New, modern, close to town, country-feel

Photo gallery for New, modern, close to town, country-feel

We designed/built this space ourselves in 2023. You'll see deer in yard often.
Very tall, vaulted ceiling and skylight makes space feel very large.
The radiant heated, stained and waxed cement floor feels amazing!
Large window view to the yard, garden, and forested hillside beyond.
Well laid out, spacious kitchen with EVERYTHING that you would need.

About this property

New, modern, close to town, country-feel

This brand new space sits in a quiet, rural road but is only 12 mins from town center. The Mad River is a few hundred feet away. With very tall vaulted ceilings and radiant floor heating, it feels like lofty luxury. Large walk-in shower for 2, super comfortable mattress, Smart TV, private driveway and parking, new fridge and stove, convection oven, washer and dryer, and all the extra amenities for daily life you might need. If you work remote, we have a dedicated office work station.

This house sits on a 2 acre parcel a few hundred feet from the Mad River. It has Redwood and Maple trees, a flower garden, covered porch and an outdoor a fire pit. While on a quiet street full of nature, the house is still only 7 mins away from grocery stores and restaurants, and 12 mins away from the cute town center of Arcata. The town features a lively square that hosts farmers markets on weekends with live music, and has unique movie theaters and restaurants.

If you’re a nature lover, Humboldt county has endless beauty to behold. It is home to the tallest trees on the planet. It boasts majestic cliffs overlooking the ocean. Crystal clear rivers and pebble beaches meander through its rolling hillsides. There are lagoons to kayak in, dunes and forests to hike in, rivers and beaches to swim in, and this luxurious home to relax in.

This is a gem of a property for visiting the Redwoods National and State parks. It is close to Arcata and Humboldt State as well. It is well designed with modern looking polished concrete floors. It includes access to a nice laundry facility. The hosts were very helpful and easy to communicate with.

Lovely Little Home full of Peace & Calm

We hired this home celebrate my {!Oh Lawd!} & were VERY pleasantly surprised tht it was n a beautiful place. LOVE Humboldt County & this didn't disappoint. It's warm, (altho it was a bit TOO warm w/the radiant flooring activated). This was solved by cracking open a couple of windows). We'd planned 2go walking 2explore the area BUT the infamous Atmospheric River returned & had a different opinion. The MAD river also tld us y the europeans named it.Letz just say tht it it rose quite a bit. The blacktail deer were so sweet & weirdly, didn't seem 2B afraid of us. The Scottish Highland & Black Angus cattle & what looked like Scottish black faced sheep were so nice 2C, let alone wht looked like a Scandinavian or Eastern European Barn. There was also a barn tht had wht lookd like a lit Hex sign. Now, it's on a rd tht can B a bit dicey 2navigate, esp. when it's raining & there are locals driving because the st is quite narrow & just this side of a goat path at points but u WON'T regret renting this place. The hosts R lovely people & EXTREMELY responsive. We decided 2ask if it was possible2 stay an extra day & "BAM" it was done. We lucked out that there was no reservations last Sunday, (02.02.2025) This is,so far, the best vacation home we've reserved since we changed frm motels/hotels 2Vacation rentals.4 the foodies out there who prefer to cook, the kitchen is AMAZING! Thanks again, Ana & Erez
