About this property

Terrapin Station - Rustic Home on Lake Winona with Dock!

Nestled amidst the serene beauty of a lush green forest, my place is a charming tree house that boasts a spectacular view of a tranquil Winona Lake. The house has a sturdy foundation that offers all the comforts of a modern home. Its warm and inviting interiors make it the perfect place to unwind and relax. The 1950s lake house features a private sandy beach and over 100 feet of private Lake Winona frontage. Bring your boat and make use of the boat dock, which is also provided. This home offers breathtaking views of the surrounding foothills. The house has three cozy bedrooms that are designed to offer maximum comfort and privacy. New Hampton is located in close proximity to both Meredith and Laconia, offering a harmonious blend of tranquil lake life and easy access to the vibrant life of the lake's region.

The kitchen is well-equipped and opens up to a spacious living and dining area that overlooks the beach and the lake. The main floor has ceiling fans circling the house's refreshing lake breeze. The master bedroom is a wood-paneled room that feels like a cozy tree house, providing a king-sized bed and a serene ambiance surrounded by hemlock and pines. The bunk room is another cool spot in the house, with a full bed and two twin beds, where the full bed faces the water and is separated by a door. The house is situated on over an acre of land and is surrounded by trees on the lake side, offering a perfect blend of privacy, peace, and tranquility.

There are plenty of cool spots to hang out and read, and guests can choose to BBQ on the awesome deck off of the main house above the beach or the patio at the water's edge. The house boasts plenty of natural light and charm, making it an ideal choice for families. The full bath with a shower and tub is on the main level, and there is a brand new modern 1/2 bath on the second floor, where the other two bedrooms are located. Please be mindful of the cabin-style plumbing, as long showers will drain the hot water tank. Please use the black trash bags provided and make sure to put the trash in the dumpster.

Guests have exclusive access to the entire house, including the private beach, dock, and patio. The dock is 16 feet and can accommodate a small boat <20 feet, which can be parked at the dock. The property also provides parking for at least five cars.

The house is located near two grocery stores and numerous restaurants. However, guests are advised to bring along some groceries, as they won't want to leave once they arrive. The area boasts awesome farmers markets, pharmacies, and other services. As a pescatarian and foodie, I can offer advice on the best places to eat around the area, including the best spots to get meat for carnivores. The nearest big town is Meredith, while Ashland is a small town with a small food market.

The house provides toilet paper, tissues, cleaning supplies, spices, a fully stocked kitchen with a coffee maker, and a small microwave. Please note that I do not supply sheets and towels; guests can request them at an additional fee of $100.00. Pets are also allowed with preapproval and $150 pet fee.

At this end of the lake, there is a delightful orchestra of singing owls that offer a unique evening musical experience. During Loon season, Ma and Pa Loon sing, and their music echoes across the lake, creating an unforgettable experience for guests.
