Harbor Haven

Our calendar is updated in real-time & our nightly rates are accurately displayed. Simply enter your desired dates and click 'Book Now!'

Rich in both modern comfort and classic craftsman charm, Harbor Haven is a one-of-a-kind Seattle retreat. From its century-old style to its thoughtful updates throughout, this property makes a beautiful home base whether you're summer vacationing, visiting the University of Washington, or working downtown.

This three-story home is two blocks away from the Burke Gilman Trail, a scenic 27-mile bike and pedestrian trail that runs along the ship canal from the shore of Puget Sound to the shore of Lake WA and beyond. It sits between Northlake and Wallingford, just over a half-mile stroll from spectacular sunsets at Gas Works Park on Lake Union. So much is close by, including UW's gorgeous campus (three-quarters of a mile), Wallingford's little hub of shops and restaurants (three-quarters of a mile), Husky Stadium (over one mile), and Woodland Park Zoo (two miles). The Fremont neighborhood and its shops and restaurants are just over a mile away.

The backyard is a haven in spring, summer, and autumn - a place to relax on the garden terrace in the shade of a stately Douglas fir. Light the gas grill for a barbecue dinner, gather around the patio table at sunset, and slip into the private hot tub to unwind beneath a star-filled sky.

The house itself dates back to 1925, which you'll feel in its small details - the wood floors, the moldings, the beautiful windows. Yet it's also been outfitted with contemporary comforts, from smart TVs to the home office with its dual desks and complimentary WiFi. The kitchen is especially lovely, offering a center island, a farm dining table, and culinary essentials ranging from stainless steel appliances to a blender and stand mixer.

Begin each morning with a workout in the home weight room and end each evening with a movie in the living room or den. There are five bedrooms to choose from - three on the top floor (including a primary bedroom with window AC), one on the main floor (the den doubles as a bedroom), and one in the basement.

Great location. Walking to UW.
We loved this place when we went to Seattle for my daughter's graduation from UW. .8 of a mile to campus. Residential neighborhood with a small coffee shop one block away. Awesome view from the upstairs Master bedroom. Parking was never an issue. Strongly recommend staying here when you are in Seatte.

Amazing property and local host, Vacasa central customer service is awful
We absolutely loved the property. It was big enough for our large family, especially clean, with a huge kitchen with all of the cooking essentials we needed. It's in a calm but centrally located neighborhood that's convenient to almost anywhere in downtown Seattle and the UW area, and only a few blocks' walk to Lake Union. The hot tub, grill, and fire pit were really nice touches. Overall great spot. Also, the local rep for the property manager, Belinda, was awesome. She was very responsive and helpful. Now, the negative. This property is managed by Vacasa. When I inquired the day prior about an early check in with the central Vacasa point of contact that had reached out, the answer was basically, no and don't even ask. It's difficult for me to believe that the house wasn't ready until exactly 4pm on check in day. I understand that early check in isn't ever guaranteed, but Vacasa acted like they weren't even going to try. We tried to ask again on the day of check-in, and again got the total shut-down. The same thing was true for the check out. Luckily, Belinda was much more helpful and accommodating. Overall, I will absolutely avoid any bookings associated with Vacasa in the future. I will stick to property owners with local points of contact, identified in advance, that I can contact like a real person, not some nameless and unfriendly central office (like a hotel chain). Overall, outstanding property, but we'll stay away from Vacasa in the future.
