About this property

This house is a 4 bedroom(s), 3.5 bathrooms, located in Raleigh, NC.

Designed by local renowned architect, Tina Govan, our brand new, 4 bed/4 bath family home is in the heart of Downtown Raleigh, in a quiet and charming Historic district. It's an easy stroll to neighborhood shops, restaurants, bars, cafes, and parks. Unwind in our spacious, fully fenced backyard, under the shade of a giant pecan tree and fruiting fig tree, where kids can be kids in an epic tree house with swing and tons of outdoor toys — kids bikes included! It's a perfect set-up for entertaining a big group or a cozy spot for that much-needed family time.

The location is the perfect balance between city walkability and quiet, safe, family neighborhood. We're right across the street from Historic Oakwood Cemetery, where neighbors walk, kids ride bikes, play in the creek, and visit historic markers from past presidents and famous southerners.

We’re an easy commute by foot or car to all things downtown (1 mile or less to attractions including Marrimon-Wynne, Red Hat Amphitheater, the Convention Center, and NC State Campus).

By city standards, our backyard is huge. There's a new Weber chef's grill, outdoor dining and lounge furniture, large sandbox, a garden with blackberries, tomatoes, figs and fresh herbs (for you to pick and enjoy), and an expansive, fruiting pecan tree and tree house. Our kids LOVE the yard and spend hours climbing, digging, swinging, running, and being wild kids.

We live here full-time, so the house is well-equipped with anything you’d ever need to entertain your group. You’ll have access to the whole house including free-range of our well-stocked, dine-in kitchen: dining table that expands to seat 12, double dishwashers, ice maker, large fridge and separate deep freezer, double ovens, double induction range (for many cooks working together in the kitchen), espresso machine, drip coffee maker, Kitchenaid stand mixer, Vitamix, air frier, All Clad pots and pans, and many other high-end kitchen tools and gadgets.

The house layout is an open floor plan with a large a sunroom attached to the den, and a kid play zone. The main gathering space opens up to a patio with outdoor dining, grill zone, fire pit, cold plunge pool, and expansive (fenced) backyard.

On the second floor, you'll find three bedrooms. The primary suite is very private and with tons luxury amenities — spacious shower with handmade tile, double shower heads, built-in speakers, and jetted soaking tub. With the tap of a screen, the shower converts to a steam room. If you’re into pilates, yoga or meditation, head up to the loft above the sleeping space for a session on our pilates studio reformer, padded floor mats, yoga gear, bluetooth speaker, and essential oil diffuser. From the loft, there’s a gorgeous view and a secret hatch that leads to the roof top deck. Or enjoy a cup of coffee on the suite’s private balcony, with views of Raleigh’s skyline.

Down the hall, you’ll find a large office with panoramic views of natural, tree-lined open space over the neighborhood. Jam out on our studio musician electronic drum set and electric piano. From there, our laundry is conveniently next to the kid’s room and guest room, as is the full bathroom, cozy kiddo corner, and a family den with an 85" TV. Second floor bedrooms are double insulated to cut down on ambient noise from the TV or other’s enjoying the home.

The third floor is our expansive guest suit, with a kingsize bed in the sleeping loft, a queen size pullout sofa (and it's comfortable!), full bathroom, wet bar with a euro fridge/freezer, large TV, BOUNCE HOUSE, Peleton Bike and exercise gear. But best of all is the rooftop deck with gorgeous views of the downtown skyline and surrounding neighborhood. The rooftop deck has a huge sun umbrella, outdoor dining for 6, comfortable lounge sofas, and a bar top for entertaining with afternoon cocktails.

This house really is the total package for anyone looking to relax, live like a local, and soak-in Raleigh’s downtown district.

Location wise, expect drive time to these popular areas:
5 min to WakeMed
10 min to Duke Raleigh Hospital
10 min to North Hills
15 min to Crab Tree/Midtown
15 min to the RDU Airport

Because this is our personal home, we live by the golden rule. We expect our guests to respect our home, belongings and neighbors as if they were their own.

You'll have access to the whole house, save for a few locked closets.

Other Things To Note: We have a small, private granny flat next to the house, which is completely separate with no shared spaces. The entry is separated and private from our home. Sometimes we rent this space to a very well-vetted travel nurse. Because it's separated, we almost never cross paths with the person living there. Consider them a nextdoor neighbor just like any other.

Five Stars, Perfect Place!
Awesome house! Awesome location! Awesome host! We stayed with our kids while visiting family, and the listing is true — it’s got everything you could ever want in a perfect vacation rental. We loved this place and plan to stay here again next time we’re back in Raleigh. The best part of this house is how easy it is to entertain. We cooked huge family dinners with everyone, putting the kitchen and grill to good use. The kids played in the treehouse THE WHOLE TIME we stayed. They really didn’t want to leave. We finished many of our evenings on the rooftop deck watching the sun set over the Raleigh skyline. So memorable! Emily gave us tons of recommendations around the neighborhood. Many of them are within walking distance, like a farmers market, mom and pop wine store, French restaurant, funky deli, and a few neighborhood bars. Everything we tried we liked, especially Crawford and Sons and Stanbury. Must sees in the neighborhood. She even suggested a personal chef (who’s also a local farmer) to come to the house for a pasta making class. It was so much fun! The chef exclusively brought ingredients from her farm and shared many stories about her travels, southern food culture and small farming. So cool! Highly recommend!
