About this property
Karavos View - A unique artists' hideaway Paradise
Our unique home is characterised as ‘a rare finding’ for all kinds of artists in practice who seek a minimal lifestyle and a magical landscape to decompress and feel inspired. Our renovated stone canopy, on the ruins of an old castle, features one main room with double bed, sofa bed, bathroom and a fully equipped kitchen with dining table. The terrace offers absolutely breathtaking panoramic views! Air condition, wifi, cable TV, washer and dishwasher available!
Our renovated 32m2 canopy, on the ruins of an old stone castle, is there to embrace the love of two travellers or the creative loneliness of just one. The main area offers a double bed and one sofa that can be used as one single bed. The kitchen is fully equipped with all kinds of appliances to prepare your daily meals and there is a dining table. There is a bathroom with shower plus a washer and a dishwasher for your total convenience.
One of the unique features of ‘The Little Boat’ is the amazing terrace offering panoramic views of the Cretan Sea and Karavos island on the right. Sitting or lying on the sun loungers, overlooking this magical landscape, you can feel like you are waving between sea and sky. You might even get into the habit of waking up early just to enjoy your coffee while watching the sun rising right outside your door.
Staying in our home can be an unforgettable experience not only for the sight but for all senses! Oregano, thyme, rosemary, apples and capers blend their scents with sea salt.
The shade of the mulberry tree and the sounds of cicadas will persuade you to read another chapter of your book, pour another glass of raki or just head for a relaxing afternoon siesta.
The owners of this special residence will be happy to share with you old stories of the place and the area but also memoirs and souvenirs of painters, writers, photographers, poets and actors who have previously chose this home to find tranquility and inspiration.
Last but not least, the Little Boat is strategically located within 300m from the seaside town of Kalyves offering a lovely organised beach and a wide range of restaurants, shops and services. In less than half an hour you can drive to the center of Chania and visit the cosmopolitan Venetian Harbour while the city of Rethymno is less than an hour drive.

Our home is located at the seaside town of Kalyves in Apokoronas region of Chania. Within 300meters of walking distance you can find a wide range of shops and services, ATM, pharmacy and of course the lovely organized Kalyves beach. Taxi service is available and a bus stop with frequent daily routes to Chania and the nearby villages.
Apokoronas is a region which extends to the northeastern part of the prefecture of Chania, by the foothills of the White Mountains to the north coast of Crete. It is characterized by the green hills and fertile tracts of land, due to the abundance of water coming from the mountains, creating the only natural lake of Crete, as well as rivers which run through the region, before finding their way out to the sea. There is a great variety of natural, historic and cultural sights to explore!
*Please be aware that our rates exclude an additional stayover tax. For stays from April to October, the tax is €8 per night, while from November to March, it is €2 per night. This tax applies to all bookings starting January 1st, 2024. Guests are required to pay this additional tax directly to the check-in assistant who will be responsible for key handover upon arrival.
