LUXURY CHALET IN A GREAT LOCATION! NO CLEANING FEES. Legacy Chalet is a large, newly remodeled, ski chalet located in the heart of the Killington Valley area. Located only 5 min from the base of Pico and 10 min from all the action in Killington- this unique property is located near the best outdoor experiences central Vermont has to offer! Relax in the beautiful Great Room or have a drink down in the Speakeasy (hidden by a SECRET DOOR). See photo descriptions for further details.
The neighborhood is located off of the convenient Route 4 in the central Vermont valley. While the neighborhood feels very quiet and secluded...it is only a short drive down the mountain to all of the conveniences of Rutland VT (10 Minutes away) and Killington VT (less than 15 minutes away). Pico Mountain is located 5 minutes from Legacy Chalet.
To get to Legacy Chalet, guests will drive up a mountain to an elevation of over 2,000 feet. The home is located on a dead-end road in the "Rural District" of Mendon. The neighborhood has direct access to several popular hiking trails, mountain bike trails, and snowmobile trails. The VAST snowmobile trail network is only a few hundred yards away from Legacy Chalet!
Guests will need a car to get around the area. There are several hiking, biking, and snowmobile trails within walking distance.
✸✸SHORT TERM RENTAL AGREEMENT & RULES✸✸
BY BOOKING A RENTAL AT THE PREMISES, YOU HEREBY AGREE TO THE FOLLOWING RULES AND REGULATIONS:
1. Check-in Time: After 4:30 PM EST.
2. Check-out Time: No later than 11:00 AM EST. If you fail to check out by this time on your last scheduled day at the Premises, you may be liable for the cost of an extra night.
3. Security Deposit: Guests will provide the deposit as laid out by booking platforms for potential damages. The deposit will be returned less any amount deducted to cover damages. If the damages exceed the deposit amount, you may be liable for any shortage.
4. Cancellation Policy: The cancellation policy will be enforced per the policy of the booking platform.
5. Management Hours and Communication Method: All communications shall be sent and received through the booking platform. Our office hours are typically 8:00 AM to 10:00 PM (EST) Monday through Friday. Management will be available on weekends to respond on an as-needed basis and will attempt to return any messages as quickly as possible on weekends.
6. Maintenance Problems: During your stay, promptly report any maintenance problems through the booking platform. Maintenance may enter the premises to make repairs. If you report any unnecessary maintenance, you could be billed $25.00 per occurrence.
7. Keys: Where applicable, keys to the Premises are to be left on the kitchen counter. There will be a charge of $25.00 for each lost key.
8. Parking: You may park in the dedicated parking area of the Premises only. Guests are not allowed to park on the road.
9. Garbage: Please place ALL garbage in trash bags. Please discard all bags in the proper receptacles that are provided. There are two trash cans in the shed. If you require more space or have excessive amounts of garbage, please contact your host. Leaving an excessive amount of garbage, or not properly bagging your garbage, could result in a $50 excessive cleaning fee.
10. General and Safety Rules:
✸ No open flames or grills on decks
✸ Fires are not allowed anywhere inside of the Premises. Any unauthorized fires (including candles) will be charged $60.00 plus damages. Fireworks cannot be used on the grounds or balconies at the Premises.
✸ Possession or use of a firearm is prohibited.
✸ Possession or use of illegal narcotics is prohibited.
✸ No tampering with fire/burglar alarm equipment and devices
✸ No underage consumption of alcoholic beverages on the Premises and no contributing to the delinquency of minors.
✸ Do not leave windows and doors open while operating air conditioning.
✸ The refrigerator/freezer temperature settings should be set in the middle position for optimal performance. Please do not adjust their settings.
11. Occupancy: If more people at any point in time are brought to the Premises that were not included on the original reservation, you may be asked to leave the Premises without a refund or we will enforce a $75.00 per person per night fee for each additional guest. Our maximum occupancy is 8 guests. Please make sure you enter the correct number of guests at the time you make your reservation. If you decide after your reservation that you need to add more guests and it is still within our 8-guest limit, please message us and we will be happy to accommodate.
12. Age Restriction: Primary renter must be at least 25 years of age, and have a government issued photo ID on file with the booking platform. You cannot book if you will not be staying the entire booking period. Guests under the minimum age must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian. No exceptions. Any reservation obtained under false pretense will be subject to forfeiture of any payment, reservation fee or final payment and check-in will not be permitted or eviction of guest who has already checked in may occur. If you are under 25 years old and have 5-star reviews as a guest, please reach out and we are happy to discuss potential options.
13. Outdoor Security Camera: There is an outdoor security camera mounted on the exterior of the home facing the driveway. This camera is equipped with video and audio capabilities. This is the only camera located on the Premises and is used for security purposes only. If any other camera is located on the Premises, notify your host immediately.
14. Power, Mechanical Failures & Closures: During your stay, if there is a failure of an item at the Premises, such as mechanical failures or service provider failures, we will make every effort to fix said item, but we are under no legal requirement to do so. We are not responsible for service outages caused by private vendors, such as the electricity provider, water and garbage provider, internet provider, cable provider, etc.
15. Furnishings: Please do not move furniture, including TV’s or other electronic equipment, from present location. If you remove accessories to protect children, they should be replaced prior to departure. Do not remove outdoor furniture from its present location.
16. Linens: Bed, bath and kitchen linens are provided for your convenience. Please make sure all linens, towels and other items are left and are not removed from the Premises. Items missing after your departure are subject to being billed to the credit card on file.
17. Forgotten Items: Items left in the Premises or car during your stay are not the responsibility of the property managers. If your personal items are left in or at the Premises after your departure, you will be notified if they are found. They can be returned to the address you specify. There will be a shipping and handling fee to return. There will be a $25.00 service charge in addition to postage for any items that have to be mailed back to you.
18. Smoking Policy: Absolutely NO smoking or vaping. Smoking or vaping is not permitted at the Premises at any time. The outdoor areas are also non-smoking areas. Evidence of smoking will result in an additional minimum $250 cleaning fee post-checkout.
19. Electronics (where applicable): Televisions, Record players, CD players, etc. are pre-programmed. Equipment is not to be modified in any way or relocated. Non-compliance will result in a $25.00 reprogramming fee. The TVs are smart TVs and equipped with streaming services for you. Please use your own login credentials for your streaming needs and remember to log out of these services when you depart. Guests are not allowed to make purchases or rentals through any TV services. Any such action will result in a fee. Please remember to leave the remotes next to each TV when not in use. At check in please notify us immediately if electronic equipment is not working properly.
Roku Guest Mode is provided on most TV’s. This allows guests to select their check out date and their log in credentials will be automatically deleted on their check out day. It is highly recommended guests use this feature.
20. Internet: The internet available is typically reliable and more than sufficient for our guests' needs. The internet speeds should provide quality HD streaming on all TVs.
21. Heat System/Pumps: Radiators: Feel free to adjust the settings within the limits to make yourself comfortable using the smart thermostats. AC/heat pumps: Feel free to adjust the settings within the limits to make yourself comfortable using the remote control provided. Rinai heater (Kids Room): Feel free to adjust the settings within the limits to make yourself comfortable using the panel on the unit. Please be sure to shut off the Rinai heater whenever you leave the home.
22. Outdoor String Lights: To turn on the outdoor string lights, please use the small remote provided kitchen/living area. If the remote is misplaced, carefully plug the lights in on the outdoor deck. Please remember to turn off the string lights when you are done using them and when you check-out.
23. Septic System: The house runs on a septic tank system. Please ONLY flush toilet paper down the toilets. Please use the trash cans for baby wipes, feminine products, tissues, napkins, cotton balls, Q-Tips, etc. Please don’t put food or grease in the kitchen sink. All food waste should be placed in trash cans provided.
24. Supplies: We furnish the below list of supplies for each booking at the property. Any additional supplies will need to be provided by you. The home has a water well system. Like most mountain homes, this can cause a slight iron odor from time to time. To mitigate this concern as much as possible, we have several filters as well as a water softening system. That being said, bottled water is suggested.
