Beatiful and Secluded

We had a lovely stay here. The staff took great care of us and we highly recommend having Rosa cook for you at least once while you're here! The only challenges we had were the mosquitos, which seemed to get through the mosquito netting on the beds. Also, we stayed during New Years and could hear loud music very late into the night from the nearby town, but that is to be expected during a celebratory holiday.

Another Visit to Paradise

This was our second visit to Brisa Del Mar, and it was just as wonderful as we’d hoped. The home is outfitted perfectly with everything you could need. We did a lot of cooking and hanging out in and by the pool. It’s wonderful to have the car to get around and see some of this side of the island, and eat at some great restaurants. The dogs and kitties were such and added bonus for us, they are so incredibly sweet, but as I said in my last review…they won’t come by if you’d prefer they don’t. We stayed a week and it was so peaceful and relaxing. Bianca was available if we had any questions, and the cleaning crew, and security/landscape/gate keepers were all so kind and friendly.

Paradise

My husband and I had an amazing stay at Brisa Del Mar. It was just what we were looking for with the privacy. The staff was friendly and we can’t say enough about our driver Oscar. He was such a personable young man and made great suggestions on things to do that suited our needs. We chose to have him drive because we didn’t feel comfortable taking ourselves since it was our first time in Roatan. Our housekeeper Jessica did an amazing job as well. It was so nice to come back to a freshly cleaned villa with our laundry being done. We can’t wait to come back to this little piece of paradise.

Beautiful, Private, and Perfect!

We stayed at Brisa Del Mar for 6 days and it was not nearly long enough! The Brisa crew coordinated transportation to and from the airport, supplied honest and helpful information about nearby destinations, and a wonderful, comfortable, and well stocked home base for us. Easy access to kayaks and snorkel gear was a nice perk. The staff were professional, kind, and always available yet somehow completely unobtrusive. Without a doubt, we would stay here again in the future!

Brisa Del Mar

We had an amazing time overall! Bruce and the staff were equally attentive and dedicated to our privacy. Highlight was the boat charter!! We also loved having a vehicle to explore the island. One thing to note is weekend nights can be loud from music from a nearby disco, but it wasn’t too much of a bother. We would definitely go back!

Fantastic Property

This is a stunning property. Well-thought out, beautiful design and jaw dropping views from the pool deck over the ocean. The property has been landscaped for optimal views and ocean breezes. The amenities are amazing, and Phillipe is a gentleman, consummate host, and all-around great guy. The staff is super attentive and there is an armed guard 24/7 so you don't have to worry about theft and can be truly relaxed at all times. Can't recommend more highly!

Brisa is a very special place

We so much enjoyed our stay here. We had a few hiccups that Phil was great working through. As a guest on their property you can see their 20 years of experience really shine. From the staff, to the infinity pool to our amazing boat captain we couldn't have asked for a better trip. Brisa has perfect privacy that we truly cherished! A few tips for guests looking at this property, use the bug spray and the mosquito net. Be careful traversing the roads in their vehicles and use all the offerings they provide (Kayaks, boat dock, scuba recommendations etc.) We have traveled all over and specifically all over the Caribbean islands and this place will hold a special place in our hearts. We hope to come back some day with our families and use the other villas.

Great and unique property

Bruce and his team are very attentive to your needs. From airport pickup, to bringing a fresh bag of ice they are there to make your stay great. My wife and I really enjoyed Brisa del Mar. Just know going in that it is an open air style villa, so you will have the occasional bug, or mosquito to deal with. While we were there it was pretty windy most nights so we did not really have to deal with too many mosquitos. Overall we settled in and had a great time. I never turned the TV on in the 7 days we were there. We had Rosa cook for us the first night, and after that we used the provided truck that comes with the villa and we ate out all the other nights, except one night we cooked our own meal. I would stay there again.

An Oasis in Roatan

Just got back from a five day stay at Brisa del Mar and everything about the place was top notch. The pictures don’t do the setting justice; the views visible throughout the house and deck are incredible, filled with clear blue Caribbean water. The grounds of the property are impeccably kept and give you plenty of privacy. We didn’t even run into other guests during our stay. The house is beautifully decorated, with plenty of space to spread out both inside and out around the decks by the pool. The dock is an unbeatable place to take in an island sunset and we spent plenty of time swimming and kayaking off of it. Phil made us feel at home from the amount we arrived and the experience and effort he puts into taking care of guests is immediately apparent. The entire staff has been employed at the property for years and the experience shows. You can’t leave without getting several meals from Rosa, who has been working at the property for decades. The best meals we had on the island were cooked by her right in our kitchen. The included pickup truck was a huge added bonus, giving access to explore the island at our leisure. We felt totally safe and secure on the fenced off property with round the clock security and slept with our doors open to the sea every night. I think Brisa del Mar sets itself apart with its unique architecture, beautiful and secure surroundings, the experience and attentiveness of its staff, and the available amenities (truck, available cook, driver, spa, dock, kayaks, boat) all at a very reasonable price point. It made for a memorable week and we hope to be back soon!

Secluded and Relaxing Vacation

My husband and I rented Brisa Del Mar Oct 20-27, 2012. We spent a week on the West End back in June of this year and wanted to try out the other end of the island this time. Bruce, the property owner, personally picked us up from the airport and drove us to the grocery store. Luckily he had a little shopping to do himself so we weren't rushed, as tends to happen when a cab driver is outside waiting on you. As soon as we arrived at the house, my husband and I were completely in awe. Pictures do not do this place justice. It's truly more beautiful in person. This home is completely stocked with everything you need; dishes, pots and pans, silverware, dish, hand and bar soap, toilet paper, paper towels, plush bath and beach towels, extra blankets, movies, books, etc. The deck, facing the ocean, was our favorite hangout and having a pool right outside of your front door is especially nice. I was a little concerned about not having A/C, but between the fold away doors, floor and ceiling fans, and a pretty constant breeze, we were more than comfortable. What sold us on renting this house was the fact that a vehicle is included in the rental price. The East End of the island is completely different than the West End and we wanted to see every inch of it. We got a kick out of the fact that every time we left and returned to the property, someone was waiting for us at the gate, so we didn't have to get in and out of the truck. We surely could have manned the gate ourselves, but it shows that the staff is there to make your vacation feel first class. Another nice touch is that someone lights the candles that are spread around the deck area every evening at dusk. You never see it being done, but it's done nevertheless. During our week long stay, Jessica cleaned the house three times and changed the sheets once. As their site promises, if you place something in the laundry basket, she washes it and returns it the next day. I really can't say enough good things about this place. The house is truly amazing, as well as the owners and staff. If you want a nice, relaxing vacation, this is the way to do it. We only drove to the West End once and didn't feel like we were missing a thing. A special thanks to Bruce, Phil, Jessica, Rosa, Fausto and everyone else at Brisa Del Mar for making our vacation one to remember.

Best VRBO property in the Caribbean?

After 15 years of alternating between a cruise and an all inclusive resort (like Sandals), my wife and I decided to “rent“ a property, choosing this time to clean up daily for ourselves, to make our own meals, and to generate fun on our own. I did all the research, and this assignment will fall on my wife’s shoulders next year, but I had one criterion to begin with, and that was to search VRBO properties with five’s across-the-board. Any property with a lesser rating was eliminated, and I chose from among perhaps 100 properties. I did give this property added points because my wife and I had never been to Honduras nor to this island. This property did not disappoint. It might be the best VRBO property for a couple in all the Caribbean. The staff is led by Phil, who makes sure that everyone else gives 100% excellent service. The unit came with a vehicle, and this was needed—an awesome add-on. Look at the pictures. While they are exceptional, pictures are no substitute for “being there.“ The infinity pool was amazing, and the view even better. The Bali style of our large unit allowed us to open the indoors to the outside when the weather was wonderful, and to close up when, for a short while each (January) day, it rained. If you want to snorkel in the waters off the property, rent a boat with a captain, or take out one of four kayaks, you can. And there’s always someone lurking nearby to assist. As pet lovers, we fell in love with the property’s cats and dogs. Titon, a boxer/pit mix, Leo and two other cats were regular and friendly visitors. The home is stocked with everything you will ever need, blender, dishwasher, coffee maker, extra towels, dishes, etc. The island of Roatan is pretty typical of most Caribbean islands in that the wealthy occupy places along the shore, while the rest of the world resides and works on the interior. Punta Gorda to the north is a recommended destination, with a great back story, along with West Bay and West End. All in all, if we could give the property a six out of five, we would. This property will remain the standard for us in the future. No longer, I think, will we cruise, and we may think twice about all-inclusives because this property opened us up to a less expensive and better alternative – – buy your own food and cook it, buy your own alcohol and drink it, and augment all of that with some beauty and fun! Needless to say, we highly recommend that you stay here.

Wow!!! Dare We Share???

Basically, I can't find language eloquent enough to describe how exquisite our stay at Brisa was. This was by far the most beautiful rental we've ever experienced. The Comfort, Convenience, & Tasteful Decor are simply unparalleled. This was our first trip to Roatan & we couldn't have picked a better place. It was a dream to be picked up at the airport & have a pit-stop on the way to pick up some starting necessities. The house & surrounding grounds are a Tropical Wonderland. You are in your own private domain & feel a million miles away from the tourist bustle. It's fantastic to have your own vehicle & a fully stocked grocery store is only 20 minutes away. It's unbelievable how such a small kitchen area can be so fully stocked with everything you could need to make a gourmet meal. The layout of the place is so open & airy, you practically feel like you are floating on the reef while whipping up blender drinks! Even though we were there during the hottest season, the constant breeze made us feel refreshed & joyful at all times. If you do have a heat meltdown, there is always the joy of the gorgeous infinity pool there to take a cooling plunge in. I will say that if you are new to the Bay Islands, take care to protect yourself from the bugs, as they have a voracious appetite. Often, the breeze will keep the noseeums away & lull you into a false sense of security, but don't be fooled. They are waiting & you should ALWAYS use your mosquito netting while sleeping! That being said, if you are vigilant with the bug spray, you will triumph. The kayaks provided are awesome, but we found that the snorkeling right off the docks was just as satisfying as paddling out to the reef. Lots of the seascape around Roatan is dark because of the reefs below, but the slice of sea viewed from the deck of Brisa has a bright swath of brilliant turquoise in it, which really makes you feel like you are enjoying the Caribbean. While there is no sandy beach on the property, you are very close to Camp Bay Beach which is simply gorgeous. Highly recommended is a drive to the East End of the island, as is an excursion to Jade Beach & Pigeon Caye for a fabulous day trip. The boat available for charter, Shaya Manzi, I believe, was really luxurious & Captain Dan was a pleasure to cruise with. We grilled kebabs in the yard & enjoyed our Tuesday night at the Pizza Palapa. I could go on all day, but I only have 79 characters remaining in my review! haha We will DEFINITELY be returning!!!!!!!

Beautiful, with everything you need...

Clean, beautiful property, and amazing villa. The doors/walls that open out to the beautiful sea views (and breezes!) were wonderful. We loved the seamless access to the deck, pool, hot tub, hammock, and comfy lounge chairs having them open wide created. The onsite staff was wonderful--polite and non-intrusive, but available when you need them. And, you can't go wrong in having Rosa and her daughter prep a meal (or 4, lol) for you--restaurant quality, right in the villa. While there were formal excursions available, we opted to lay low and enjoy the villa amenities. We did take the included truck out ourselves for a few grocery runs/sightseeing experiences (go see the dancing & drumming Sundays in Punta Gorda!). We appreciated having access to drive! A few thoughts--the full-size fridge with ice-maker in the villa is great! It does work hard in the conditions, though, so doesn't run as deep cold as we are used to. We'd suggest keeping milk and other delicate items further back where it's colder. Our family needed bug spray for the nights when the sea winds were still, but it is provided and was never really a problem for us. And, there are a couple of cats that may wander through, but they generally move on if you shush them away. Final thoughts... The wi-fi was strong, with no interruptions during our stay. And, we appreciated the arrival/departure transportation that was included at the time we stayed--another benefit that makes the villa a good place to stay! In all, we are so happy with our stay, and can't wait to return!

I will be back

This property is wonderful. My two sisters and I spent a week together and we loved it. The deck with the pool and view cannot be beaten. Staff are friendly and helpful. When you go, you should definitely get spa treatments and participate in pizza night! Bring wine! One of the cats on the property took a liking to us and snuggled us at night and hung out on the deck with us during the day. The same two dogs accompany the woman in charge of cleaning everywhere she went. Very charming for those who love furry friends!

Heaven on Earth!

From the first moment of looking out at the ocean beyond our little villa in the jungle I was in love. The villa is absolutely stunning in every way! The two bedrooms are equally beautiful with stunning large bathrooms. As you can see all of this from the photos I won’t continue to elaborate, but we were just blown away by the quality and thoughtfulness of all the amenities. The lovely linens and towels, (and the cleaning and laundry twice during our stay!) the abundance of kitchen utensils, linens, and stunning hand thrown pottery. We cooked a fair bit, but also took advantage of two pizza nights. Delicious pizza!!! The villa is immaculate, and that hasn’t been our experience anywhere else on the island. So, basically I stopped expecting my idea of clean, and relaxing my standards while in Roatan. No worries here! It’s very clean and smells clean! We loved the privacy of the villa, and the visiting cats and dogs. However, I expect if you didn’t want them around they’d know it. We frankly encouraged it because we love animals! The birds and butterflies are everywhere, even fireflies in the neighboring field! The crew from top to bottom are lovely, professional and do such a great job. We were really happy to have the truck available to us, and went around and discovered the East side, as we typically stay at West Bay. There are some very cool restaurants with amazing views, live music, corn-hole, etc… and of course good food and nice folks. Phil the property manager is absolutely a doll and it was abundantly clear that he wanted us to have everything we could ever need, and he really took such good care of us. We didn’t take advantage of the kayaks this trip, but we can’t wait to return! We were able to fit in the two hour mud scrub/ wrap and massage. That was heavenly! The little shop with local art and pottery is super cool, and we loaded up with some really neat souvenirs and gifts. If you are looking for a little slice of heaven than look no further. It’s such a lovely spot and you won’t want to leave!

More than expected, way more!

First of all, I would like to thank Phill and his family for making our staying in Roatan Island a wonderful experience. We fell in love with the island people, with the culture, with the people and obviously with Brisas Del Mar. We only can wait to visit our new friends again. LOCATION: What a great surprise it was when we arrived to Brisas del Mar. The house is not located in the tourist area. We visited several beaches, some well known, some hidden, but all of them full of magic. The house is located basically in the middle of the island, that gave us the opportunity to move easily to both ends, giving us the opportunity to actually see the real Roatan. STAFF AND SERVICE: Brisas del Mar has a staff of around 10 people that always are near in case you need anything. I mean, anything, from water to local information. They have a Cheff who is ready to pamper the guests with her wonderful cooking. From shrimp to Rum Cake!! best of all, they make pizza in wooden oven every Tuesday. We had cleaning service 3 times a week (at least) and the cleaning ladies are just wonderful!! The guardians are great people, always ready to open gates, help us with groceries, and always very decent and friendly. THE HOUSE. It is very private, private pool, beautiful, spotless and gave us the opportunity to see the stars at night and the ocean during the day. SURPRISES: Phill picked us up at the airport, once in the house, they provided us a pick up truck to explore the island. Only rule, take care of it as it is your own. We discovered that the owners are into arts. Miss Nicky is a pottery artist like me wife, that was awesome!!! Brisas del Mar has its own spa, they also provided us snorkeling gear, kayaks, they have their own dock and their own boat, in case you want to go fishing or go to different islands. We had the opportunity to use the boat and it is a SAFE boat with communications, fish finder, two huge engines and all is in great shape. I am trying not to go too long with my review. Brisas del Mar is not the average place, this is the perfect place to live the Roatan experience. Juan Carlos Jaramillo R. Voice - Jingles - Pro Audio

Magical Bliss!

My husband and I have been all over the Caribbean and Pacific but nowhere have we stayed that has been superb in every way like Brisa was for our recent stay! The villa is exotic in design and decor and overlooks the turquoise sea with views of a million stars at night. The pool is a refreshing way to take in the sights of passing dolphin, feeding cranes, hummingbirds galore, and colorful boats that drift by like the passing clouds. Rosa prepared a scrumptious meal of shrimp marsala on our first evening. She also made pizza with our choice of toppings from the outdoor pizza oven. There are 3 sets of wooden doors that we chose to keep open 24/7 to enjoy the warm breezes. Whenever a rainshower popped up, even in the middle of the night, they would magically be closed by one of their 24 hour staff. Speaking of which, whenever you need anything at all Fausto, Carlos, or Roberto will appear. They open the gate for you when you use the included vehicle, help unload baggage and groceries, direct you to pathways for exploring the magnificent jungle/gardens that are meticulously maintained by Dario. Phil, the property manager treated us like we were royalty! He was so attentive and patiently answered the millions of questions we had for our first visit to this magnificent island. Twice Jessica washed and pressed our clothing so all I had to do was put them away when we got home. There are many secrets that I am withholding so that you can discover them yourself! My only regret is that we didn't start visiting here years ago!

Exquisite

We just departed on the 4th after an extraordinary week in which my wife and I celebrated our 22nd anniversary and enjoyed the marvels of this home with our two children, diving the reef, and exploring the forest. Phil and his excellent staff are at your beckon call for any queries or fabulous dining. The home is stunning and makes to most of the ocean views and starlit skies. The small villages nearby can be walked to easily for a genuine taste of Caribbean life. A boat trip out to the tinier islands (just patches of sand with fringing reef and a few trees) to the east is must. The 4 wheel drive is essential on the Roatan roads and a real benefit of the rental. The diving opportunities are truly fantastic and the entire island of Roatan is surrounded by the full spectrum of coral and sea-life varieties. If you don't dive, this is the place to learn. Sun divers on Half Moon Bay were first rate. We never return to the same spot, but will certainly never forget the wonderful week we spent here.

An Awesome Stay

We just had our second stay at this great villa. The place is amazing. Off the beaten track but the rental includes the use of a vehicle so everything on the island was accessable. The cook, Rosa, made us some amazing Mahi Mahi purchased from a fisherman that afternoon. Snorkeling right off the pier with gear they supply or out further towar the reef on one of the, I think, 6 kayaks. Folding doors open on two wall in each bedroom so it feels like you are outside. The house faces the ocean and is completey privat. Loved it again. Thanks.

The owners fell in love with Roatan 14 years ago and built their second home here. They live here quite a bit of the time at Fuego del Mar. Over the years they, along with a sister they built two more villas on the property for personal and family use. When the family and friends are not here in Roatan we offer the villas to you for your enjoyment. This property is much more like home than a hotel. Roatan is convinent to the US with direct flights from Atlanta, Huston, Newark, Miami and several other cities in the States. It is so convienient for family and friends to get together here and enjoy the sun, sea, boat, spa and golf. The wonderful attention the staff have provided over the years is totally unique.

Why they chose this property

Politilly is in the quiet east end of the island far from all the cruise ships and traffic. Small restaurants, scenic vistas, secluded beaches, traditional villages. Away from the tourist hub bub
