Come and stay at one of the most unique listings in the Appalachian Highlands of North Carolina. Two proud Scottish brothers set out in the 1960s to replicate and honor a Scottish town by starting a development in the hills of North Carolina. Originally called Invershiel, now named Tynecastle. Staying here, you receive a distinct experience which allows you to step back in time as you walk the grounds of these cottages and lounge by a roaring wood fire.
Welcome to Chateau Dumont! There are 3 cottages surrounding a single courtyard — Through this listing, you will only have access to the Highland Cottage. If you would like to book the other 2 cottages, The Honeymoon and/or The Hideaway, please feel free to send us an inquiry and we will happily forward the information for those :)
This Cottage has a small slope from the parking area to the front door, guided by a sidewalk. There are no steps to entire the home, but there are 3.5 different sets of staircases located inside. Upon entering, you will find....
Full kitchen, dining table, living room with wood burning fireplace and a smart TV, bar area, and washer + dryer.
Primary Bedroom - 1 Queen Bed connected to the only (full) bathroom
2nd Bedroom - 1 Full Bed
3rd Bedroom - 2 Twin beds
As previously mentioned, there is a shared courtyard between this cottage and our other two cottages. Located in the courtyard is a shared fire pit and several seating / dining areas. Behind this cottage you will find a luscious yard that you and your furry friends may enjoy. The yard is not fenced so be sure to pack your leashes.
