Private Guest House - Ten Minutes to Glacier National Park, Montana

The Spotted Bear guest house is located on the edge of a meadow along Spotted Bear Road in a private setting on the Foley Family's Abbott Valley Homestead. With three bedrooms, (King, Queen, Full) two baths, a fully appointed kitchen, dining area and living room with fire place, this is a great place to fully relax after a day in the Park! Extra amenities include a full laundry, and free WiFi.

The Spotted Bear has a large yard, colorful flowers, with a fire pit (wood provided) and a patio off the kitchen with a gas BBQ. All you need are groceries and beverages. Shopping is local and very convenient. This is an older home that has been fully refurbished, dedicated to guests, with all modern conveniences for a relaxed vacation.

Abbott Valley Homestead offers seven vacation rentals with one, two and three bedroom rentals each located in a private setting near creeks, forests and meadows, all comfortably convenient to the Park. Each vacation home has a fully appointed kitchen, full bath(s), linens, laundry facilities, electric heat and some with fireplaces. Two cabins, Mickeys (2br/1ba) and Baptiste (1+br/1ba) are authentic homestead log cabins, rustic but fully updated with all modern amenities. Millhouse, Spotted Bear and Jaybird's are three bedroom/2bath homes. The interiors are beautifully updated with all modern conveniences. Cell service is good and WiFi is free. Each unit offers privacy, however, several can be rented with a group in mind for family reunions and weddings.

Located two miles off U.S. Highway 2, eight miles southwest of Glacier National Park and 15 miles from Whitefish and Glacier International Airport, our vacation homes provide a comfortable base camp for exploring the best that northwest Montana has to offer.

All cabins and guest houses have large yards, decks with tables, fire pits and gas BBQs. The yards are bright with flowers from June through September.

Off season, enjoy spectacular Fall colors in September and October; excellent bird and wildlife viewing in May and June. We are open May through October.

Comfy yet rustic home with every convenience

We just loved this comfortable woodsy home that looked so much smaller online than it was in person. We had three gals traveling, and we each had our own room. The kitchen was just right, a nice deck, and a comfortable living room. We slept well in comfortable beds. It was very convenient to West Glacier, and the Gate to Glacier National Park.

This was a wonderful cabin; only about a 15-20 minute drive to the Glacier National Park West Entrance. Nice, quiet area to come back to after visiting the park. Cabin was very clean, beds comfortable, kitchen well stocked. Would highly recommend this cabin; we had a great time!

The place was wonderful and beautiful. Very clean and the management was very helpful offering us advice on what to do in the area. Also, the booklet explains the history of the area and the family which was really interesting! Well worth it!

Perfect stay

We loved our four night stay at the Spotted Bear Cabin in August 2023. Three bedrooms and two bathrooms worked great for our family of four adults. The cabin was clean and comfortable, and it was super easy to access the west entrance of Glacier NP. It was so helpful having access to laundry (including detergent pods and dryer sheets provided.) We recommend this special spot!

Minutes from West Glacier!

Wow- just perfect for proximity to the West entrance if GNP. Note: I hope that fires in Hungry Horse don’t ruin this VRBO. But- that’s nature and you can’t control that. Very spacious rental inside and outside. Spot is absolutely perfect to visit any local towns and food/entertainment that include Whitefish, Flathead lake area, Kalispell, etc. Place has a very outdoorsy feel to it, albeit with everything that people from any suburb would appreciate. Lock this spot up and enjoy everything this area has too offer. I appreciate everything about your Rental and hope that your home continue to draw people like it should! Thank you!

Great Family Cabin Close to GNP!

Our family of 5 used this cabin as “home base” as we explored Glacier NP…it was perfect for us. Larger than it looks in photos, there was plenty of space for us to spread out, relax and rest between activities. Hosts were responsive and live nearby so we met them as the took care of the property, etc. Highly recommend!

Beautiful little cabin!

I was traveling with my mother and mother-in-law so we wanted 3 separate rooms. This lovely cabin fit the order and was delightful. We had to get up early to get in to Glacier Park but would have liked to stay longer. The tongue and groove wood in the ceiling, as well as wood floors and trim really make it comfortable. The fireplace was a nice touch and the outside deck with flowers was very welcoming! We would stay there again in a heartbeat!

Great stay at Spotted Bear

If you are looking for a cabin in the woods to get away from the world, Spotted Bear is perfect. It's only 15-20 minutes west of Glacier and 15 minutes east from modern conveniences in Columbia Falls, but it feels quiet and secluded. We stayed three days and wished that it had been longer. There are some minor quirks - one of the showers has a *very* low ceiling, the wifi is a little inconsistent - but nothing that caused any real problem. Highly recommend. We even successfully made s'mores in the fire pit!

We inherited Abbott Valley Homestead from our parents. We have lovingly preserved the original "Partners" homes and the authentic log cabins on the original homestead. There are six siblings, three of us actively run the business.
