Welcome to Inn St. Helena, a #1 Bed and Breakfast in the town of Saint Helena! We invite you to experience the warm hospitality of our historic inn nestled in the perfect Napa Valley location.

This listing is for the entire 5 bedroom main home, called Ambrose Bierce House, with full service provided: a 3-course breakfast and daily maid service.

We are licensed to rent out for short term rentals. Some of the listings on here may not be allowed to do so and could put your trip in jeopardy if the county cracks down.

You will have access to the entire inn except the kitchen and office area which is separated from the rest of the home.

If you need an additional room, there is a private studio apartment with 2 beds and 1 bath above the garage available for an additional cost. This loft has two queen beds, well-equipped kitchen, dining, and sitting area. Did I mention that the private bathroom comes with a steam bath! That studio listing is vrbo.com/

With the entire inn (Main House, Studio, and Cottage House), you will get 8 guest rooms, with one of them being a 2-bedroom suite. In total, we can accommodate 20 people (2 people per bed) in actual beds and perhaps 2 more on a sofa bed. Guest do not have access to the kitchen in the Main House, but will have use of a kitchen if you added either Cottage House or Loft Studio.

Wine Trip

We were 3 couples and the house was perfect for that. Everyone had their own bath and the kitchen was a good place for breakfast before heading out.

Perfect Stay in St. Helena!

The cottage at Inn St. Helena was perfect for three couples. Each of the three rooms offered en-suite bathrooms. We cooked, laughed and enjoyed the patio. The innkeeper, Petrice, was so thoughtful and made certain that our stay was perfect. The location is an ideal home base for visiting Napa Valley wineries and is within walking distances of downtown St. Helena. We all highly recommend this property

A St. Helena gem

This is a great little cottage for 3 couples visiting wine country. All three bedrooms, each with its own full bath, are nicely appointed and furnished, well stocked, with comfortable beds. The kitchen is small, but has everything you need to prepare any meal. It even is stocked with St. Helena s own coffee, which is very good. Walk a block down Main St. to Model Bakery, or to shop in the many upscale shops available. Sit out on the front porch and enjoy that bottle of wine you just discovered. Patrice, the innkeeper, is such a delight. We would definitely return.

Wonderfully comfortable

The cottage at Inn St Helena is lovely place to stay. The cottage is very roomy with 3 bedrooms and 3 baths. It was spotless when we arrived, and the beds were very comfortable. It has a very cozy, quaint vibe, and the location is a short distance from downtown. There is a parking lot and ample on street parking.. I highly recommend it!

Super large and spacious. Separate sitting throughout. Kitchen was well equipped and we had everything possible to cook multiple meals. All the bedrooms had big beds and they were soft and high quality. Communication was superb and we got all we asked for and more. Well done!

Great location and thoughtful amenities

The cottage was well appointed with comfy bedding and large bathrooms, and just about anything else you could need for your home away from home. The location can’t be beat with walking distance to St Helena shops and wonderful restaurants. And the off-street parking was a real boost. We’ll be back.

Perfect location!

We had such a lovely time and The Inn House was perfect for our group of six. After tasting fantastic wines we were able to relax in the house and make a meal to go along with our new finds. The location was perfect for a stroll into town and pop into some of the cute stores. Cheers!

You will love this house!

We loved our stay in St. Helena! The house is in walking distance to many awesome restaurants and stores. The innkeeper is amazing! She is so friendly and welcoming. The house was perfect for our family. All 3 bedrooms have a full bathroom attached. The full kitchen is great and we spent some time sitting around the kitchen table. We ate our breakfast one morning in the outdoor area on a beautiful sunny day! The only downside is that the living room area is small. We would definitely rent this house again if we go to St. Helena with our family!

Great for families including adult children

My wife and I met my sister and her adult children, total of 6 of us. It was a great place, very convenient with all of Napa valley and the town of St Helena. Would definitely stay again. Only thing it lacked was a sitting room with TV that would fit all of us. Did have many great times around the kitchen table though.

Great location, friendly staff

This place is right in downtown St Helena, just a block from the popular restaurant Archetype. Very easy to get to anything in St Helena and Calistoga from this location.

Unique and Special

We rented the house and the adjoining studio for our group of 4 couples. Being part of an Inn, we were able to get exceptional service from the front desk, but were totally independent from the rest of the inn. Its like renting a private house, but coupled with great service when you need it. Both properties are totally top of the line - I just can't describe how unique and special they were. The layout and the furniture are well thought out and fit perfectly. We loved the spa like steam baths in 3 of the bathrooms. The location is also very good, and we could walk all over St Helena and to some wineries. Overall, this place has attention to detail, great location, over the top amenities and is a steal for the price. The only minor complaint is that the living room gets road noise in the mornings, though it didn't bother us much.
