About this property

Welcome to Cedar Ledge! 270 Degree View of Lake Champlain

The Best and Closest View of Lake Champlain hands down, no question. It doesn't matter if you are cooking breakfast inside or grilling on the deck during happy hour, you will feel like you're on the flybridge of a boat because all you see is water. Seagulls glide by at eye level as you secretly watch all the action on the broad lake. Weather fronts are easily spotted coming through the Adirondack Mountains across the lake 11 miles away. Boaters and fisherman can check the lake while your still in bed, others can enjoy the beach, ending with sunsets on the deck and a fire in the sand (Lake water is clean with sandy bottom, no weeds). This is not a big cottage but the view is breathtaking. A king bed in one room and built-in bunk bed in the other. Private stairs go down to the water. 1/3 mile to bike path/causeway, 1 mile to park, 2 miles to river boat launch and 3 miles to Bay launch, 7 miles to downtown Burlington. Grocery, pizza, ice cream, 4 miles. Check your stress at the door and enjoy a secluded piece of paradise with a 270 degree view of the Lake and sunsets behind the Adirondack Mountains. Very clean, just remodeled with VT pine and huge sheets of glass so your view is Crystal Clear no matter what the weather. (Lightening Storms- if your lucky) Linens, towels, coffee maker, ice, microwave, cable/dvd/internet, washer-dryer, air conditioning and silverware supplied.

Beautiful View

The view was absolutely stunning. We enjoyed relaxing on the deck and taking in the view of the ADK Mountains. It was a great location with it being so close to Burlington.

Perfect Fall Getaway!

My husband and I visited Vermont the first week of October, and despite the crazy tourist traffic we were warned about, this property was a perfect oasis! The view of Lake Champlain was amazing, and falling asleep listening to the waves was so peaceful! The host was so wonderful and responsive, and the property was equipped with everything needed to make our stay absolutely perfect. We are hoping to be back again very soon!!

Great Place!

My husband and I loved staying here. We couldn’t have picked a better place to experience the total eclipse. The view from the deck was perfect and the water views were outstanding. The place was very clean and exceeded my expectations. With all the windows It felt like we were on the bow of a ship. We are already discussing when we can come back.

Enjoyable stay, subpar communication

We loved the location in Colchester right on the lake, just a short drive to many restaurants & breweries in Burlington. Kayaks & bikes for our 4 family members was very appreciated and convenient. With that said, a huge selling point for this property was the steps onto the beach shown in the listing. We arrived to find it had been completely washed away by the flooding & high water levels that persisted this past summer. The water was above the bottom of the stairs and when the water was clear we could see all the sand has been washed away. While we’re very understanding this is not the fault of the property owner, we were given no prior notice & when I reached out to ask about it, the reply was “the property is exactly as listed” which was a disappointing start to our vacation. Fortunately there was a very small pebble beach (with lots of branches/debris) on the other side of the house that we could use to launch the kayaks. The location and views of the lake are phenomenal!!! The home itself is well maintained, comfortable, and clean. At least until several days into our stay when we saw & heard mice in the kitchen & their droppings on the counter near the sink. This happens in homes & we weren’t extremely squeamish about it, but when we kindly pointed it out to the homeowner in a private message at the end of our stay, primarily for the sake of future guests, we received no response at all. The lack of timely & courteous communication overall was disappointing.

This was our second year staying here and are looking forward to returning again next year. The views from this location no matter the weather are amazing. Very close to the bike trail which is why we went to Vermont. The layout of the place suited us fine and the bed was very comfortable.

Perfect Getaway Spot

We had a fantastic week at this property. The cottage is cozy, not fancy but very nicely appointed with everything you need for a comfortable stay. The location can’t be beat with amazing views and plenty to do nearby if you can pry yourself away from the deck. Perfect spot to view gorgeous sunsets. The host, Bill, was very responsive and helpful. We’ll be back!

The town of Colchester is a great town as well. and we chose this location to do biking and our location was perfect to get to the bike trails. We spent a lot of our down time enjoying the deck and the scenery. We are hoping to go back next year.

Perfect Getaway Cottage Lakeside

I've stayed many times at different places on Colchester Point, but this location, by far, offers the best vistas of the Lake Champlain, with spectacular sunsets. Even when the weather was not perfect, it's hypnotic to watch the weather roll in from over the lake. We never left the deck! We never tired of hearing the waves on the lake, or finding new things to observe in the grand views, or noticing the wildlife. We saw a mink, rabbits, bald eagles, ospreys and turkey vultures. (The local birds seem to love to glide on the thermals over the point. There were always birds sort of drifting by the deck/windows.). The inside of the cottage is as cozy as the outside is grand. The bed is super comfy, the bathroom was a nice size. The property is well appointed with the things you need, and also offers a bit of luxury with the grill, a great kitchen, and a dishwasher! Highly recommend and we hope to come back again...thank you!

Wonderful stay, all around.

Can’t beat the location and the property was perfect for my family of four. Home was clean and well appointed. Kitchen had everything we needed and more. The deck was our favorite spot and the beach perfect for the kids to play.

We loved our stay!

This place is great! VERY clean! It has all of the needed amenities for the kitchen, bed and bath. The 270 degree view of the lake was wonderful. The house is on a quiet street with lots of privacy. Very nice deck area with a grill. We were a little surprised by the size of the bunk bed area, it's a very small space, but didn't impact our stay and would be good for small children. There wasn't any information provided on what to expect upon arrival or checkout, but after leaving a message for the owner they were in touch via text and very responsive when needed. We also appreciated the privacy. My wife, baby and I HIGHLY recommend staying here!

Awesome week in June

Just spent a week at this beautiful spot on Lake Champlain. The views are as spectacular as the description says. This was a very well equipped cottage with everything that you need to make a comfortable stay. Bikes, kayaks and beach chairs were an added bonus as were the comfortable deck chairs. Although we didn't spend a lot of time indoors and rarely turned on the TV, the inside set up was also great with games and Direct TV if wanted. Owner was close by and very accommodating although we didn't need much as pretty much everything we needed was provided. Deck was on the small side but we had guests over most evenings and could comfortably seat 6-8 people while cooking on the nice grill. Our 2 year old lab loved chasing sticks into the lake from the beach. Would absolutely stay here again if the situation was right...have family and friends in the Burlington area so it was a great meeting spot.

Very Bad Ass Place!

I have had the pleasure of staying here with my girlfriend for a night. Needless to say, we never left the bed. The best views from any where in the area for a fraction of the price! 5 Star Romance without flying to Paris!

I have summered out in this area for 37 years and am very familiar with the area and the Lake. I am a fourth generation builder and live just down the road. I am an avid outdoorsman who enjoys the different seasons of Vermont.

Why they chose this property

This property was always one of my favorite places growing up because it is secluded out on a small point with an awesome view like no other I had ever seen on Lake Champlain.

What makes this property unique

The best part is the view. I personally installed four 3' x 8' sheets of glass to give you the clearest unobstucted view of the lake.
The sound of the waves coming ashore.
The quiet powerful air conditioning unit.
