Key West-style Beach house with Gulf views from nearly every room - Island Time

Island Time has a great layout for a beach house, with a large kitchen and dining area on one end, and a living room on the other end of the house. The third bedroom is a bunk room with a TV , so in the evenings, there is plenty of space for everyone.

This great beach house is less than one hundred feet from the Gulf, one of the closest houses to the water on the Island. You'll enjoy great views from just about every window, and can sit on the deck and dolphin-watch.

The island is accessible by bridge from I-10 and I-65. Gulf Shores/Fort Morgan is only a few miles away and is accessible by auto ferry (makes a great day trip).

For attractions, visit the Sea Lab, historic Fort Gaines, play a round of golf at the Isle Dauphine gulf-front course, view birds and wildlife & explore secluded beaches at the Audubon Sanctuary, fish on the beach or at the long gulf-front fishing pier, charter a boat for sightseeing or deep-sea fishing, swim, bike, walk, collect shells, or just plain relax . . . . .

As with all of our Dauphin Island homes, all linens and towels are provided, WIFI, along with a fully-outfitted kitchen. Everything you need for a great beach vacation is here. This house may be pet-friendly, with prior written permission.

Can't Get Closer!

Our stay was awesome! With the recent weather the water came right under the house. We saw dolphins at least once a day. When the waves got a little big we just went down to the West End Beach for a shell picking and checking out all the hermit crabs. Really enjoyed our stay. Our only complaint was the wifi, not very strong.

Tater the Basset Hound loved the house.

Our first day was storming and flooding. We received a weather alert from the rental staff about possible tornadoes in the area while we were traveling. We were able to get to the house and rental staff was very helpful in transporting our vehicle to a safer place to park overnight. Staff very friendly and caring. We are planning on booking this house again.

Great place for families with young kids to stay.

This was a perfect location for our family getaway. Kids loved the beach. The house provided shade for younger kids and adults while watching the kids on the beach. I wouldn't hesitate to stay there again. The location was everything we needed. This was a great house but there were a few things that I would want to know as a property owner. First, the banister on the front of the deck really needs to be replaced. We wouldn't let our kids out on the deck for fear they might climb on it. Next, there were no cleaning supplies, or dish towels to use while cleaning. We cooked each meal there and having tea towels etc. would have been very helpful with kids. One of the kids spilled a can of juice and all we had was paper towels to use to clean with. I ended up having to use wash clothes and dish soap on my hands and knees to get up most of the spill. Then found the mop outside and finished up with that. We did take our own paper towels in and used those as well. Finally, one of the bunk beds was nearly broken and not very comfortable. All of that isn't meant to run down this great house, just things that might be helpful when families are so far away from home and stores. We loved Dauphin Island and the lack of commercialism there. Just other families on the beach each day and a very relaxed atmosphere!

Great views, good location.

Nice, basic beach house on the West End of Dauphin Island. Beachfront. There is some beach to play on, even at high tide. Fairly close to the State park beach, which is beautiful and you can have it all to yourself if you just walk down a couple hundred yards from the entrance.

Love the location but property needs some TLC

When we got there at 4:00 the cleaning lady was still there (check in was at 3:00). She was very nice and helped to carry a few things upstairs but I could tell the property was not thoroughly cleaned as she was trying to get out of our way. All of the other reviews about doors, soft spots on the floor, having a hard time with ac due to the doors, it’s all true. You have one of the best locations I’ve ever stayed in and if you don’t give the home itself some TLC it’s going to get past the point of no return. Appliances are all fancy and new but we had a problem with the ice machine. They promptly came and fixed the issue. My stay here made me realize I don’t want any new Samsung appliances. They are cool to look at and seem fancy but don’t hold up. With all that being said I would stay here again just because of the location and the fact it’s not overcrowded. Please fix all the doors and other issues so we can continue to come to this beautiful place!

Relaxing retreat

Amazing views!!

Great place to take the family! Clean, dog friendly house right at the water! What more could you possibly ask for?? Added plus close to restaurants and if you want to dine in its close to the seafood market. Keep in mind it's on an island so take extra breakfast foods, snacks, drinks, and such because there is no walmart nearby. Also bring extra towels because the house doesn't give very many for the amount of days you stay. We stayed 3 nights and had like exactly one towel each and there was 5 of us. No biggie but just a heads up. Wonderful house! Could not say enough about it. It's a must see.

Great location/Needs some TLC

This was our second visit to Dauphin Island. Loved being first row, right on the gulf side again, however, the house needs some overall maintenance and a good cleaning. Kitchen drawers were coming apart, beadboard pulling away from the walls and holes in the carpet. The Wifi quit working and they had someone there within 30 minutes to fix the issue. It quit working again, but we were leaving the next morning.

As close to Gulf front as you will get! Spectacular!

This home is beautiful, located on the Gulfside of Dauphin Island’s West End Beach. We enjoyed a meteor shower one night that was amazing. Thank you for letting us bring a pet. This was such a cool experience.

Location was great

We enjoyed our stay but a few things that need fixed are the cabinet door on the island is half off along with the drawers are messed up and don’t pull out properly. The outside rail on deck really needs fixed it’s kind of sketchy. The outside door in master suite will only shut if the deadbolt is locked. Glass sliding doors catch and won’t open easily. Dining room could use some blinds, the evening sun is pretty blinding coming through those windows. Wi-Fi is almost non existent, we only needed it one day when it rained but we had to hook our hotspot up to get tv to work which we didn’t go on vacation to watch tv so that wasn’t too big of a deal to us. The best part and why we rented was location. It is so close to the beach and it was not busy or crowded at all. We enjoyed the sound of the ocean each night. All the appliances were very high quality and worked great. If your wanting a house right on the beach this is a wonderful one to pick

Fantastic location being literally ON the water. Great furnishings.

Wi-Fi buffered constantly, blurry tv’s in LR and kitchen, but kitchen would clear eventually, no dresser in the 2 spare bedrooms so you had to live out of your suitcase, zero hangers in the 2 guest BRs, clothes washer needs refreshed-smells very stale, the dishes in the cabinets were not clean, that’s really gross! Oven doesn’t function properly, oven read 400 degrees and it was at 280 degrees,(such high end appliances, you may want to include the owners manual-for and example-the oven turns off if you press kitchen timer and not cook timer), ice maker does not work properly (my husband had to google how to fix it), Both sliding doors are difficult to open and close, especially the LR door, the door rocks left and right in its track, shower water pressure is very low (could be water saving shower head?), a lot of the screws in the deck are popping out- safety issue to feet, no lights on ceiling fans in master bedroom and kitchen over the table, no lighting over the kitchen table was extremely frustrating, how is that even possible?, outside wooden chairs are rotted, but they have 4 very nice composite chairs if you have just 4 guests.

There was a sewer line out at the home. We were given the door code about an hour before we stayed there and then Becky called and said a sewer line out and we couldn't stay there. Very disappointed.

Relaxing and so close to water.

Property was clean and very comfortable. They let us have our 2 small dogs (our family) with us. Very well stock with essentials and kitchen appliances were top notch.

Excellent Location

The property was as promised. Right on the beach and during high tide right on the water. You could tell it had storm damage as there were cosmetic items (electrical plates missing, uneven ceiling fans etc) as well as in and out internet/tv service. However our concerns were addressed quickly and they didn't detract from the overall wonderful experience. Since nearest resturants are miles away I would suggest bringing own groceries.

Perfect beach house to escape a busy life

This Dauphin Island beach house was exactly as described and the view was breathtaking. I took my two nieces and we enjoyed quiet walks on the beach, reading books from the expansive deck and even saw dolphins! The property is really lovely and very comfortable - lots of space. I am considering an annual December beach trip to this same place! But beware - make sure you take food for all your meals as NONE of the islands restaurants were open!

Exactly What I Needed

More secluded than the typical condo setups along Orange Beach and Perdido Key. I didn't want to deal with all the people this year, didn't want to drag my stuff 100 yds to the beach every morning at 7 just to stake our spot, and this place solved all those problems for me.

Beautiful Home and Town

The house was great, the town was Beautiful and relaxing, the home was fully stocked with such attention to detail, wasn’t lacking anything that you would need. Thank You for sharing your gorgeous place, the weather was colder than we would have liked but what a relaxing time we had, saw shrimp boats and dolphins, there’s a great Mexican casual take out in town Miguels, everyone was friendly, it was great getting away from the crazy hustle of life to just relax, the blue chairs on deck were our absolute favorite place to sit and have morning coffee with our fur babies and watch for dolphins.

Enjoyed the beachfront!!

We so enjoyed our long weekend at the house. We enjoyed sitting out on the balcony and being right next to the water. We are definitely interested in staying here again! Our ONLY complaint was not having a non-sandy walkway/access to and from the car. This house is fabulous throughout, nice appliances and amenities. We will be back!

Good Vacation, but could have been better

We loved the location, deck views, beds, and the high blue deck chairs. We loved that the house had everything we needed and more.... loved all the new appliances. Skinners seafood boil was awesome! The sandbox gift shop was the best store on the island. There were however a few things that could have been done to make our stay more enjoyable: The Kitchen siding door was broke, and had wood in the track to keep from opening it, so we couldn't use it. No livingroom lights worked. The Lamp in the twin bunk room didn't work. People were still cleaning it after our check-in time. We had to keep driving by and then sat out on the side of the road waiting for them to finish. The Trash can at the road was full and over flowing and there was trash laying in the drive. The Master bath shower door does not stay shut. Some maintenance man came to clean out a filter one day while we were in the house, that was just awkward, waiting for him to finish and leave. A cleaning lading came by a half an hour earlier than our checkout time to see if we were leaving so she could clean. The shutter on the Master bedroom window needs to be screwed in on center as on the last night of our stay, the wind kept catching it and it was banging all night. We only got a few hours of sleep. Also, a full length mirror in master bedroom would have been very nice. And The master bed needs a few more and new pillows. Ps. This house is nice and clean, but if you are used to a well built home, you may be alittle shocked st the trim work, outlets, etc. It looks great in pictures, but upclose, the workmanship leaves a lot to be desired.

The Best!!!

We have rented vacation homes many times and this experience was one of the best. It was clean, well equipped, comfortable, and great location. The house must have been recently updated with great decor and new appliances. We were lulled to sleep each night by the surf and woke to beautiful sunrises from the deck. We had a slight issue with the coffee maker and Adam responded within minutes and brought a new one at once. We are going to rent again soon and for longer. Truly 5 stars!!! Thanks, MA
