The Big Easy is located in the Lower Garden District, one of the most desirable communities in the city. It is known for its architecture, gorgeous historical homes and bohemian vibe. This neighborhood is close to all the action of the French Quarter yet far enough away to live and play like a local.
When you stay here, you’ll be close to:
St. Charles Avenue: Only a 5-minute walk from The Big Easy, you’ll find yourself on St.Charles Avenue, home of the Mardi Gras parade route. Here you can catch the iconic St. Charles streetcar that will carry you through districts like the French Quarter, CBD, and Uptown. You could not be in a more convenient location.
Little Flea NOLA Market: Who doesn’t love a pop-up market? Forget heading to a traditional shop for souvenirs. Make sure you visit this great little market featuring the city’s best vintage, local artists and local makers. You can also dig into some fantastic food drinks and enjoy live music while you’re there.
St. Mary’s Assumption Church: A national treasure, this cathedral was completed in 1860. It’s a beautiful historical landmark and even made its way into one of renowned author Anne Rice’s novels. Even if you aren’t a history buff, you’ll appreciate taking in the architecture of this gorgeous building.
Boutique Shopping: The Lower Garden District is home to many interesting little boutiques and shops that carry the bohemian vibe. Here, you can find endless handcrafted works of art and browse through vintage clothing till your heart's content - all featuring local artists and makers.
Eclectic Choice of Eateries: Another reason to love this area is the unique restaurants and eateries that offer a wide array of food options for everyone in your group. Step out the front door, and you’ll find lots of exciting places dotted throughout the neighborhood with options for Ramen, Southern comfort food, Locally sourced - American seafood, and so much more.
You're 2 blocks from the St. Charles Ave Streetcar line, which will take you right into downtown or the opposite way through the Garden District into Uptown. It's $1.25 per ride, $3 for a 1-day Jazzy Pass, and $9 for a 3-day Jazzy Pass. We always recommend using Uber and Lyft to get around the city at night.
Please reach out to us directly with any issues or concerns and we will do our best to rectify the situation. We are always available through chat, email, or by phone to assist with anything you may need!
