About this property

The Sleeping Bear’s Lair | Powder Horn | Dogs OK

Welcome to our newly renovated serene getaway nestled in the lush forest of the charming community on Powder Horn Mountain. Powder Horn mountain is a gated community offering security, privacy, and an opportunity to enjoy nature. It's been described as "like living in a national park.” If you enjoy being outdoors, hiking, and quiet this will become a new favorite destination. There are over 10 miles of hiking trails within the community, a campground, and an abundance of wildlife.

This house was completely renovated in 2023. You’ll find all new appliances, new memory foam mattresses, new furnishings, and small but well appointed bathrooms.

The main bedroom "Big Bear Den" includes a king size bed and ensuite bathroom, while the second bedroom "Bear Den" includes a queen size bed. Both of these bedrooms are located on the main level, and include blackout curtains, clothing storage, nightstands with extra outlets and USB options, wall mounted Roku TVs, and sound machines.

The loft is a kid friendly environment and includes 2 twin size beds, Nintendo gaming consoles, T.V., toys such as blocks, parachute men (try tossing these guys over the railing), books, and bean bag chairs. We’ve also included extra outlets, USB charging options, and a sound machine.

The living room is a great place to cozy up in front of the gas fireplace or enjoy family game night. Board games as well as an Infinity Game Table are provided.

DISCLAIMER: There is typically little to no cell service on the property. A landline phone is available. Metered satellite internet service is available, and is typically suitable for streaming services. The connection in not suitable for online meetings or work. Checking email and surfing the web typically work well. We expect a fiber internet service to be available to the whole community sometime in July. Crews have already placed the lines we're just waiting for installation. For now we suggest coming to "unplug".

Amazing!
My family and I spend an amazing weekend at the Sleeping Bear’s Lair. The house felt so much like home. The beds were so comfortable and the furnishings were perfect for us all. We had a great time playing family games on the game table. The home had everything we could have possibly needed. Even for our four legged family member. I was very impressed by how clean the place was. It was big enough that we all had our separate space, but we ended up hanging out together most of the time. I really enjoyed my coffee in the rocking chairs on the back deck and the trails that I could hike without even getting in the car. We included a fun trip to the club house where we enjoyed the paddle boats and pool. Thanks for an amazing weekend. I can’t wait to book again.
