About this property

Lakefront property, beautiful view with steps into water, large private dock.

**Requires at least 2 previous positive reviews to book this property.**

**Maximum Stay length is 14 days at this time.**

Glistening lake scene right out the back door with 100 feet of lake front and steps right into the water. The southern exposure of the lake provides pristine views and afternoon sun on the back patio perfect for sunbathing. Some days the conditions on the lake are like glass and windy days provide the perfect opportunity to get out your windsurfer or a small sail boat (watch for those shallow areas). The home is on a small bay where you can swim, play or just relax in the water. Lake is shallow in the bay (3-5' at end of dock depending on time of year). However, you can catch rainbow trout right off the end of your own dock (bring power bait). There are several small watercraft available to check out during your stay (must be reserved at least 24 hours in advance).

The single story, open concept home has all you need to make your vacation perfect. Kitchen is full of necessary and unnecessary items to help make your stay enjoyable. The bedrooms are spacious with plenty of storage. Jetted tub in the master suit to help you relax at the end of the day...or the beginning. Heated outdoor shower to rinse off after coming out of lake. Landscape lighting and fountain adds to the ambiance in the evening. The local restaurant is only a short walk away with great food and large portions at a reasonable price. There is a bakery about a mile up the road to satisfy your sweet tooth or pick up a yummy sandwich to eat by the lake. There is a lake boat launch 5 min from the house and a salt water boat launch 5 min the opposite direction. The outdoor patio furniture and BBQ will make your outdoor experience even more enjoyable.
If your into military history or want to enjoy some incredible Navy museums there is the submarine museum at Keyport and there is the Turner Joy Ship at the Bremerton Marina open for tours. There is also a small foot ferry between Bremerton and Port Orchard if you want enjoy the waterfront businesses in both towns.
Shelton has logging history, antique stores and the Little Creek Casino with gambling and good food.
There are Train rides in Port Orchard that take you through South Kitsap Reginal park that is fun for both young and old. Rides are free and are available on the second and fourth Saturday of the month from April-October between 10am-4pm. They also are open on Easter, Labor Day, Memorial Day, 4th of July and Halloween. Halloween is a special night time run during the evening and tickets are required for this Ride day only (funds go to charity).
The back porch sliding glass door, sliding section, has some fogging of the glass pane. We have the new door with installation planned for the off season.
Exterior of property has security cameras recording video and sound 24/7. Recordings automatically delete after 14 days unless needed due to security reasons then they will retained until no longer needed. Cameras cover entire exterior of the property, inside the garage (not accessible to guest) and under the house (not accessible to guests).

About the host

Violet and Craig live locally in Port Orchard. Violet loves outdoor adventure and travel. Violet enjoys visiting new places and exploring off the the main path. She loves to be both in the mountains and on the beaches. Craig volunteers with Kitsap Liver Steamers (KLS) Rail Road group in Port Orchard. KLS operates small scale ride on trains that haul passengers through South Kitsap Reginal Park in Port Orchard. Passengers are welcome on the Second and Fourth Saturday from 10a-4p. We have been looking for waterfront property all over Western Washington to enjoy and share with family and friends for over 3 decades. All the stars finally aligned and we were able to purchase this property in 2023. This home has been our personal dream for a very long time and our hope is to share the beauty and joy it bring us with others. We enjoy being hosts in order to provide a place that allows guests to not only visit our area but to slow down and enjoy what this wonderful area truly has to offer.

Why they chose this property

This home is on a private drive on one of the larger and quieter lakes in our area. The property is 5 minutes from either the lake boat launch or the salt water boat launch. Our neighbors are friendly and helpful. There is a convenience store, coffee shop and restaurant within walking distance of the house and a bakery and deli just a short drive up the street. Cara's Corner Country Store just opened up the street. There is an abundance of wildlife visiting the property on a daily basis: deer, racoons, beaver, otter, ducks and geese. Overhead we see eagles and osprey. The lake is stocked multiple times a year with rainbow trout but don't be surprised if you catch a bass too. Fishing license is required on the lake. This area is close to the city of Shelton and all it has to offer. A short drive takes you to the Naval undersea museum and the Turner Joy Ship museum in Keyport and Bremerton. The town of Port Orchard has a small scale ride on railroad to entertain both young and old in the South Kitsap Regional Park operated by Kitsap Live Steamers volunteers on the second and fourth Saturday of the month from spring through summer, 10am-4pm. If you ask for Craig, he can provide or arrange for a private behind the scene tour of the rail yard and KLS facility.

What makes this property unique

Home is a single story structure perfect for those of us with difficulty navigating stairs. Home is at the north end of Spencer Lake giving it a southern exposure and beautiful view of the lake. You can literally walk out your back door, across the lawn, down a few steps and right into the lake. Water depth near the shore is shallow and perfect for the little ones to enjoy. Property is just shy of an acer of land, situated in a small bay with a large private dock, 100 feet of private waterfront with steps right into the water. There is a fire pit right at the waters edge for use if there is no burn ban in place. You can bring your own fire wood or purchase from local vendors. This is both a fishing and water skiing lake. BYOB (bring your own boat) or use one of the ones we have available to check out during your stay. Spencer Lake boat launch is 5 min from house to the west and salt water boat launch is 5 min from house to the East. We have a few small watercraft available for use if guest requests them at least 24 hours in advance. We have a canoe and a few kayaks available and free of charge for guest use at this lake and from this property only.
