About this property

Walk to Bay Head Beach and Town

Tucked away in a hidden enclave within Bay Head and Point Pleasant. Only steps to the marina, a 5 minute bike ride (15 minute walk) to the Bay Head beaches and less than 10 minutes walk to the town of Bay Head for the infamous crumb cake of Mueller's Bakery, the Shore's best local/organic food truck Nettuno, Coffee at Noon, dinner + drinks at Charlies and more! This home was completely renovated in 2019 with a Scandinavian cottage style... simple and clean.

Walking/Biking to the Beach
One of the best parts of this home is the walk or bike to the beach. On your walk (which is amazingly diverse and fun!), you'll pass a marina, baseball and soccer fields, the Vintage Automobile Museum of New Jersey, the New Jersey Museum of Boating, the Johnson Brothers Pool, the Bay Head Yacht Club, the bay, Bay Head Park, tennis courts and more. You'll go over the canal via a walking bridge, and then the beach will be just a couple blocks in front of you.

Backyard
The backyard is a little haven of nature. You'll likely see many birds, rabbits and sometimes deer and foxes. The back deck has seating, lighting + ceiling fan, a firetable and retractable awnings to create a comfortable experience. There's a small grassy yard, a grill and our favorite... the private outdoor shower!

Our House
Our home has 2 bedrooms and 2 full baths. The first bedroom has a queen bed with a ladder-access loft with another queen bed. The second bedroom has a queen bed, along with an extra room with two twin beds. The downstairs bath has a rain shower and the upstairs bath has a bathtub/shower combo.

You'll have a full kitchen with the regular cooking necessities. The tv nook has a sectional couch and smart tv. The living room area has two couches and additional seating around the wood burning fireplace. The dining room has seating for eight, which is just off the kitchen.

We bought this home in 2017, and fully renovated it 2018-2019. We tried to save as much character as we could from this 1930's cape style home. We put quite a bit of love and thought in all the work we did. One of our favorite aspects is the indoor stained glass window that was designed and created by a local artist. We were also able to save all the original bedroom and closet doors in the home, which some might appreciate! You'll be in a modern home with all the upgrades (smart LED lighting, central air/heat, tankless water heater, etc), but feel like the house has been around for nearly a century.

Parking
The driveway is long enough to fit 3-4 cars behind one another.

I'm an entrepreneur who's been living in Jersey City for the past 15+ years. I love spending my free time at my shore house, but also love traveling to different destinations around the world. I've been using Airbnb as a guest since 2011, and this is my first go at hosting.

Why they chose this property

I love this historic neighborhood down the Jersey Shore. Not many know about this enclave between the canal, bay and ocean. You can walk to so many great spots, beyond the bay and ocean -- one of the best food trucks down the Shore (Nettuno), Mueller's famous crumb cake, coffee at Noon and dinner + drinks at Charlie's!

What makes this property unique

It's quiet, filled with nature and close to the beaches and town of Bay Head, as well as the marina and bay.
