Harbourview House - Gimli, Manitoba, Canada

Harbourview House is right on the lake, just a few blocks south of the Gimli Harbour.

Enjoy the lake while on the deck with bar-b-que and a screened-in sitting area. The large sun room and living room also overlook the lake. We have a fully equiped kitchen and dining area. The master bedroom has a king-sized bed, ensuite bathroom, large dressing room, and fireplace. The other two other bedrooms on the main floor have a queen and two single beds. Downstairs, there is a bar and dancefloor, a rec room and an exercise room with sauna.

Enjoy a stroll along the lake to the marina and pier and check out the restaurants and shopping area. There is a small-town movie theatre, live theatre, art gallery, museum and lots of history in this small Icelandic fishing village.

Other activities include boating, kayaking, swimming, bowling, horseback riding, cycling, and golfing.

You may also wish to check out our Gingerbread House which is located on 1st Avenue, just a couple of minutes walk from the harbour.

Great space for big family
We had a wonderful family Christmas vacation. 4 bedrooms were great. Living room and sun room overlooking the lake gave lots of room to spread out. Kitchen is well stocked with lots of dishes and spices etc. Enjoyed the firepit. The house could use some TLC but provided us with great family time.

Fabulous location
This cottage is a short walk from coffee, restaurants and the beach, but just outside the busy part of Gimli so it was quiet and relaxing. There is a lot of space for many guests. Some parts of the house were a bit dated and quirky but that's cottage life. The AC was fabulous and we appreciated that it was pet-friendly.

Disappointed first time users of VRBO
Host did not meet us and when we finally got in contact with him he said he did not have a reservation for our dates. Before contacting the host his brother allowed us access to the building and the mattress was totally soiled, dirty linen all over the floors, bathroom was extremely dirty, furniture was old, and soiled. none of the windows opened, kitchen was a mess . I can go on for ever.

A beautiful lake front location
The property is very convenient to all the shopping Gimli has and not too far to walk, super close on a bike. Being lake front it provides a beautiful setting for doing nothing, which is what we wanted. The deck is great, nice grass area for pet business or playing lawn games. Description of the property and amenities was accurate. It is a very quirky property. As others have mentioned there are some TLC items that need to be addressed. The motion sensor lights that were out on the lake side did not work, and would be helpful when the fur kid needed a potty run in the dark. The kitchen, not new had everything you needed. Not all burners worked correctly, the toaster maybe should be replaced, and the kettle a good de-scaling. The sunroom needed a could cob web clean out, and there was a musty smell which we could not seem to air out of the home, but given that we had to run the a/c especially during the very Wildfire smoke filled days it was difficult to have windows open to assist with that. The screen porch had not been cleared, as the empty beer bottles were still under the furniture, BBQ worked well, we cleaned the grill but it could use a good clean. Pizza oven was cool. There was a lot of trash that had not been collected before we arrived. So it was beginning to pile up by the time we left. We only used two bedrooms and the one bath and the beds were comfy and linens all clean. Big property for the two of us!

Unique enjoyable vacation
We all had a wonderful time. The place felt like home. Laid back and lovely. True relaxation atmosphere. Lots of space. Right on the beautiful lake and minutes to walk to Gimli’s many shops and actives and a gorgeous pier.

Great location but showing signs of wear.
Great location plenty of room. Kitchen nice but older, living room sitting room great. Bedrooms comfortable but night stands would be nice in two . Veranda furniture needs to be replaced. A run thru by owner to repair wear is needed We would stay here again now that we're prepared.

Gimli Charm
The cottage has charm, the furniture had some very interesting pieces and lots of comfy chairs. Great selection of books and games. The kitchen had everything we needed and all the appliances worked well. The location combined the beauty of sitting by the water and enjoying peace and quiet, to being just a few minute walk away to get to town or walk on the pier or beach. Local groceries stores were handy as well. Wifi and Cable worked. The view was wonderful, the night sky was bright with stars.

excellent location - so convenient in Gimli!
I enjoyed my stay for sure. loads of space for everybody and right on the water. I was disappointed at the state of repair. the front doorknob was so loose I had a hard time unlocking the door... there were missing window screens so I couldn't open some windows (which would have been nice overnight) and some of the window cranks didn't even work. Although the linens and towels were appropriately cleaned and the house tidy... the floors were gritty under barefoot, and there were so many spider webs on the ceiling in the family room (I counted over 30 spiders just in that spot!) I took it upon myself to vacuum the floors and the spiders away so we could enjoy our stay. If this place gets a little TLC repairing the front door rear screen door, and functional windows, this would be an incredible place!

Great location but needs some upkeep
The location of this property is great - beautiful waterfront views of Lake Winnipeg right from in Gimli. The kitchen was well stocked and dining room and sitting rooms were quite large but windows and screens were very dirty and some screens didn’t fit. It made the place look a little unkept. The owner was very responsive to our texts - gas for Bbq replaced promptly. Mold in washing machine was disturbing. With some TLC this would be rated higher!

Good location, unique lakefront home, but needs some cleaning & maintenance.
Unique home with plenty of room and a lovely view of the lake. Location is very nice. Unfortunately, the home has the look and feel of a bachelor pad cleaned up for guests at the last minute.
