We came out to visit family over Christmas and New Years and this cabin was perfect for us. Far enough out of town, but close enough for a supply run. The cabin was clean and cozy and our whole visit went very smoothly. Driveway was kept plowed when the snow came through. Great communication.
I had a great stay at Craig's house. The house was very comfortable and clean. Had everything I needed. Craig happend to be nearby and checked to make sure everything was good.Area is great. In the Adirondack Park but places to eat and shop nearby. Royal Mountaid is a fun mountain and we had great conditions.I really enjoyed my stay. Tim

Relaxing
The property is perfectly set up. The owners took the time to think of everything you may need and have it there for you! Very clean, and peaceful. Enjoyed a relaxing week in the summer. Fished, hiked, and explored the surrounding lakes. Watched lots of movies in the evenings. Very dog friendly.

Wonderful weekend.
I would highly recommend staying here. Beautiful nature views, I can only imagine what it is like in the winter with ski resort located right behind the house. We stayed here to attend a friends wedding. I loved the jukebox.

Great Place for our needs
This was a great spot for myself, brother, and dad to stay. We were visiting the area mostly to visit my other brother and his family who live nearby, but we also really enjoyed the scenery, rented a boat nearby at the Caroga Lake Marina, and just enjoyed what the area had to offer. Some really nice touches were the popcorn machine and the jute box.

Great Spot
My wife, brother, sister-in-law, and I took the place for a weekend of skiing at Royal Mountain. The house was comfortable and clean and plenty warm on a very cold weekend.
The skiing was great, despite lots of rain the day before our arrival.
Headed for Saratoga Springs for dinner Friday evening. But driving through very nearby Johnstown, short stopped there. The town was bigger and livelier than we had imagined. Had dinner there and waited until the end of our weekend for the visit to Saratoga.
I will hope to rent the place from Craig again.

Great place to get away
Had a great time at the cabin. Craig was easy to work with to make the last minute arrangements, even though we had a slight hiccup with Paypal, and very responsive with communication. Cabin was very comfortable, had everything we needed, plenty of space, and in a great location. This time of year, of course, we weren't skiing but we did use the cabin as our base of operations to do some hiking and get in some much needed relaxation. Thumbs up!

Perfect for a family ski vacation
My children and I just sent a week in this lovely ski chalet. We chose this location specifically for its proximity to Royal Mountain which is known for being family friendly and a great place for children to learn to ski. This was our children's first ski experience and we could not have been more pleased with the mountain and our accommodations.
The house is located within walking distance of the lodge and the lifts. I drove the kids up to the lodge in the morning and they were able to walk back on their own for lunch and at the end of the day. If you are using your own equipment (we rented) you can literally ski back into your living room!! The house was warm and cozy with an excellent central heating system as well as a wood stove in the living room. After-ski evenings were spent watching movies on the sofa munching on fresh popcorn from the old-fashioned popcorn machine and drinking hot cocoa.
The cabin has a fully equipped kitchen and there is a major grocery store just about 20 minutes away so it was easy to stock up for our stay. The master bedroom is small but comfortable with a queen sized bed and plenty of warm covers and a closet to keep everything organized and out of the way. The second bedroom has custom-made bunk beds and sleeps 3, which was perfect for our kids. There is also a mudroom with laundry facilities which kept snow and mud out of the house and allowed us to get all of the kids' gear warm and dry for the next day.
Royal Mountain is only open on weekends and during school holidays but during the week, you could easily use this home as a base of operations for day trips to West Mountain, Gore or even Whiteface which are all open daily. For us, Royal was the perfect place to get my kids up and skiing for the first time. There is a great "bunny slope" for lessons and practice and plenty of gentle terrain on the main mountain to keep them happy. The mountain has runs for all levels of skier from beginner to expert so more advanced skiers will certainly not be bored. There is a nice lodge with a snack bar and a separate bar for the grown ups. My kids took advantage of the beginners' ski program. The equipment they were fitted with was really good quality and well maintained. After a few hours of instruction, they were up and able to navigate the main mountain and lifts all on their own! I could easily see coming up here every weekend if we lived in the Albany area. Highly recommended!

Wonderful trip!
Cozy cabin with a mountain in the backyard! We had an absolutely delightful stay at this very comfortable cabin in the Adirondacks. Our dog loved going for walks up the mountain that is right behind the house.
The owner was exceptionally thoughtful and the best I have ever dealt with. He even put wood in the fireplace for us and popcorn in the popcorn maker! We would definitely come back.

A piece of heaven
My wife and I were looking for a place to unplug from the world, and this was it. A great little cabin with jukebox, log fire heater, and great memories. The property owner is extremely kind and friendly, always willing to be a guide - he even gave us a tour of the nearby mountain. My wife and I also hiked up 3 other nearby mountains and visited various lakes. The local restaurants are great, and there's a small town only 15 mins away if we needed anything in particular. This was what we needed as our last great memory in NY before we moved. I definetly recommend this vacation spot, no matter what time of year.

Returning visit. Highly recommended
This was our second stay at this property and everything is as we remember it. The owners are fantastic and very accommodating. The cottage is exactly as described. It works perfectly for us as my wife’s family is from the area. Our dogs were welcome. Our granddaughters stayed over a few nights and we had some much needed family time. Sit back and relax, hike, swim, fish, and numerous other outdoor activities and sightseeing within a very short distance. We very much enjoyed our stay and look forward to coming back.

Fun times
The cabin is cozy and Rustick. There are several small ponds for fishing, frogging and swimming on foam rafts. Wednesday nights there are super cross races you can watch nearby. A jukebox with 45 records takes you back in time. The owners are very helpful and offer great dining suggestions. Caroga Lake is quiet and the pontoon boat is a lot of fun. It was a memorable week!

Rental property at Caroga Lake
My family had a wonderful time here. There was so much for my almost 4 year old to do, she kept busy all day. Even my dog loved it there. The renter family was so nice and took the time to show us the ropes of all to do around the property. We would make this trip again, we loved it.

Adorable ski house right on the mountain
We had a great stay at this house! It is right on the ski mountain and 5 minutes from Caroga Lake. The owner was great to rent from and made everything easy, from setting up the juke box with song selections that we got to pick, to leaving out extra bedding and airmattresses for our additional guests. We will definitely be back!

Comfortable Stay
Although our leisurely journey to the ski house meant missing the welcome of our host and his family, we particularly enjoyed being greeted with personalized music on the jukebox and the space in which to dance to it. The description of the location and the pictures were quite accurate. Our dog, Jake, really enjoyed curling up on the bear rug. Having the ski slope behind and the access to it from the end of the yard helped when walking the dog to avoid the road. Scenic drives enjoying the changing foliage were a highlight. We left on a rainy morning but I definitely could appreciate the comfort of sitting beside the fire watching the clouds skud over the mountain, drinking a pot of tea and reading a good book.

Your home away from home, highly recommended.
This is an excellent, as advertised, place to stay. My wife and I spent the last week of August 2012 here and we had a great time. The décor, pictures and description on the listing match perfectly to what we experienced. It’s like a home away from home and the owners go above and beyond to make you feel welcome. We have family in the general area so it was a welcome change to stay where they could come to see us instead of us running constantly to visit everyone else. Sit back and read a book to the sounds of nature, play your favorite songs on the juke box, watch a movie, let the kids fish in the pond, swimming, go hiking, boating, you name it this place has it all. We will be back and highly recommend this property. Brian and Dee, Knoxville TN.
