Mama Ellie's Place Up, a South Island, pristine, newly-renovated 3/2, is Coastal-themed and ONLY 1.2 miles away from beaches. Our keyless entry makes for easy access to you during your stay. The 1800 sq. ft. space provides 3 bedrooms, 4 beds, 2 indoor living spaces, not to mention the outside deck with a 3-person swing overlooking a manicured lawn. All bedrooms have Roku TVs and comfy beds. Beach gear/outdoor grill/fire pit are available to all guests. We provide board games, puzzles, and books of various genre. Bike/golf cart rentals are just around the corner. Mama Ellies Up! has an ideal location where guests can leisurely stroll to the well-known Southern Soul Barbecue restaurant, as well as to shopping boutiques in Redfern Village. Numerous restaurants and bars are all within walking distance. There’s an adorable locally owned pharmacy (St. Simons Drug Company) that’s not only helpful for any medical needs but has amazing gift ideas.
Sorry pet lovers but No pets allowed; however, there’s a a reputable dog boarding facility right across the street called “ Pack Canine Studio.”
Mama Ellie’s Up! has been dearly loved by ALL who have stayed here! It’s ideal for weekend “get-always,” for couples, girlfriends, or families.
My husband and I are not far away should any need arise.

Having grown up in this awesome community, my husband Kevin and I moved from our college town Alma Mater in Athens (Go, Dawgs!) after our first year of marriage to St. Simons over 36 years ago. We both chose careers as teachers and raised our 3 children here. I am still employed at Saint Simons Christian School as the Director of Curriculum and Instruction. Kevin is retired from Glynn Co. Schools and is currently recovering from a traumatic brain injury he incurred last fall.
We absolutely love hosting. I have been renting Mama Ellie’s Place Up! over 2 years now but am just now listing it on VRBO.
I am actively involved in Bible Study Fellowship participating in a weekly Bible study. Reading/listening is my newly discovered hobby, so I several books each week while managing our property and caring for my husband. Our daughter and her husband reside in Tampa with their 3 amazing daughters. We (Mama D and Pops) get down there as much as possible! Both of our sons live in the Lone Star State of Texas.
Although I don’t socialize with our guests, I enjoy giving tips on fun things to do and restaurants you don’t want to miss.

Why they chose this property
Our home is located in St. Simons Heights. It is an ideal spot because you can easily scoot out to Village/Pier area in less than 5 mins or to the north end in 10 (depending on “traffic.”) Our location is 1.2 miles from East Beach. We like to go to the very end and park at Gould’s Inlet. Families often go to the Coast Guard or Massingale beach areas because there are public bathrooms and showers.
Mama Ellie’s Up! Is easily walkable to any type of store you’d need. Here’s a sampling of restaurants/food types within walking distance: barbecue, Mexican, Thai, subs, doughnuts, scones, coffee houses, and even yogurt. There are clothing boutiques for women, men, and children, CVS, book, convenience, liquor, and hardware stores, and my favorite locally and owned gift shop/pharmacy (St. Simons Drugs) ALL right across the street! Mama Ellie’s Up! also has gold cart and bike rentals one block away.
Mama Ellie’s Up! Is easily walkable to any type of store you’d need. Because our local is South Island, you have the best of both worlds. The beach is less than 5 mins drive, and you can get to the historic north end in 10. Guests rave about the ideal location.
Mama Ellis’s Up! Is spacious and neatly decorated. Guest appreciate its cleanliness too. The back porch provides a lazy 3-person swing and outdoor dining. There are games, puzzles, and books of all genre for guests of all ages.
I am very prompt in replying should guests need anything. Providing a respite is my great desire and joy!
