Vistors will love our log home located on the East River. Watch the sun set on Whetstone Mountain from the beautiful new redwood deck overlooking the East River. Want to get away from the crowds, this is the place. Secluded mountain getaway with the Town of Crested Butte only 5 minutes away.

World class Golf is only minutes away at the Crested Butte Country Club. Access to mountain biking, hiking, fishing and the Gunnison National Forest is outside your front door.

Our mountain cabin hosts two bedrooms on the main floor with King beds that share a bathroom. The Loft upstairs has two XL twin beds, one twin bed and one Full size bed and its own separate bathroom.

A full kitchen awaits for you to create your own mountain meals or enjoy a quick bite to eat in town.

Wonderful Cabin

Wonderful Cabin

What a wonderful cabin tucked away in the mountains. We had a great time at this great cabin. It was tucked away so you had your privacy, but still had the views that were breath taking. Everything about our stay met our expectations. The cabin is just what you dream of being nestled in the tall trees and overlooking the East river. Away from everyone but so close to Crested Butte for adventures daily. The hummingbirds kept us entertained. The cabin is the best equipped cabin I have ever stayed in. Cooking was a treat there you had everything you needed. Just a lovely place to spend your Vaccation. The location can’t be beat!!!! It is very comfortable and felt like home. Beautiful home

We enjoyed our stay. The home was very clean and comfortable. It is close to town so that was convenient. Very peaceful. We would stay here again without hesitation and would definitely recommend. Thank you for the wonderful memories we made in Crested Butte.

Great Getaway!

Great location and view. Close to downtown Crested Butte, but far enough away from the crowds. Cabin was clean and had enough space inside to accommodate 6 adults and two babies.

Mountain Cabin

A little more rustic than expected. Easy access to Crested Butte without being right in town. Great hiking trails begin right at the end of the driveway. Was required to put down a damage deposit and also buy a damage policy! Why both?

Epic Family Vacation

One of our most favorite trips to date. Turned this hunting cabin into the ultimate mountain biking retreat for my family including my 2 teenage sons. Everyone loved the cabin and location. Communication with the owner was easy and appreciated.

Great cabin in good location

Great location and overall cute cabin. We had planned for five but only three could stay. Short walk from driveway to cabin entrance couple 100 feet along nice path. Recent pine tree fell near north side of house but guessing they will remove soon. you may want to bring your own soap we couldn’t find any but probably our fault.

If you are looking for a rustic cabin that is fairy secluded, this one is for you!

We stayed in this cabin June 26-July1, 2022. It was right outside of Created Butte which was nice, and it was fairy secluded. The property owner/manager lived on property which was not in the description. We did not even see them but thought I would mention so you know! You do have to park at the end of the property and walk down a very small trail to get to the cabin so if carrying luggage and all your stuff is a problem you may want to reconsider this cabin. No dishwasher, but we didn’t mind that part of it as they do have a nice grill on the huge deck. The river is viewable from the deck but no access. All in all a nice place to stay for the money.

Comfortable and convenient

This was our second stay at Whetstone Cabin. It was a great hone base for our week of hiking the great trails in the Crested Butte area. The house had everything we needed to be comfortable and enjoy our time there.

Great secluded cabin!

This is our second stay. Absolutelt stunning mountain and valley views with abundant wildlife. Large deck for sunny afternoon enjoyment. Convenient loacation just 10 minutes from Crested Butte and right across the road from the trailhead of a great hike full of wildflowers. What a gem!

Whetstone Cabin Review 8/2021

Excellent property for ride in/out directly to mountain biking and motorcycling the Gunnison National Forrest trail system. Communication with the owner was excellent. The cabin itself has an amazing Mountain View from the large wrap around porch, is extremely cozy and can easily accommodate 6-8 guest. We would certainly look to stay at this property again in the future.

serenity at whetsone cabin in crested butte

So surprised and pleased at how private the cabin is, what a wonderful view it has, how quiet it was, and in sum, how perfect it was for a re-set from the busy city of Colorado Springs. Hummingbirds, trees, a visiting weasel and calm nights........ The kitchen supplies were some of the best I've ever had on a vacation rental even though there is no dishwasher. Dishwashing was meditative, not a problem. The cabin can sleep up to nine - the four of us had our space and privacy and really enjoyed it all. Only 4 miles from town and you feel like you are in another country. Thanks so much!

Amazing Location

This cabin was the perfect location for our family of 4 to explore Crested Butte during the day and enjoy our own private, peaceful, quiet cabin with amazing views all afternoon and evening. A quick drive into Crested Butte, but you feel like you are miles away.

Private and relaxing cabin

We had a wonderful time at the cabin. The location is so private and beautiful, while only being about five minutes to CB. We enjoyed hearing the owls at night, and seeing one roosting right next to the deck the following morning. We walked over to the Brush Creek trailhead everyday to walk and enjoy the wildflowers. The cabin was very clean and the beds and linens were quite comfortable. We enjoyed cooking meals in the small kitchen, and BBQing on the deck. We would definitely return to the Whetstone Cabin.
