This place is wonderfully located--within walking distance of terrific food at Birdhouse and terrific coffee at MarieBette. There are two very lovely porches. The upstairs porch offers a beautiful view of the neighborhood and was the perfect place to have morning coffee. I grew up in Charlottesville and staying here offered me a whole new and revelatory perspective. Highly recommend this refuge.
This we our first time using Vrbo and the first time this property had been rented out. You could tell. Everything was new and it was appointed quite nicely. Just the right size for two, but honestly we could have brought our kids as well (pull out sofa). The location was fine with us. There are train tracks nearby but we are used to that environment and slept right through it. The location was healthy walk to places you'd want to go, and even quicker to get in the car and get to local hot spots like the downtown mall or the UVA campus and Corner. It was an easy walk to Birdhouse, SuperFly Brewing, and to places on Preston Street. Getting in and out was very easy and there was off-street parking right next to the entry door. Internet was super fast. You might feel more comfortable with window coverings on the downstairs windows, but I would bet those will be installed soon. Overall a great place to stay and we would not hesitate to bring the kids next time.
