About this property

Cozy Cabin + Mt View/River/Hot Tub/Pool Table/Fire Pit

Welcome to South Fork Lodge! Our private log cabin is full of activities and outdoor spaces. Take in the soaring great room with vaulted ceilings and gas fireplace. Head down to the game room with pool table and 55” smart TV. Unwind in the hot tub and enjoy the mountain view, while your kids play giant connect four on the deck! Hike down to the river to enjoy some catch & release fishing. Located 15 minutes from downtown Boone.

**4WD is REQUIRED for accessing the cabin during winter months**

True timber framed cabin featuring hand hewn pine beams as well as pine ceilings, walls, and hardwood floors. The cabin is perched on the side of a mountain overlooking the river valley below. Park in the gravel parking area and walk down the path to the front door. There are no steps to the door, though there is a hill from the parking area that may be an issue for those with mobility concerns. Everything you need is on the main level: the great room with soaring vaulted ceilings and gas fireplace, the kitchen and dining area, and the master bedroom and a bathroom. Enjoy gathering together with your loved ones in the spacious great room and making lifelong memories! Besides the great room, there's additional gathering space downstairs by the pool table or upstairs in the loft.

• BEDROOMS: Each of the 3 bedrooms features a QUEEN bed.
• GAME ROOM: pool table, Lounging space, 55" TV, TWIN over FULL bunk bed, FULL sleeper Sofa.
• KITCHEN: stocked with common spices/oils, full dinnerware set and flatware, pots/pans, mixing bowls and utensils for basic cooking
• DINING: 8 person dining table, 3 stools at kitchen bar.
• KID FRIENDLY: The home is baby-proofed and kid friendly featuring outlet covers, baby gates (if desired), and sound machines in each bedroom. You will also have access to two pack-n-plays, a high chair and baby monitors.

*PET POLICY*
This home is not pet friendly. Thank you for not bringing pets to this cabin.

*RIVER ACCESS*
• You'll enjoy the sights of river canoes and tubes floating by each summer, and if you want to join the fun, Wahoo's Adventures has their New River put-in point just a mile up the road! You are more than welcome to bring your own canoes and kayaks, or use the one 2-person canoe provided (adults only, please.)
• The South Fork of the New River that runs in front of the cabin is stocked by the NC Wildlife Commission, and is a great spot for catch and release fishing as it is designated as Delayed Harvest. This means fish cannot be harvested (kept) from October 1 to June 5 each year and only artificial single-hook lures may be used.
IMPORTANT NOTE: There's a zig-zag trail down the hill in front of the cabin to the river. The path is fairly steep and strenuous and can become overgrown during the summer months. The adventurous members of your group are welcome to complete the hike down to the river and enjoy some fun catch & release fishing!

*WILDLIFE*

Lovely get away in the mountains

Honestly in my opinion the house is undersold. Home is beautiful with more space than I thought. Its a litrke further away from things than I thought but with that comes peace and quiet. Tons to do on property to keep kids busy. We were very happy with our stay. Owners were VERY easy to contact with all questions

Perfect Cabin

We booked this property very last minute. Check-in process was perfect. House is very tidy. The owner keeps this house clean. No moisture or musty smell like in most cabins. Kitchen and house as well equipped they had basic necessities as well. Lots of things to do with the kids. They also have this house built and stocked with quality items

Peaceful and relaxing

The cabin is beautifully crafted with all the amenities. Despite being just about fifteen minutes outside of Boone, once you arrive at the cabin you feel like you’re miles away. We took our family of ten and had plenty of room to spread out. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Amazing place!

The cabin was amazing and was as perfect in person as in the pictures! It made for a great getaway in the mountains. We didn’t need anything during our stay, but the hosts were very communicative leading up to it and check-in was a breeze. Hoping we can make a return trip soon!

PERFECT GETAWAY

Private location. Driveway is a still steep with loose gravel as listed so pay attention to that. We were on our motorcycles and made it through okay. The hot tub was perfect, 8 person! Pool table downstairs as well. At least 1 bedroom and 1 bathroom on each level of the home (3). Would book this property again!
