About this property

Adorable 1898 Cottage with Hot Tub

Welcome to The Cottage at Pine Grove, where tranquility meets charm in the heart of the woods. Filled with craftsman touches from a time when most things were made by hand, the Cottage offers a peaceful escape from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. Over 125 years old, this sweet blue Victorian cottage welcomes you in with its cheerful yellow door. Step inside to discover a delightful one-bedroom haven, featuring a plush King bed and a snug "Bed Nook" with another King bed, ensuring comfortable accommodations for up to four guests. A daybed in the sunroom can also be used for sleeping.

Relax and rejuvenate in the sunroom, a serene three-season glassed-in porch ideal for enjoying your morning coffee or curling up with a good book. Outside, the wonders of nature await as you lounge in Adirondack chairs, dine al fresco at the table and chairs, or savor the flavors of a barbecue cooked on the propane grill. Let your worries drift away as you sway gently in the hammock, or indulge in a luxurious soak in the hot tub, which accommodates up to four people and is discreetly nestled behind the cottage.

As the evening unfolds, gather around the pellet stove in the living room for cozy warmth and intimate conversations. Entertainment options abound with a 43” Roku TV in the living room and a 30” Roku TV in the bedroom. For those seeking a touch of nostalgia, a record player awaits in the living room, with board games, puzzles, and a collection of books. A desk and chair in the living room provide a workspace.

The Cottage is located in Historic Pine Grove, a tiny railroad town from 1870-1925. Walk three blocks down to the Pine Library (open 10 hours/wk), browse at the Antique Emporium, or walk another 10 minutes to eat at Zoka’s. It’s just a mile to Sphinx Park and the famous Bucksnort Saloon (currently closed for renovations), or a quick drive to Pine Valley Ranch Park with fishing, hiking, picnic tables, and some of the area’s best mountain bike trails. This mountain retreat is only 40 minutes away from Red Rocks, and an hour from downtown Denver.

Please note that the Cottage is old and quirky. Doors need a special pull or push to close, and each heater has its own thermostat. Floors can be cold, so bring your slippers. The vintage kitchen has no dishwasher, and the stove/oven are slightly smaller than standard. The original wood-burning stove (stamped 1896!) is set up as a breakfast bar. If you’re looking for a one-of-a-kind place brimming with character, this will be a wonderful fit for you, but it is not your “typical” house. Pets and young children are welcome, just be aware that there are lots of antique furnishings and original wavy glass windows at knee level. Finally, this is mountain living, with all of the benefits and challenges that brings! There’s lots of wildlife, and there can be snowstorms into early June. The last ¼ mile is steep dirt roads and AWD vehicles are recommended. If you follow the directions that we give you from turning off of Pine Valley Road, most cars can make it most of the time. Cell phone service is extremely limited, although wifi calling works great at the house.

Whether you’re looking for a romantic getaway, a family retreat, or a solo adventure surrounded by nature’s beauty, the Cottage at Pine Grove promises a unique and memorable escape.
