Be sure to enjoy a breakfast, lunch, or drinks at the Snack Shack on the beach under a palapa with great live music. If you love to cook your own seafood, head across the street to The Fish Lady where the various seafood is fresh caught every day. She has the best seafood chowder and lobster rolls! Mad Beach Cafe has awesome açaí bowls, smoothies, breakfast foods, sandwiches, and coffee. Rolled ice cream after a sunset is always called for at Roll It in the strip mall by 7-11 across the street. Dockside Dave’s, a couple of blocks South, serves the famous world renowned grouper sandwich and grouper bites, and our daughter, Brooke is a server there! They are very casual, outdoor patio dining with great seafood for a reasonable price. About 5 minute walk. Famous John’s Pass is a 5 minute drive South on Gulf Blvd., where you will enjoy shopping, eateries, bars, live music, Calypso dinner cruise, jet ski rental, dolphin watch boat tour, sunset boat tour, deep sea fishing tour, pirate ship tour, numerous pelicans scrapping for bits of fish from the fresh catches hauled in, and much more. Seminole plaza is 7 minutes away to enjoy the movie theater that brings your food and drink order to your seat. Just push the button to order! Gulfport is a fabulous, artsy community with eateries, art, shopping, brewery, beach, and is only a few miles away. Clearwater Beach is a few miles North on Gulf Blvd where you can visit the marine aquarium, or visit Weeki Wachee for kayaking or mermaid show. Tarpon Springs is a fabulous Greek Community with the BEST Greek food and bakeries up and down the main strip. Walk along the Spongedocks to see all of the sponges from the Gulf, and learn how the divers bring us our sponges. Incredibly interesting and fun. Swim with the manatees (Dec-April) or take a boat tour to view the manatees at Crystal River. Or rent one of their water bikes or kayaks to view them. This will be a memory! Enjoy the International Mall, historic YBOR City, and all that Tampa has to offer. Take the little ones to Smuggler’s Cove miniature golf which has live alligators and is a short walk up Gulf Blvd. Our favorite spot is St. Pete Pier and downtown St. Pete. Doc Ford’s Rum Bar & Grille at the southern end of the overlook has fun Florida vibes, live music, and great food. Pier Teaki is a hot spot to kick back and enjoy food and drinks on the rooftop overlooking Tampa Bay. St. Pete beach is definitely worth a visit while in the area. Maybe enjoy a spa day at the famous, award winning Don Cesar Hotel with a day pass. Maybe you just would like a simple swim in the heated pool or hot tub, enjoying the marina water view.
