It's time to kick back and relax in this beautiful rustic country home. Perfect for a family vacation as well as a small group getaway. This country home is in the woods on 5 private acres on a dead end road & is pure paradise, privacy and serenity. Our spacious home has 3 queen sized beds, 2 full sized beds (futons) and 2 twin beds so everyone gets a good nights sleep after a busy day! There are also 2 brand new full bathrooms & a 1/2 bathroom. Relax on the front deck or the rear screened in porch with a glass of wine or a cold beer while the BBQ grills your steaks & hot dogs. Build a fire in the backyard pit for smores later. During the day you have so many outdoor things to choose from like hiking, skiing, mountain biking, whitewater rafting, paint balling, festivals to name a few. Walk through the village in downtown Jim Thorpe & get acquainted with all the vintage shops. Lakes, parks & trails everywhere. Get acquainted with Jim Thorpe and our home and you will fall in love!

ALL THE COMFORTS OF HOME: Our home also features high speed wireless internet (bring your own device), 2 high definition flat screen TV's, dishwasher, firewood in the winter for the full stone wall fireplace, a washer, a dryer and more privacy than you can imagine. Enjoy a family/holiday dinner at the oak table with a roaring fire nearby.

Cathedral ceilings and a family room with 15 windows brings the country view into our home. We not only rent our home, we enjoy it too. There is a tranquility and peacefulness the moment you enter the long private driveway that you just can't get anywhere else. You will definitely know you are in the country yet our home & kitchen is stocked with items to make your stay easy.

If you prefer adventure to total relaxation...there's plenty to do nearby for everyone in your family. DOWNTOWN JIM THORPE VILLAGE (10 minute drive) is absolutely adorable. Tour an old jail, Packer Mansion, shop in all the little unique stores in the heart of this country village. Eat in quaint restaurants or sports bars & get to know the town. Mountain bike rentals also in the heart of town.

Awesome Hidden Gem!
Sis and I will definitely be visiting again! The owner is respectful, professional and friendly. "Thank you Catherine!" We stayed over the Thanksgiving Holiday, along with our 2 doggies and the minute we walked inside we ended up staying another day! Wide open floor plan, perfect for a larger group. All of the amenities you could ask for, including if the family is interested in TV, you have many selections of channels! Outdoor screened in patio with propane grill, inside stone fireplace (complete with wood) and a property that is surrounded by the forest and more rhododendron's than I've seen in my lifetime! Quick 7 miles drive into Jim Thorpe downtown area! Next trip we will shop for groceries, beer and liquor when we arrive, as there are all 3 in one group as you enter Jim Thorpe! Would have saved us more room in the SUV and room for the doggies! You'll love this property! Trust us, the pictures can't show the true beauty and tranquility you'll experience! With so much to see in the area, this house was the perfect "hide-away" although close to everything. Booking and communication with the owner was easy and the house offered everything you'd expect.

Great place to see the Poconos!
This house worked perfect for myself, my wofe, and two kids. Plenty of space and very functional. Great location close to hickory run and not far from the raceway. We would stay again for sure!

Great secluded location
My husband and two sons stayed in this property over Thanksgiving. This is our 2nd stay here. We also had our two dogs. Wonderful secluded location, so fantastic to walk the dogs and enjoy being alone. Cabin is very warm and cozy. Some outlets will not charge iPads and nearly all lamps are turned on and off by lamp switches not wall switches which makes finding light controls challenging. Kitchen is well equipped but I brought a lot with me to cook a full Turkey and all sides. Best to bring towels (supplied ones are a bit thin) with you but sheets and comforters are nice. Catherine is very responsive and helpful. Overall very pleased again with this rental. A bit disappointed to have to do laundry but easily done. Thank you for your responsiveness and your willingness to accept dogs. It’s a great location for them to enjoy themselves.

We stayed here while participating in Spartan Races at Blue Mountain. Catherine made checking in & out a breeze and was very accommodating. There were no problems. The house is spacious. The living room and dining room form one large space (with cathedral ceilings), separated from the kitchen by a counter. A great place to hang out with the kitchen cooks without getting in the way. There are plenty of countertop appliances and everything worked. The house was clean when we arrived. The third bedroom is actually 2 futon couches out on an enclosed porch, so anyone who wants a bit more privacy should vie for the master bedroom. Sitting out on the front deck, we heard lots of birds singing in the woods - the Veerys were great. This house is worth renting if you want to stay in the Poconos.

My wife and I spent a 4 day weekend celebrating our 40th anniversary. Not only was it a great place to stay it was also peaceful and quiet and an overall lovely experience. The property was convenient to the town and all attractions. I would highly recommend this property.

Secluded comfortable cabin
My wife and I look for pet-friendly cabins that have at least a few acres of property surrounding them to ensure privacy, and that are in areas that are close to scenic locations. This cabin fit the bill perfectly for us and our two German Shepherds. It was spacious and comfortable and had everything we needed to make our 4 night stay very enjoyable. The location was excellent and allowed close access to several state parks and the beautiful town of Jim Thorpe. The owner was very accommodating and helpful. If you’re looking for a rental in this part of PA, this cabin is a great find!

Nice cabin needs a few things
Needs master bath door fixed it sticks. Needs more lights silverware ice cream scoop a few big serving spoons some basics that I’m sure were there at one time. I believe someone takes care of this for the owner because the tv cart and under was filled with dust as were radiators and master ceiling had a few sets of spider webs. We had to buy wood although they had plenty it would not burn I belt they were sold unseasoned wood. Would also have liked curtains to cover the beautiful doors going into the sunroom for privacy this is what they call third bedroom. We also could not keep the stove in that sunroom going it kept going out. Very nice cabin just needs the owners to go in and fix the little things overall a nice stay

Getaway Cabin
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this secluded, wooded property. The cabin was spacious and we enjoyed hanging out in the evenings by the indoor fireplace after spending the day in the town of Jim Thorpe. The only thing I would point out is leave time the morning of checkout to get sheets and towels washed and dried as part of checkout. We also had trouble with the dishwasher but it wasn’t a big deal and owner was made aware. All in all would highly recommend this get a way cabin.

Our family lives on busy Long Island which affords us wonderful waterfront and beaches. We have extended family in PA and wanted our own piece of paradise nearby so we ventured out in 2003 and bought this warm, charming, country home. It was love at first sight!

Why they chose this property

When looking for a vacation rental I wanted something my own family would enjoy too. I wanted a country feel in the woods to get us away from our hectic lives. This home is 10 miles off Route 80 at Exit 284. It's just 110 miles from NYC. It was in the perfect location. Extremely private, easy to get to, only a few hours drive and plenty of things to do in the surrounding area. I hope your family loves this home as much as mine does.

What makes this property unique

The family room is my paradise. There are 15 floor to ceiling windows for a panoramic view of the woods. This is where you'll see wild life grazing or just passing through. You'll see for yourself if you join us!
