Amazing Stay

Great stay at the perfect spot for our family. The house met all our needs and the staff was exceptional in their responses for our needs. Loved being walking distance from town and all our needs. This place would be tops on our list if we ever return.

Property is exactly as advertised. Close to town and the marina. Be prepared for the hills to the house to be steep.

Short stay

The property is clean with A/C and friendly staff close by & ready to help with directions, rides, etc. Without a car, the road leading to the house is quite steep and a bit of a challenge to walk up. We were closer to Quepos than Manuel Antonio but overall did enjoy our stay.

Nice Lodge

Very nice house with lots of wood flooring and wall paneling. Located in a wooded gated area of Quepos, with no noise & mountain-like views. Well furnished with two large bedrooms, an open floorplan, & nice deck. Pool is small but very refreshing on warm days. Very nice staff, helpful with directions and all requests.

Paradise

If you stay here you wont be disappointed, wildlife is right there..Staff are incredible from Gustavo on the gate(great security) to Julio in the office answering all questions on Whats app at all hours. Only tough part is the parking outside, its pretty bumpy, and you tend to slide a little, but dont let that put you off..pool is small but perfect for cooling off.

Wildlife! Proximity to civilization.

We loved Manuel Antonio Estates. This place is situated very close to the town of Quepos, yet secluded. And being in this area, you are right in the jungle! Howler Monkeys, White Faced Monkeys (Capuchin), Toucans, all around you. The name, Casa Macaw is quite appropriate. The Scarlet Macaws were so close! I got up every morning before the sun to listen to the jungle come alive. Breathtaking! And when you're ready to go to town? So close! I would highly recommend this place to anyone.

Beaurtiful Villa

The property was very clean, well equipped with beautiful views of the jungle. Dorit and staff were so helpful with all of our questions. Helped us with planning excursions, car rental, transportation to the airport and directions. The waterfall rappelling was our favorite, but zip lining, white water rafting were also really great! Everything with the excursions were done for us, transportation, fess, and booking. and all of the companies were excellent. The restaurant suggestions were great. We had trouble with our air conditioning unit one morning and they responded very quickly and it was repaired before we got back at the end of our day.

Great Property for Wildlife Viewing

Don't pass up on this property. Elevated in a forest setting. We were greeted by a troop of squirrel monkeys, toucans foraging in nearby trees and red macaws flying overhead. Daily event included all of these plus capuchin monkeys on the deck. The property is well appointed and comfortable. Staff was fabulous allowing check-in at 11:30 after our long drive from La Fortuna. Entrance is located on the main road through Manual Antonio with restaurants shopping etc. only 5 minutes away and directly adjacent to Quepos. Best value for our money on our trip which included 3 rental properties. This is a very secure, gated community of homes which are elevated on a large hillside. When we return, we will book with Manual Antonio Estates.

Hidden gem in the canopy

We greatly enjoyed Casa Macaw! Full kitchen with a grocery nearby to do all of our cooking. Ample sized living room with a comfortable couch from which to gaze out the picture window and spy the scarlet macaws flying by. The best part of this house is its balcony and proximity to the trees! Every afternoon between 3 and 5, the troop of Titi monkeys bounds through and the trees by the balcony are their super highway. We spent many days in the hammock during these times enjoying the shenanigans. The house comfortably accommodated my husband and I and our twin 13 year olds. It is perfectly located near grocery stores and dinning, and provides a convenient home base when traveling to the surrounding attractions. We loved Manuel Antonio estates, the staff, and Casa Macaw. We hope to return in the next few years and will definitely book this house again!

Casa Macaw

We enjoyed our time at Casa Macaw very much!! The best part was viewing wild life right from the house! We were able to watch a sloth in the trees every day we were there! We also saw monkeys! The location was very nice! The waterfall on the property, while a bit difficult to get to, was beautiful!! The pool was also very enjoyable. The house has everything you could need including a washer and dryer which was very appreciated! The showers had minimal pressure. The rain was very loud on the tin roof and there were tiny little bugs in the house that were impossible to avoid but I suppose that’s the way it goes in Costa Rica. Sarah was a very nice receptionist and answered our questions and accommodated our needs. Overall, we had a great stay and I would recommended this location.

Better than the pictures

My little family and I arrived at the property fairly late in the evening.. the check in was very smooth and Angie came to the house to show us where everything was and made us feel very welcomed. That night however, there was an issue in the home (I won’t go into detail) but it was unpreventable and unforeseeable. Angie, Dorit, and the rest of their team were able to fix the issue very quickly and stayed in constant communication with me during the process. As far as the home goes, it is perfect. It’s better than what the pictures show. If you’re looking for a hideaway feel, but close to everything you’ll need... this is the place for you! We will definitely be returning to Manuel Antonio Estates. Oh and if you hear the banging on the roof, don’t fret... it’s just the monkeys. 🤣

Wonderful Stay...Wish it was Longer!

We loved our stay at Casa Macaw! The house is cozy; feels like a cabin in the jungle, with the beautiful teak wood everywhere. All details in the house were taken care of; kitchen appliances and utensils, laundry (including detergent), even the current Lonely Planet book for Costa Rica. There were tons of towels. pillows and beds were very comfy. Air conditioning was quiet and efficient. What makes the place shine though, is definitely the staff at Manuela Antonio Estates, in particular Jessica, who checked us in, and made sure we had everything we needed, which included a cell phone loaded with her number and local eateries for delivery. Also, thank you to Dorit, who was available when I called from Canada and made booking so easy. We greatly appreciated the communication from her about arriving, which included details about restaurants on the way and directions to the Crocodile bridge, which we passed on our way from San Jose. The grounds and pool were frequently attended to. The Estates are just on the edge of Quepos and we especially enjoyed the 20 minute hike from the end of the road of the Estates, to the a gorgeous waterfall and swimming hole, where we were the only people. Thank you for the directions Dorit! The drive to Manuel Antonio is easy and takes about 10 minutes. Along the way are great restaurants, which we usually went to for dinner. If you want to stay in, you'll be amazed if you order pizza. We couldn't believe how quick it came, even in torrential rain and lightning storm on a scooter! And delicious and hot! To top off our experience in Manuel Antonio, we saw Macaws twice, A Toucan once and one afternoon, we were beneath the squirrel Monkeys passing through the area. We'd guess maybe close to 100?! We could see them coming through the trees and jumping from one tree to the ones across the road, practically over our heads, then through the branches and trees past our patio. It was thrilling! As this was our first trip to Costa Rica, I was worried about bugs, and spiders and I'd heard ants could be a problem. We had a few ants, but really was no a big problem. We loved every part of Costa Rica and our favourite place was Casa Macaw at Manuel Antonio Estates! You can't go wrong staying here!

Casa Macaw

Casa Macaw was a nice little house that was clean and stocked with necessities. The view from our balcony and our patio was lovely. It was close to town and Manuel Antonio Park. The staff was friendly and helpful. I felt safe inside the gated community. Gustavo, the gate guard, had a nice smile. Watching the monkeys, birds, and lizards that were around was icing on the cake!

Pleasant stay

We had a lovely time at Casa Macaw. Sarah, who checked us in, was lovely. She gave us her cell number so she was available to answer any questions at any time. Although the pool was small (which we knew ahead of time) it was big enough for my 8 year old to enjoy and for adults to cool off in on a hot and humid day. We loved all the iguana;s that came by daily and even saw a group of squirrel monkeys on the property. We enjoyed our stay! Thank you.

In Love with Macaw House

Casa Macaw is just amazing, surrounded by nature but also close to Quepos Downtown and the beach. The house is perfectly equipped with everything you may need to make you feel like home, was also SUPER clean and organized. The WI-FI connection was perfect to work remotely I'm simply in love with it.

Exceeded Expectations

House was stocked with coffee, detergent, paper products and fresh fruit. Beds were extremely comfortable. Daily maid and pool service. But what made this place very special were the concierges Dorit and Angela, and the animal visitors. Dorit and Angela booked transportation to and from the airport, prearranged some excursions before we arrived, recommended and booked excursions and restaurants while there, met us at the house late to give us a tour even though our flight was very delayed, and sent us a birthday cake when they learned we were celebrating two that week. Added to that were early morning visits by groups of squirrel monkeys on our roof and pool deck, Entertainment by capuchin monkeys close by, fly-bys by macaws, and iguanas around the house. Prepare to get some exercise. The house is at the top of a steep hill, but makes it the perfect setting to see wildlife. We made many treks into downtown Quepos and the marina. A short ride to the beach, restaurants and park in Manuel Antonio.

Wonderful place to stay

Great location, super attentive and helpful staff, nice and clean house with everything you might need. Two things to note: the couch does not pull out, and the driveway is really steep, definitely bring a 4x4. Water pressure is pretty low but hot water was always at the ready, AC in every room. Monkeys come to visit almost daily between 4 and 5pm.

Wonderful Property!

My family of four really enjoyed this property. The house was super well stocked with everything, from towels, to paper products, to sunscreen and bug spray! The location is perfect. Secluded, yet walking distance to town, and close to Manuel Antonio. Cleaning lady came daily..what a plus!

You have your own zoo in the backyard

Casa Macaw was an absolutely amazing experience. Situated in the rainforest with steep topography giving you a very secluded feel to it. Very helpful hosts at the office always making sure you have a perfect stay and will get you hooked up with any last minute excursions you want to do. House maids available to come and clean daily if you choose. The inside was very clean with excellent air conditioning. Outside the West window had our morning visit from our favorite iguana, Igor. Daily visits from macaws and two different types of monkeys. Very close to beaches and great, authentic restaurants. Will be here again next year.

Satisfactory

We stayed at the Casa McCaw for 5 nights. Pros: we enjoyed lounging in the pool in the early evenings watching the monkeys swinging thru the trees above us. We also enjoyed sitting out on the balcony in the mornings watching the McCaws, which we think were nesting in a tree down the street. Cons: really bad parking. We usually had to park down the hill and walk up to the house, as the driveway entrance was so unlevel and there was not enough clearance for our SUV and we risked damaging the bottom of the car. Additionally, there is not much parking on the street close by and was usually taken, hence the reason we had to park down the hill. Another disappointment was the water pressure in the house, I like decent water pressure when taking a shower and this house had very poor pressure.

A charming home tucked in the jungle.

This was our second year staying at Casa McCaw. We simply love this property. It's clean and very comfortable. We had daily visits from Titi and white faced monkeys along with toucans and beautiful macaws. Our morning wake up calls came from owls and laughing falcons. The staff was very helpful and a special thank you to Maday who made our visit so welcoming by arranging a taxi service to shopping details or whatever your personal needs may be.

Paradise in the trees

The house is beautifully situated on a steep hillside where you feel like you are in a tree house. We spent many hours on the outdoor porch and deck where everyday we saw iguanas, monkeys and macaws, along with other animals. You truly feel at one with the environment at the house. Although you are very close to other houses you barely notice them due to the steep terracing of the land that off-sets them vertically. Staff was always helpful. House had everything you could need. Only downside was the super steep driveway and single parking space that is difficult to maneuver; gratefully we had an all wheel drive vehicle because it was very slick in the rain.
