About this property

Hidden Cabin with covered porch & fire pit! Minutes to Salt Fork.

Welcome to The Owls Nest!
The cabin is nestled back into the woods providing you peaceful privacy.

Relax and unwind with a cup of coffee on the huge deck while overlooking 2.5 acres of serenity and wildlife.

Enjoy cooking out on the gas grill or roast some hot dogs and marshmallows over a fire in the fire pit.

Located 9 miles from Salt Fork State Park Entrance.

Take an adventure on the hiking trails, enjoy a day of hunting or fishing, explore the campgrounds, host a small get together, or relax for a long weekend.

The cabin does not have Wi-Fi but the cell signal is great. The tv gets basic channels, there’s a blue ray player, or you can use the Roku to log into your favorite streaming service using your phones hotspot.

Enjoy the complimentary coffee bar, a fire starter bundle for the outdoor fire pit, and travel size bathroom amenities.

There is a window AC unit and space heater downstairs and upstairs to keep the cabin comfortable all year round.

Please note that the bedroom is upstairs. There are 2 queen beds and each one has a nightstand.
A sound machine, fan, window ac (during warm months), space heater, extra blankets, a night light, and an alarm clock is provided. There are outlets to charge your phone or plug in devices.

The cabin has well water that is high in iron so I provide a drinking water tower that has hot and cold water.

There is plenty of parking space as well as an RV hookup at the power pole.

Nice cabin
The cabin is clean, quaint, and nicely decorated. They had a little coffee/tea set up and s’mores station which were cute details. We really didn’t spend much time in or around the cabin because we were visiting family close by. There is no wifi and our phones struggled, but that wasn’t a huge issue for us since we only slept there and left in the morning. My only complaint was the water and the shower water pressure - had we known about the iron in the water, we may have not booked - unfortunately the booking is listed as non-refundable and we weren’t told of the water will after we booked. We did make the best of it and aside from the water enjoyed the cabin.

Cute cabin in Salt Fork area
We stayed for one night while exploring the Salt Fork area for the first time. The weather was not great but Brittany allowed us to check in early, so we ended up spending most of our time at the cabin. We enjoyed the fire pit and cooking on the grill. The inside of the cabin is beautiful and clean. The outside was nice as well but a bit unkempt - mostly minor things that could be resolved easily (grass needed cut, found some garbage lying around, grill was very old and rusty with food residue). The area is very quiet and we enjoyed watching the birds and rabbits on the property in the evening and morning. Check in and check out process was quick and easy. The driveway back to the cabin is a narrow, dirt two-track that could be difficult for oversized cars or those without AWD during inclement weather. The nearest store for basic supplies (snacks, wood, beer, etc) is about a 12-minute drive. Overall we had a nice time and enjoyed our stay.
