About this property
Three Bedroom Home in the Gill Addition
**Minimum Night Stay Requirements May Vary and Final Availability is Subject to Homeowner Approval.**
Bluebell Cottage is a luxuriously cozy three-bedroom home who’s extensive 2019 remodel was envisioned by WRJ Design, the Jackson-based design studio that has four times won Mountain Living’s Home of the Year. If you can tear yourself away from enjoying the cottage itself, the shops, art galleries, restaurants, and boutiques of downtown Jackson are less than a 10-minute walk away. Grand Teton National Park and the Jackson Hole Mountain Resort are each about 12 miles away.
Bluebell Cottage was originally built in the 1950s, shortly after Lewis Gill established the neighborhood. A native of Missouri who came to Jackson Hole in the 1930s, Gill bought 30 acres of pasture from Grace Miller, who was mayor of Jackson from 1920–1923 (and part of one of the earliest all-female town governments in the country; the 4-member town council was also female). He divided the pasture into 155 lots and, from the beginning, the Gill Addition was town’s toniest subdivision—the place where the valley’s business owners and movers and shakers lived.
The Gill Addition is still one of the most coveted in-town neighborhood. It is walking distance to the Town Square and the Teton County Recreation Center and adjacent to the National Elk Refuge, but doesn’t have the hassle of any thru traffic. It is the kind of neighborhood where you can send the kids outside to play for the day (if there wasn’t also the option of playing Grand Teton National Park, Jackson Hole Mountain Resort, or the Bridger-Teton National Forest).
Bluebell Cottage, which takes its name from the color of its front door and the flower, is as welcoming as its neighborhood. Walk in the front door to light-filled public spaces. The gourmet kitchen is to the left; to the right is a great room with a gas fireplace and a dining table with seating for four. From both of these spaces, there are windows to the front and back yards, each of which is landscaped so there are flowers blooming from June into September. In the backyard, a patio has a fire pit, oversized sun shade, and dining table.
In the north wing of the main level is the primary suite and a guest suite. The west-facing primary suite has a king-size bed and its bathroom has a walk-in shower. The guest suite has a queen-size bed and faces the backyard. Its bathroom also has a walk-in shower.
Downstairs is a media room, second guest bedroom, and a room with two twin beds. The downstairs guest bedroom, which has a king-size bed, and the twin room share a bathroom, which has a walk-in shower.
Disclosures | Backyard is open, not fully fenced, and shared with home to the north who has dogs. Detached garage. No windows, closet, or dresser in twin room.
