Disliked: Cleanliness, check-in, communication, location, listing accuracy
Disappointed.
I've stayed at plenty VRBOs and I'm not that much of a nitpicker, but when I have a not-so-good experience with a VRBO, I just have to comment. The house is located on a dead end street among several dilapidated houses. The door lock didn't light up at first so you can enter the code; you have to tap it several times to get the numbers to light up. And you have to hit # after the code or else it will not unlock. We stayed in the upper unit. The hall light flashed brightly like a strobe light and the globe was full of bugs and debris. The unit was sparsely furnished: a couch that had crumbs and debris under the cushions, a cocktail table that was wobbly, a floor lamp that was broken, four beds (one with box spring and mattress on floor smelled like a dog had been sleeping on it; another bed with the headboard loose and the bed frame in pieces inside the laundry closet) a desk with a soiled chair, and some flimsy fabric storage bins to put clothing in if you choose. The vents in the ceiling were dirty with more dirt blown on the ceiling around them. Baseboard vents were dirty too. The bathroom showed signs of water damage and needing caulking around the sink. The shower stall was VERY small. Numerous cracks in the floor tiles in the kitchen and bathroom. TV remotes were so sticky that you couldn't push down the buttons. I'm aware of the saying "you get what you paid for." But even on a budget, guests should still be able to get a decent and clean VRBO to stay in.
