Rustic, Northern Wisconsin Lakeside Cabin w/dock. Family & Pet Friendly!
Loon Cabin is a rustic, seasonal cabin designed for those who are looking for a peaceful Northwoods escape! This cabin has an equipped kitchen, and living room that overlooks our quiet 394-acre lake with great fishing. Aspens is a 5-6 person cabin has two bedrooms. Each Bedroom has a full bed with a single bunk above it.
Loon has running water, a commode with a vanity,but as it is a rustic cabin,there are showers and additional bathrooms in our central bath house less than100 yards away. There is not a shower in the cabin.
A nice living roomwith plenty of windows that overlooks the lake. There is also a charcoal grill and an established fire pit overlooking the lake.
This is a seasonal use cabin. Weather dependent, rental season runs from May 15 through October 15th each year.
In addition to sitting on Big Crooked Lake, guests have seasonal access to the main swimming beach and equipment in front of our Welcome Center. You are also less than 100 yards to our South Camp Swim Beach
We're located in Lac du Flambeau, Wisconsin. We are 6 hours from Chicago, 4 hours from the Twin Cities, 3 hours from Madison and 12 miles from Minocqua, Wisconsin.
Loon Cabin is great for small families, a couple, or a gathering of friends. The living room area and bedrooms are cozy. A charcoal grill and a large fire ring are provided. Spend some time reading your favorite book on the shared boat dock or enjoy your morning coffee on the screened porch. Enjoy listening to the cabin's namesake in the morning and evening. The call of the Loon is a uniquely Northwoods experience.
During the summer you can bring your own boat, or you can rent one of ours. Guests also have access to the 46-acre Little Sugarbush Lake. No gas motors are allowed on Little Sugarbush but electric motors are welcome and can be attached to one of our provided rowboats.
Summer usage includes use of canoes, kayaks, rowboats, paddleboards and sailboats on a first come, first served basis.
The fall leaf season is nothing short of spectacular! Stay with us and enjoy our scenery, trails and kayaks or use us as a base to explore some of the other fall foliage near us.
Loon Cabin is part of YMCA Family Camp Nawakwa which will be celebrating our 100th anniversary in 2024. Our properties are designed for families, friends, couples, or individuals who are looking for a quiet Northwoods experience.
