A Piece of Heaven

We thouroghly enjoyed our stay in this beautiful cabin. The host was super quick and responsive and accomadating. The only small suggestion I would recommend- it needs to be a little bit more handicap accessible- a hand rail up the side steps and a raised toilet seat. Otherwise everything was perfect! Definitely suggest arriving during the daytime with those corkscrew curves you have to go up to get to the cabin! We hope to be back again some day!!

The Perfect Escape

We use Bitsy’s place to get away from it all no traffic no crowds very Quite . Scenery and views spectacular. Wildlife very abundant . Bitsy is a Fabulous host and quick to respond to any and all questions. You’ll know why it feels like home during your stay . We drive here from the Baton Rouge La area and yes we just love this place like it’s our own . Coming here the week of October7 2024 was just in time as the Autumn leaves were beginning to turn with spectacular colors . So when providing a rating I must admit a hands down 10 score yes it’s just that good period . If you’re looking for adventure this is the place to be close to Cades Cove and many more attractions in the Smokys . Truly a spot for traveler’s . Daniel M

Gorgeous views, quiet area and very comfortable cabin

The owner sent very detailed directions and instructions and reached out to make sure everything was as expected. This cabin has such a gorgeous view and large porch with lots of sitting room. The accommodations were very comfortable and the kitchen was well equipped for cooking and baking. We had everything needed to cook/grill from scratch for 7 days, including the Thanksgiving meal. We were able to hike from the cabin into the GSMNP and found this area very peaceful. Would definitely rent this cabin again!

Great place

Our second vacation at this cabin. We love it here, and plan on visiting again! Clean, not on top of other houses, and close enough to many different fun things to do!

Quaint, charming, and cozy- with all the comforts of home. We loved seeing the abundance of deer and turkey among the serene landscape, as well. Highly recommend. Daniel Mizell

Cabin in the snow

Beautiful and cozy cabin with everything we needed for our stay. Clean and beautiful decor. The snow was an unexpected but exciting event. Bitsy was available if we needed anything. But we didn’t need anything because all we needed was there! Thanks to the Dupree’s for letting us enjoy their cabin!!

Great experience and great value.

It is obvious the owners care about their guests. The are lots of details provided for the comfort and entertainment of guests. There are some features in the cabin that are charmingly quirky. If you like perfect, find a hotel. But then you give up a great fire ring, terrific views, quiet solitude, fresh air...

Incredible

What an incredible home. The host made sure we were fully comfortable ahead of time. Provided anything and everything we would need ahead of time. The view is simply incredible. No picture can do it justice. The peace that you feel at the top of the mountain, with nobody around, is unmatched. The house itself is in great shape. All of the amenities with a lot of really nice extra touches that we’ve never seen in another house. All in all, this place was awesome and we thank you for an amazing stay!

Best place I have stayed!

This cabin is right on the mountain with beautiful views. I loved the privacy of the location. The cabin was beautiful, it was well organized with everything you could possibly need was available. It was easy to keep in touch with the owner if we needed help. We really didn't need help though since everything we could have needed was provided. I would definitely come back here. This was the best place I have stayed and covered one of my items on my bucket list to stay in the mountains. It was also not too far from pigeon forge, Gatlinburg, zip lining, and great hiking trails, with amazing sights. My daughter took some amazing photos while we were there.

Family Trip

Not the usual cookie cutter cabin like those around Dollywood. A unique floorplan with a large private yard, nice mountain view and a firepit with chairs and a ready wood supply. We spent more time at the cabin playing cards and board games than planned because we enjoyd the cool mountain climate.

Another fabulous stay

2nd year coming, and just as lovely and charming as the first time. The view alone is worth it! Clean and comfortable, well taken care of. It looks rustic on the outside (which I love!), but has all the amenities inside. WiFi was a little spotty this visit, but considering all the rain in the surrounding areas, that was to be expected. No worries, as it forced us to log off for a few days and just enjoy the scenery.

Excellent

The cabin is in an excellent location. Nice and secluded without being to far from all of the things the area has to offer. Owners are very responsive to needs/questions. Everything you need is already at the cabin. Great view, we loved sitting in the rocking chairs on the porch, watching the hummingbirds and seeing the mountains. Will definitely stay again!

About the host

Host profile image
My wife and I visited friends on Chilhowee mountain 20 years ago and in 1998, we purchased our Little Get Away. Bitsy and I have raised 4 children and we vacationed at our cabin multiple times a year. We love our Tennessee Cabin and our kids have many fond memories of hiking, cycling, fishing, swimming, tubing, roasting marshmallows around the campfire while playing guitars and singing, or just sitting on the porch sipping a hot cup of coffee or hot chocolate and enjoying the spectacular view. Our kids are now grown and raising families of there own, but they still love to spend time at the cabin. Bitsy and I would now like to offer others the ability to spend time with there families or spouses building wonderful memories as we have. The cabin sits on 5 attached acres. We own approximately 20 acres around our cabin. You can walk or drive 1 mile to Look Rock Tower and enjoy the view of the Great Smokey Mountains (550,000 acres) or look to the west and see the cities of Maryville and Knoxville. We love our mountain!

Why they chose this property

This cabin is secluded, right off the Foothills Parkway, but close enough that with a minimal drive you can visit Cades Cove a pioneer settlement from the 1800's, or shop at the quaint shops in Townsend, or spend a day at Dollywood in Pigeon Forge, or spend a day seeing the sites in Gatlinburg. White Water Rafting is also close by in the pigeon river or tubing in the little Tennessee River is right in Townsend. The cabin is also only 8 miles to the Dragon down the Foothills Parkway
