has felt like home since the first time we visited! We love the privacy and space. We enjoy hobby farming and gardening. And we love our community!

What makes this property unique

We are within 20 minutes of several access points to the Buffalo River. Baker Ford is just three and a half miles away. Woolum in about eight miles and Tyler Bend, Grinder's Ferry and Gilbert are all a short drive away.
When you get back from floating the river you'll have all the comforts of home. Since we are next door, you are welcome to visit the animals as well. In the spring and summer we usually have babies around the farm which is always fun!
