About this property
French Classic in San Telmo, Balcony over Defensa
This refined two-bedroom apartment is in an elegant turn-of-the-century building that housed the elite of San Telmo/Monserrat during Argentina’s heyday. You can tell it was built for the wealthy when you step into the lobby. Gorgeous staircase and birdcage elevator with stained glass windows, heavy wrought-iron door, and beautiful mosaic tiles. Bedrooms are quiet and eat-in kitchen is spacious and comfotable. There's also a spacious living-room and dining-room.
It's a fantastic location, you'll love being close to downtown, modern Puerto Madero, San Telmo market. I love San Telmo's bohemian vibe and authenticity. You'll want to explore San Telmo's casas de tango, small traditional restaurants known as bodegones, old-fashioned bars called Bares notables, antique and vintage shops, and the trendy new restaurants, cafes, and fancy boutiques. Day or night, San Telmo is full of activity. In particular, I love that it's small. No matter where you are in San Telmo, you'll find a cool place to eat, great bars and cafes, some lovely boutiques (though fewer than in Palermo or Recoleta) and you will mostly hear Spanish.
