About this property
Artopia! Modern Luxury in the Foothills on 40 Acres - Mtn Biking & Skiing
Welcome to the Wonka Ranch! This gorgeous 6000 sf home sits on 40 acres at 8000 ft just 20 min west of Golden, Colorado at the gateway to the Rocky Mountains. Full of gorgeous artwork, this modern masterpiece boasts scenic views of huge peaks to the west and wildlife viewing out every door and window. Spread out over 3 levels, each guest has their own serene space to relax and enjoy nature. Chose your own adventure whether it be skiing, biking, climbing, hiking, rafting, fly fishing and more!
You have the entire house and 40 acres to yourselves. You will be checked in personally by our house manager that lives two miles away. Therefore we have strict check-in hours between 10am and 7pm. You need a car and a 4WD may be necessary in winter months. The house manager offers a concierge service for groceries and such.
We have a no pet policy. The house does not have AC but at 8000 ft in Colorado, AC is not necessary. Just crack the windows and you will be greeted with a lovely breeze. This is a non-smoking property both inside and out. There is a fire pit on the top of the property that is closed and guests are not permitted to use it by the county. Fire danger in recent years in Colorado is very scary and we are not permitted any outdoor fires.
Since the Wonka Ranch is about beauty and the outdoors, we do not provide cable TV service. You are welcome to stream any services you subscribe to on any of the smart televisions in the house. The closest grocery store is 20 minutes away and there are no food delivery services in the area. You need to plan for meals and food in advance of arrival to the property.

About the host
Hosted by Tina McLaughlin

Hello! We have been married for 22 years. Sean is from Columbus OH and Tina is from Denver CO. We recently moved to South Carolina and split our time between there, Colorado and Costa Rica. We have 2 adult kids. We have a Shih poo fur baby named Suki. We love to travel, bike, rock climb, ski and seek adventure in fun new places.
Why they chose this property
We chose the Wonka Ranch location because of the vast and beautiful scenery and the close proximity to biking, skiing, climbing and hiking. Yet we are a mere 20 minutes to Golden, 40 minutes to Denver and easy access to DIA.
What makes this property unique
The Wonka Ranch is a unicorn among unicorns. There is nothing as luxurious in the middle of the rugged wilderness yet close to it all.
